-Losers:
“Hollywood Game Night” (NBC), “Hart of Dixie” (CW), “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful” (NBC), “Beauty and the Beast” (CW)

———-

-Ratings Breakdown:
ABC opened the week on a winning overnight household note care of two-hours of “The Bachelor” (#2: 5.9/ 9 from 8-10 p.m.) and “Castle,” which won the 10 p.m. hour with a 6.4/11. Comparably, time period warmer “The Bachelor” was right on par with the year-ago evening and remains more than adequate filler until “Dancing With the Stars” returns.

Over at CBS, the 8-10 p.m. comedy block — “How I Met Your Mother” (#1: 6.3/10), “2 Broke Girls” (#1t: 5.8/ 9), “Mike & Molly” (#1: 6.6/10) and “Mom” (#2: 5.8/ 9) — was similar to recent positive weeks. And the retention of 88 percent for “Mom” out of “Mike & Molly” makes a renewal for season two a sure thing. Minus NBC’s “The Blacklist” in the competitive Monday 10 p.m. mix, recent CBS drama “Intelligence” rose to a second-place 5.1/ 8, which was 13 percent above the 4.5/ 7 in the overnights one week earlier.

As a reminder, the series-finale of “How I Met Your Mother” will sign-off with a one-hour installment on Monday, March 31 from 8-9 p.m. And it will lead into the series premiere of “Friends With Better Lives,” which tells the comical tale of six friends at different stages of their loves – married, divorced, newly engaged and single. To make room for “Friends With Better Lives,” “2 Broke Girls,” which recently relocated to Monday at 8:30 p.m., will move back to 8 p.m. into “Friends With Better Lives” on April 7.

In the specials department, “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful” flopped on NBC, with a mere 2.0/ 3 in the overnights from 9-11 p.m. And its lead-in, the fun “Hollywood Game Night,” finished fourth at 8 p.m. with a 3.1/ 5.

Over at Fox, the combination of dramas “Almost Human” (#3: 4.7/ 7), which is on the fence for renewal, and “”The Following” (#3: 4.4/ 7) are perfectly compatible. But compared to the year-ago evening (5.8/ 9 on 2/04/13), “The Following” with Kevin Bacon dipped by 24 percent. The CW capped off the evening with its low-rated pairing of “Hart of Dixie” (#5: 1.1/ 2), which moves to Friday at 9 p.m. (out of the return of “Whose Line is it Anyway?”) effective on March 21, and sophomore “Beauty and the Beast” (#5: 0.8/ 1). Moving into the Monday 9 p.m. hour on The CW on March 17 will be “The Tomorrow People.”

About the Daily Ratings

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.
