    CW: +20, CBS: + 5, ABC: – 3, Fox: -19, NBC: -35

Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. The overnights are your first look at what to potentially expect when the other results come in. And we always take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence. Keep in mind, as always, that results for any live event are always approximate.

    “Big Brother” (CBS)

    –Honorable Mention:
    “Wayward Pines” (Fox)

    -Losers (excluding repeats):
“Food Fighters” (NBC), “Beauty and the Beast” (CW), “Aquarius” (NBC), “Dates” (CW), “Hannibal” (NBC)

    Ratings Breakdown:
CBS led the overnight troops on this second Thursday in July, besting No. 2 ABC by 26 percent. Comparably, CBS will hold a much greater lead in adults 18-49 (and all the key young adult demographics) once the fast affiliate and Live + Same Day data are released.

Encore telecasts of the Eye net’s “The Big Bang Theory” (#1 for the night: 4.9 rating/9 share at 8 p.m.) and “Mom” (#1: 3.8/ 7 at 8:30 p.m.) led into the second live eviction show of the season for “Big Brother” at a dominant 4.0/ 7 from 9-10 p.m. Versus one week earlier (3.6/ 7 on July 2), “Big Brother” increased by 11 percent. And the 3.6 rating in the overnights last week translated into a 1.8 rating/7 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data. While certainly not the highest rated season to-date, “Big Brother” is still a highly viable option for CBS in the summer.

Relocated “Under the Dome” followed with a 3.3/ 6 in the 10 p.m. hour (#1), which was on par from one week earlier. And that resulted in only a 1.0 rating/4 share in adults 18-49, which is a double-digit loss from one season earlier on Monday.

    In series-premiere news, CW British sitcom “Dates” was a bust at a 0.5/ 1 (#5) in the 9 p.m. half-hour, and a 0.4/ 1 (#5) for a second episode at 9:30 p.m. Lead-in “Beauty and the Beast” (which should not be returning for a fourth season) scored a lackluster 0.8/ 1 (#5) in the household overnights from 8-9 p.m.

On Fox, week two of game show “Boom!” inched up one-tenth of a rating point with a 1.6/ 3 from 8-p.m. A 1.5 rating in the overnights for “Boom!” last week resulted in a 0.7/ 3 in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data (which tied competing “Food Fighters” on NBC in the demo). Cult favorite “Wayward Pines,” which should have no trouble snagging a second season renewal, rose to a 2.7/ 5 in the 9 p.m. hour (#3t), which was 69 percent above “Boom!”

Elsewhere, a night of all original programming on ABC – “The Astronaut Wives Club” (#2: 3.5/ 7), “Mistresses” (#3t: 2.7/ 5) and “Rookie Blue” (#2: 2.9/ 5) – was, on average, 11 percent above one week earlier. And NBC struggled to stay afloat with its original combination of “Food Fighters” (#3: 2.3/ 4), “Aquarius” (#4: 1.7/ 3) and canceled “Hannibal” (#3: 1.0/ 2), which has not been successful finding a new home. At this point, NBC should rethink the second season renewal for “Aquarius.”
