Ratings Breakdown:
Led by a 13.3 rating/22 share for an NFL Football primetime overrun from approximately 7-8 p.m., CBS took top-rated household overnight honors on this final Sunday in October.
In the battle of football versus baseball, the Green Bay Packers at the New Orleans Saints on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” was the stronger option with an 11.4/18 in households from 8:30-11:30 p.m. (peaking in the 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. half-hours at an 11.8/18). One week earlier, however, the San Francisco 49ers at the Denver Broncos was considerably stronger at a 14.9/24 in the overnights (which translated into 23.79 million viewers and as 8.2 rating/23 share among adults 18-49, based on the Live Plus Same Day data).
Earlier in the evening on NBC was pre-game “Football Night in America” at a 1.5/ 3 (#4) at 7 p.m., a 2.2/ 4 at 7:30 p.m. (#4) and a 6.9/11 (#3) in the 8 p.m. half-hour.
On Fox, game five of the World Series (Giants 5, Royals 0) was certainly a stronger option than the network’s regularly scheduled Sunday night line-up. But an estimated 8.2/13 in the household overnights from 8-11 p.m. was 22 percent below the year-ago game four match-up between Boston and St. Louis (10.5/17 on 10/27/13). Earlier in the evening on Fox was the baseball pre-game at a 7.2/12 from 7-8 p.m. Once again, results for any live sporting event are always approximate.
Individual program results for CBS are also estimated due to the aforementioned NFL Football primetime overrun, with granddaddy “60 Minutes” at a 9.6/15 from 8-9 p.m., followed by the late starts for older-skewing dramas “Madam Secretary” (#2t: 8.2/12 from 9-10 p.m.) and “The Good Wife” (#3: 7.0/11 from 10-11 p.m.). Pending news of a full season episode order for “Madam Secretary” is a given.
Full results for the “CSI” late start are not available, but the veteran forensic crime solver (which had its episode order cut from 22 to 18 in what could be its final season) did score a 5.4/10 in the 11 p.m. half.
With the Sunday competition more severe than usual, there was not much left for ABC, which opened with an encore of animated Disney XD series “Star Wars Rebels: Sparks of Rebellion” at a 1.6/ 3 in the overnights (#4) from 7-8 p.m. Next was “Once Upon a Time” at a fourth-place 4.2/ 6 from 8-9 p.m., which slipped by 11 percent from the 4.7/ 7 from one week earlier, followed by “Resurrection” at a series-low 3.1/ 4 from 9-10 p.m. and “Revenge” at a 3.4/ 6 (#4) at 10 p.m. Despite only scoring a 3.4, “Revenge” was still 42 percent above failed year-ago time period occupant “Betrayal” (2.4/ 4 on 10/27/13).

Scared for Revenge :(
ReplyDeleteIf Revenge really managed to build on Resurrection, those would be strong positive news for it.
ReplyDeleteso no result for CSI this week ? I think they didn't aired the episode everywhere and aired a repeat in some zones... What a mess...
ReplyDeleteMe too
ReplyDeleteI hope revenge didn't hit a new low
ReplyDeleteI hope it will stay at a 1.2, in the HH, it builds on Resurrection, I hope it reflects with the demo
ReplyDeleteI would be fine with it if it was at a 1.2. Just not a 1.1
ReplyDeleteHope OUAT does well in the ratings *fingers crossed*
ReplyDeletesame
ReplyDeleteIt would make it look better then how it currently is
ReplyDeleteResurrection doesn't stop dropping! I like the show, so it's sad to see it doing so bad.
ReplyDeleteAt least it does make Revenge looks better. I bet it'll be on the 1.2-1.3 range again.
So how low will Resurrection go today? 1.2? 1.1?
OUAT will be around 2.4/2.5 this week.
ReplyDeleteShould do around 2.4-2.5 from what I'm looking at; those are still pretty strong ratings, but it does show erosion from all the hype it had early on
ReplyDeleteI hope your right about revenge hopefully it's not a 1.1
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't worry too much about this week ratings given the extra competition
ReplyDeleteHH are tricky, and the last time we saw Revenge getting a 3.4 in HH- episode 2 I think- it had a 1.2, so it should do the same. It could even go to 1.3, but we'll have to wait and see. The early markets could give us an even clearer idea of what it did
ReplyDeleteThat's true, but we have to hope that doesn't translate into ongoing problems next week; sometimes all it takes is a one week hit from stiff competition and it already affect plenty of shows ratings
ReplyDeleteOUAT is sure to rebound to next week, still a good rating anyway so im not worried
ReplyDeletetrue but I think OUAT will rebound- It was facing World Series and Football on both CBS and NBC. That's a lot!
ReplyDeleteyeah, and even though OUAT skews mainly female it does have a good chunk of male audience- like me for example- who may have tune in for either the World Series or Football
ReplyDeleteIt would have to fall A LOT more to even be considered in danger, so no worries.
ReplyDeleteIt's possible that a chunk of OUAT's male audience tuned in for the World Series, so it could bounce back next week. I at least expect a lot of audience coming back for "Smash the Mirror" on November 16 as it is gathering quite some momentum
Revenge is going to outrate Resurrection, this one is dead.
ReplyDeleteYh, I hope that episode doesn't disappoint! Last nights episode was brilliant as well so word of mouth could help it rebound a bit too
ReplyDeleteSame here. The only bit that was kind of underwhelming was everything involving Snow, but everything else was flawless
ReplyDeleteIt fell quicker than I expected. And to think that during its 8 episode run on the spring it usually built on OUAT!
ReplyDeleteMidwest and eastern where preempted at the last minute. No CSI airing at all central and eastern. Damn Sunday night Football
ReplyDeleteThat explains a lot since resurrection is in the losers and revenge is not
ReplyDeleteI was thinking "wow, these numbers are early", but then I realized it was because the clocks went back an hour in this region.
ReplyDeleteCrossing my fingers for Madam Secretary. Still waiting for full season orders from CBS.
I think CBS is waiting for Scorpion and Stalker.
ReplyDeleteI wish ABC would put The Whispers after OUAT, it's a better fit than American Crime.
ReplyDeleteThey can't wait much longer to order full seasons. Scorpion is a sure thing, as is NCIS: New Orleans. What's taking them so long is deciding what to do with Madam Secretary and Stalker.
ReplyDeleteIf Scorpion falls after 2BG & TM, I can't see the point to order more episodes. I'd rather have full seasons of Stalker & MS :)
ReplyDeleteI have the feeling The Whispers will premiere after SHIELD
ReplyDeleteIt's possible, they haven't decided on the midseason schedule yet.
ReplyDeleteScorpion has proven it can stand on its own so I can't imagine it will suddenly crash. I would like to see full seasons for all four but that's not gonna happen.
ReplyDeleteAlso, some of the male viewers probably took the TV remote from their wives and forced them to DVR Once instead of watching live. People are still sharing TVs in households..
ReplyDeleteEven if it did, I still think both shows won't continue to next season..
ReplyDeleteA 10:57 start time with The Good Wife as a lead in is like the worst position for a show. Last minute preemption is good
ReplyDeleteIf Stalker has a full season, it'll be 18 episodes not more. Battle Creek could be used as a filler, The Mentalist is gone after season 7 so they could air it anytime. CSI Cyber is set to air after CSI ends. It is possible they order full seasons for the 4 dramas
ReplyDeleteI think Revenge may have beaten Resurrection.
ReplyDeleteit shouldn't be so bad for OUAT not worried
ReplyDeleteIm not worried about ouat as long as it's not in the danger zone I won't worry. On the other hand crossing my fingers that revenge does not get less then a 1.2
ReplyDeleteCBS wants to kill CSI or what ?
ReplyDeleteABC has bigger problems like the rest of the line up and Tuesday night.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about ouat its like abcs 3rd highest drama
ReplyDeleteI find it so funny how Marc always tries to defend old skewing shows. He should know better than anyone total viewers don't matter.
ReplyDeleteWhile I do think CSI will end this year (the ratings aren't good and they have cut episodes), I don't think they are trying to kill this by pulling it last night. If it hadn't been pulled it would have run after 11:00 and not even been included in early ratings and frankly would have suffered, because you have to be really devoted to a show to stay up to midnight to watch it. As someone who watched The Mentalist I lived with this all last year.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty much why his winners/losers list is inaccurate.
ReplyDeleteRevenge at a 1.2. So that must mean it hit a 1.0
ReplyDeleteI think he's defending shows he watches ;)
ReplyDeleteLol. Same arg here
ReplyDeleteI hope not, what was the Top 25 Markets last week?
ReplyDelete1.5
ReplyDelete1.5 and it ended hitting a 1.3 and the week before that it was 1.4 and ended up hitting a 1.2
ReplyDeleteLet's hope, it's not going to be the same today :( bc others shows don't always have this trend
ReplyDeleteMe too I'm scares for revenge. If it hits a 1.0 there's no way it could recover
ReplyDeleteWhichever of Madam Secretary and Stalker gets a full season order survives. Whichever doesn't won't.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you : ) actually I was talking about this season's ratings . Sunday night is really a very bad schedule and I think that CSI: Cyber won't have a single chance .
ReplyDeleteI don't live in the US then I don't have the same problem neither for CSI nor for The Mentalist but CSI has a special place in my fav tv shows : )
:) good for OUAT but sorry to hear AOS will get in danger. I wanted S3. Not fair, a shame if it gets cancelled!
ReplyDeleteFast nationals
ReplyDeleteResurrection 1.2
Revenge 1.1
Probably, yeah. I'm wondering whether they are gonna put Battle Creek. I think Wednesday's 10 pm would be the best time slot for that so that means Stalker should go.
ReplyDeleteThat's a series low for revenge
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that revenge seriously hit a 1.1
ReplyDeleteseries low for both Revenge & Resurrection
ReplyDeleteI'm so upset right now I can't believe it
ReplyDeleteI feel you. :'(
ReplyDeleteI hope that it will be ajusted up
ReplyDeleteMe too
ReplyDeleteI think the winners/losers list is more about the show he loves and the show he hates. That's why no matter what Supernatural gets he will always try to put it in the loser category.
ReplyDeleteCBS has pretty much promised that CSI will get a final season. Since they didn't make the announcement with the episode trim from 20 to 18, it won't happen this year. Thank goodness CBS decided to hold last night's episode. I get that CBS wants to pump aging 60M with NFL lead-in, but a bridge sports wrap up, like OT on FOX does pretty well. Is it really worth tossing so many episodes to 10:30 or later?
ReplyDeleteIf they keep Cyber at Sunday 10, which I don't think they will, it will only get pushed one, maybe two times because of golf or basketball. It won't have this nonsense.
And Once?
ReplyDeleteSeems CBS is improving.
ReplyDeleteYep.
ReplyDeleteI know, he has this grudge against Supernatural, even though he used to be nastier about it.
ReplyDeleteEven adjusted up to a 1.2 is not good. It's too early in the cycle for those numbers.
ReplyDeleteFootball overrun, it has high chances of adjusting down
ReplyDeleteI know I guess we can only hope that it will rise next week

The entire ABC lineup is down. I hope it is because of the World Series so that it can bounce back next week, but still looks pretty dreadful.
ReplyDeleteOUAT back to low 2s... well, I guess the Frozen boost couldn't last forever. Resurrection deader than dead. Revenge looking ugly, but I guess it could be worse.
Next week without the World Series we may see better numbers, but man! This is depressing
OUAT: 2.2/2.3
ReplyDeleteResurrection: 1.3/1.1
Revenge: 1.1/1.1
omg Revenge needs to be moved after HTGAWM finish for a bit
ReplyDeleteThe ABC lineup keeps getting hit. I hope it's just because of the World Series so they bounce back next week.
ReplyDeleteResurrection is deader than dead, and should Revenge not recover I expect that this season will be announced as its last.
Revenge is not getting that timeslot, ABC would probably give it to a new show to give that a chance than this one which seems to be on its last legs.
ReplyDeleteI think the ratings would rise even if it aired at 11PM after HTGAWM
ReplyDeleteWow those ABC numbers are horrid suddenly I don't feel cared to AOS and castle anymore although hope revenge adjusts up
ReplyDeleteugh Baseball still not done!
ReplyDeletesecret & lies is scheduled
ReplyDeleteThat's Revenge's problem, any drop is devastating to a low rated show.
ReplyDeleteWhy would they provide a good timeslot to a dead show when they're trying to launch new hits that could hopefully hit syndication too one day?
ReplyDeleteOUAT will defo rebound from 2.3 next week.
ReplyDeleteBummer for Once. I hope it's adjusted up and does better next week when the World Series is finally over..
ReplyDeleteExactly, they're not wasting it for a show in its' 4th season barely even holding on to low 1s.
ReplyDeleteAnd? They'll give it to a new show to give it a chance not Revenge.
ReplyDeletepretty sure OUAT is against Baseball & Football
ReplyDeleteNext week again? *sigh*
ReplyDeleteWhere is CSI?
ReplyDeleteI wish Revenge fans would stop this-Revrnge needs a good lead in stuff. Its in it's fourth seAson ,it shouldn't need a good leadin to get good ratngs anymore.Theyre not gonna give a show ,a low rated bubble show ,a better timeslot when it's in it's last season or two -they'll use it for a new show.
ReplyDeleteloll i just said the show will be secret & lies
ReplyDeletenono i was saying of course it will rise cause this week they were against baseball and football...baseball will end this week
ReplyDeleteWhen you look at Revenge hitting a series low, I think CBS has done well by not airing new CSI episode it would have hurt the ratings..
ReplyDeleteoh i just realize loll
ReplyDeleteOh phew! Yh there was a lot of compitition, a lot of people didn't like last weeks episode too so that didn't help but last nights episode was one of the best imo :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think Castle is in danger yet, as for Shield it could go either way.
ReplyDeletethe aired a repeat at 11pm because of delays (football)
ReplyDeletesorry i dont watch ouat
ReplyDeleteI hope The Walking Dead beats football. Last night's episode was amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter, they're going to use it to help a new show and not waste a bump on Revenge.
ReplyDeleteHow a OUAT already at 2.3?Hooefully it adjust up, but I worry how it'll go in spring
ReplyDeleteIt had a lot of tough competition, and it actually rose a bit last spring so I wouldn't worry :)
ReplyDeleteExcept CSI was aired in some markets but not in others. So the CSI ratings are still to come.
ReplyDeleteFor Revenge it's already worse, it's a low rated show that's sinking to a new low which is very bad no matter the spin.
ReplyDeleteYeah but that was cause the majority of Viewrs liked the Wicked arc ,I'm not sure the same will be true of the Malicifent /Knave arc.Plus DST and with Once being on so early,it'll get hit with that too.I hope it'll do good in spring.Im suprised the Frozen effect didn't last lnger.Like your avatar.
ReplyDeleteI have come to expect the fact that revenge won't ever rise. That will be the last time that I will even care about its ratings. Just hope that they announce this as the final season.
ReplyDeleteThey should've done that earlier, oh well, there's still time.
ReplyDeleteA lot of the fans have wanted Maleficent back for a while, those who don't like the frozen arc will probably come back to see it too. I wouldn't worry, it's pretty safe to say the show will get an S5 at this point, it would have to drop a lot more to be in any danger. And thanks :)
ReplyDeleteCBS aired a CSI(R) in MT/PT, but it doesn't count since CSI was bumped from ET/CT.
ReplyDeleteThey haven't scheduled midseason yet though.
ReplyDeleteIt would have to get Revenge/Resurrection numbers or close to it before panicking.
ReplyDeleteYa I guess your right. They should announce it midseason
ReplyDeleteThe will promote the Spring arc as the "Final Revenge."
ReplyDelete#saverevenge
ReplyDeleteno,NO NOT these hashtags again.
ReplyDeletePlease, I beg you...don't become the next BatB!!!
So, to summarize, bye bye Resurrection and Revenge.
ReplyDeletehahaha
ReplyDeleteThey can't announced that it's the final season until they sell the show to syndication.
ReplyDelete#nogodsnokingsnosavingsonlymac
ReplyDeleteOUAT is decent not worried
ReplyDeleteWhy so low for Once?
ReplyDeleteWUT.
ReplyDeleteOk, 2.3 for OUAT is not that bad considering Football and World Series but damn.
So.. now that we know that both Resurrection and Revenge will be cancelled..
Can we least have a descent end for the both of them?
its actually 2.6 refresh the page and look at the top!
ReplyDeleteit actually got a 2.6 if you refresh this page and look at the top!
ReplyDeleteThat's not the actual ratings, that's just in the top 25 markets
ReplyDeleteThat's the Top 25 number. The nationals number is 2.3.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. Revenge is over.
ReplyDeleteSure they can. The syndication market for serials is very limited - even for the most successful ones. It's not the same as procedurals and comedies.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, OUAT is in 0 danger. No need to worry at all ;)
ReplyDeleteI believe CSI aired repeats, no original was aired last night.
ReplyDeleteI think that's a sure thing IMO. I've felt that since the upfronts!
ReplyDeleteI look at Resurrection and Revenge and think: "Thank God I'm a OUAT Fan!"
ReplyDeleteDamm... After a good week Revenge went way down. And OUAT is going down aswell...
ReplyDeleteThey really need to announce this as the final season of Revenge already so that the writers can start writing towards a definitive ending. Both creatively and commercially, it's time for it to end.
