Grimm - The Rat King + Wesen Nacht - Review

Sorry guys, I haven't been able to review Grimm last week, so I wrote an article for the last two episodes of this year. In the first one, The Rat King, Nick and Hank are called to the scene when three Wesen go out on a hunt at a local dump and get more than they bargained for when two turn up dead after they encounter the mythical Rat King. Meanwhile, a very badly wounded Trubel is taken to the hospital and Nick finally meets Meisner.

The episode was a classical Grimm one with the Wesen of the week involved a mouse-cat-dog tale/game. two men have been found dead. Apparently, those men used to go out in the night with another friend to bull other Wesens like them, but this time they've been interrupted by a giant Rat who kiled them, while the third man, Johnny managed to escape. Now he's in danger because others want him dead.
To help Nick and Hank during the investigations, Monroe explains to the Scooby Gand the legend of the King Rat. When they're threatened, those kind of wesens can woge into a giant rat to defend themselves.
Meanwhile Trubel is back and she's not in good conditions, so Nick has to take her to the hospital with the name as Lauren Cole, as we find out Trubel have some fake IDs with her.
Also, Adalind answers to Chavez's phone and turns out she talks with Meisner! How long since those two met? Back then in season 3, he helped her escaped with baby Diana. They made a really cute 'couple'. Anyway, since Adalind trusts Meisner, he tells Nick that Trubel is in trouble (sorry for the game words lol). In fact, a bad nurse is trying to kill her. Nick and Meisner both go to the hospital and manage to save the Grimm girl before it's too late. After Nick brings Trubel home, he confronts Adalind about Meisner: "I need to know who he is".

In the second episode, Wesen Nacht, Nick and Hank investigate a wave of coordinated Wesen gang vandalism that results in the death of a local business owner and the kidnapping of Monroe and Rosalee's friend. As they dig deeper, they learn that Portland wasn't the only city hit with a wave of violence. Meanwhile, Truble fills Nick and Adalind on what she has been up to. Elsewhere, Capt. Renard dips his toes into politics as he endorses a local candidate.

The Wesen of the Week involved a gang-related violence. A bunch of Wesen guys are killing others Wesens. It turns out what Chavez anticipated early this season is coming true. A war is approaching. Suddlenly the worlds "Occultatum libera" (free the hidden) starts to mean something.
Monroe and Rosalee are the most worried when they hear on tv that some of their friends have been killed. As Bud arrives, he claims he has a bad feeling - and he's right when Monroe is the next target. Nick, Hank and Wu investigate, and I like how Monroe always knows the answers and gathering all the Scoobies around the table with books and tells the story. He's so familiar to Buffy's Giles more than ever.

Monroe's friend, Xavier the baker, is in trouble. Captured and tortured by the Wesens gang in black, he claims he doesn't know Monroe, so he is released. Nick and the others want to protect him but in return they want to know who runs this bad Wesen gang. With Xavier's recluctant help, they catch one of them, a woman named Billie. As soon as she learns Nick is a Grimm, she's forced to reveal something about her gang. Can we talk about how Sean Renard can be persuaded when he woges? Billie refuses to draw the factory where she meets with the gang, so the Captain woges and scares Wu out of Hell! He's never seen him woged I guess? By the time Nick, Hank, Wu, Sean and Monroe are at the factory, Rosalee, who's in the car with Xavier, realizes it's a trap and Billie agreed to play the part. The gang manages to save themselves but also they are helped by a mysterious figure who has telekinesis powers. When Nick steps out in the light, he can't believe his eyes: it's Juliette!

Special mention to Nick\Trubel's relationship: those two are like brother and sister. Trubel was crying when she told Nick she though she would've never seen him again. Awww. Also Adalind and Trubel start to bond for the first time. At least they have someone in common: Nick and Meisner.

Did you see this (Juliette) coming? Do you think her return will complicate things between Nick and Adalind? Also what about Meisner and Adalind? Share your comments below and see you next year with new Grimm episodes.
