FBI - Defector - Review : Lies and Deception

This was an insane episode to end on and that last scene made me have so many questions leading into next season.

I really enjoyed that we tied back to the earlier storyline of Anna and Oslo. Even after this episode I still don’t understand why Isobel was told to back off Anna but I am betting we will definitely find out next season with OA presumably being undercover.

I think it is really important to note that this episode did a really great job of showing that sometimes even perceivably good guys don’t do the right thing. The fact that the FBI is willing to cover up the gas leak on the bus is egregious. When OA spoke to the little boy on the back of the bus reassuring him I was truly so emotional and knowing that he is now someone the world is told to forget about and doesn’t exist is so devastating.

There were two main moments of this episode that I was truly dumbfounded, one was when Anna was first introduced and the civilians were hooked up to the car batteries and then the second was when Anna’s team turned on Maggie and OA. Truly nothing could have prepared me for Devon shooting Maggie. He really made sure to hurt the one person that is OA’s weakness.

I’m still not too clear on whether OA was really fired or just fired for show because he has been complaining about the ADIC enough that calling him a disgrace was absolutely believable. Part of me wonders if his intention was to be fired hoping that Anna would take the bait but that is a seriously risky gamble with his life.

I adored OA and Maggie’s relationship in this episode, they had each other's backs no matter what. Even when both of them had been beaten up and shot their first instinct was to make sure that the other was okay. It truly broke me when OA was leaving 26 Fed and Maggie said she couldn’t lose him and his response was just “ You’re never going to lose me Mags”. It just shows that first and foremost they are family and that was really great to witness.

I don’t know how this storyline will land at the top of next season, surely it has to begin relatively soon after this happens considering OA no longer has a job. Or at least a legal job.

This was a great end to the season, I can’t wait to see what is to come in the fall!
