At a Comic Con panel Thursday celebrating Showtime’s critically beloved shows, the show runner for Weeds addressed the dramedy’s future going forward. When a convention-goer asked whether the coming season that begins Aug. 16 will be the show’s last, executive producer Victoria Morrow paused and then gave a very simple answer: “No.”

Gossip Girl producers have reportedly been contacted about creating original Gossip Girl episodes in China, featuring Chinese actors, for broadcast in Asia. "100 percent we would love to do that," [Josh] Schwartz tells the Post. On one hand, they really like their Gossip Girl in China: "They estimate that more people watch us online in China than watch us in all forms of viewing combined in the United States,” executive producer Stephanie Savage said.

Normally, people who finish med school and save other peoples' lives for a living are considered adults — that is, unless they're Doogie Houser. Or on Grey's Anatomy. After six seasons, the show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, says her characters are finally becoming adults — and that their problems will only get more grown-up.
TVGuide.com: What can you tell us about the upcoming season of Grey's Anatomy?Rhimes: With both Grey's and Private Practice, we've got two really exciting seasons coming up. It's been really fun to sit down and plan them. Our characters are growing up on Grey's. They're really adults now and that's been a real challenge, in how to let them be grownups and figure out what that means for them.
TVGuide.com: Meredith's miscarriage in the finale was heartbreaking. Now that she knows she wants to have a baby, will that be a focus for her this season?
Rhimes: It's possible. The theme for the entire season of Grey's this year is rebirth, so extrapolate from there.
TVGuide.com: James Tupper is coming in as a trauma counselor for the first three episodes. Are there any characters in particular taking it harder than others?
Rhimes: I think they're all taking it pretty hard in their own individual ways. We talked about it a lot, and the fact that there's this group of people that's been extraordinarily damaged by this experience. That's what's going to be carrying them forward, and it will change how they view their jobs, view themselves and view their relationships with one another. A lot of them were about to die. I think they're all fairly damaged and trying to recover.
TVGuide.com: Do you look at Lexie (Chyler Leigh) as the next Grey of Grey's Anatomy?
Rhimes: I have to be honest, I'm not really thinking of it that way. I don't think that's a conscious thought on my part, that we're trying to feed a new Grey of Grey's Anatomy. We have Meredith Grey, she is here and won't be going anywhere for the next two seasons. I haven't really been thinking about filling the shoes of somebody who's sitting right in front of me.
TVGuide.com: The Lexie, Mark (Eric Dane) and Alex (Justin Chambers) love triangle definitely got complicated. What's ahead for them?
Rhimes: A lot of people like to see a lot of people with Mark. I get a lot of mail about why Callie [Sara Ramirez] isn't with Mark, why Addison [Kate Walsh] isn't with Mark. Mark is a very juicy, interesting character and we're going to try to explore what happens next for both of those characters in a really interesting and, hopefully, a very non-predictable way.
TVGuide.com: After making sacrifices for each other in the finale, will we see a happy Callie and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) in the new season?
Rhimes: Callie and Arizona are going to be together; I don't know if happy is the right word. We're going to see them struggle with their relationship, where it's going and what that means for them. The reality of the situation is that they are two people who are trying to settle down together and figure out what that means. That's going to be really interesting to watch unfold.

Obvious question first: what, if anything, can you tell me about how you're going to deal with the Michael issue this year?
Well, you've got your Michael issue and you've got your Steve issue. The Michael issue is nothing but positive. We've got a chance to take a character and bring him through his final year on the show, and exit him - a character like Michael Scott. It's nothing but incredibly exciting. We don't have to do some season reset, we don't have to do fake jeopardy, we don't have to come up with some cliffhanger that ends up leading us into the same show we did before it. Things change. To be on the show as it grows is great.
Yeah, it's going to be hard to do a show without Steve. But if NBC came to me and said, "Develop a show for Ed Helms," I'd be thrilled. I think he's amazing, and obviously he's a film star. And I'd feel the same way about Rainn Wilson. If they told me to do a romance about John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer, I'd be thrilled. And we've got 'em all. We've got such a deep bench that we're going to be all right.
Have you and Greg decided who it's going to be?
No. We have a plan, and the plan allows for a number of possibilities to present themselves.
Both internal and external?
Yeah. We're going to try to replace Michael Scott in a way that he would be replaced on the show, where they would search for someone new. And we will do it on air.
What's Kathy Bates' availability now that she's doing the new show ("Harry's Law") for NBC?
She is making herself available when she can. It's not great availability. It's pretty grueling for the hour-long shows. So it'll be rough.
So can I ask you, when you first realized this was going to be happening, regardless of where you're going now, was your first inclination, "We need to promote from within" or "We need to bring someone in from the outside"?
I definitely felt promote from within. That was my first thing. Every once in a while, a name is floated in to us, and we have to consider it. We get some big names floated, agents call, and then we're called. I don't want to replace Steve Carell. I don't think there is replacing Steve Carell. So the easiest way to do that is to keep what we have. But I also want to stay true to the company. I want to know what Dunder-Mifflin would do. I think they would take a good look at who's there, who's capable. They might try someone. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. They might bring in someone from the outside first, and maybe that will work and maybe it won't. I think a lot of our answers on the show, when we're confused about what to do, come from trying to protect the honesty of the show.
Looking back over last season, how do you feel it went?
Last season? I think we had a strong season. How did you feel?
I think there were parts of it where there were some story ideas where you didn't follow through as much as you could. For instance, Jim and Michael switching jobs - that was half of an episode. I could have seen two or three out of that for instance.
Yeah. I see that. We could have mined that more.
It seemed like there were a couple of different big story ideas and you bounced from one to another. Was it a case of, "We've taken the bankruptcy story as far as we want to, and now we're going to do this, and now we're going to do this," or did something else get in the way?
Bankruptcy got pretty depressing, and we also saw a leveling out of the depression, and we felt that we could level things out at Dunder-Mifflin as well. They were bought by a company that makes sense. It was a printer company that wanted their sales arm. It felt like a white knight came in and it was appropriate. Jim as the boss wasn't quite as fun as Jim as the prankster. So we pulled back from that.
And how do you feel the company is different with Sabre in charge than with old Dunder-Mifflin corporate?
Well, what we have is - which I think is super-fun and I don't think we've really mined yet - is this really weak supervisor in Gabe. He has no personal strength, even though he has the authority. And that dynamic, I find very funny. I think we've got to bring that out more. So I like that. And then, when we brought in Kathy Bates, we talked about a lower-level Ross Perot. That's a fun character, and things can happen a little more emotionally. She can get a little bit angrier, whereas before everyone was corporate.
And you've moved Darryl upstairs. Was that a case of Craig being a little more available now, or you had a specific idea in mind?
We do. Craig's one of the candidates for coming up and being manager.
I think that would be kind of fantastic, actually. That way, you don't have to move anyone else out of a role they've been in for a long time. And yet you don't have to bring in someone from the outside. And everybody likes Darryl.
Everybody loves Darryl, he's hysterical. Yeah. Everybody just wants more of him.
So we're going to find out relatively early that Michael is leaving?
No. People in the real world know, but it doesn't feel real to me that you know you're going to leave a job in a year - at least a job like that. Maybe a senator knows he's going to leave in a year. Again, we'll try to respect the world.
In the finale, there's talk of Michael getting back with Holly, and there have been reports about Amy Ryan. What's her availability for this year?
We got her back for an arc. And then I expect it will play into Michael leaving.
That seems like the only nice ending Michael could get. But since we're not going to get into that for a while, what are some of the stories from this year you can tell me about?
In our premiere, we deal with nepotism. Michael hires his nephew. He's not the most conscientious worker. We deal with the office dynamic about that. Timothy Olyphant's going to come, and he's going to play this salesman who is just kind of a threat to Dunder-Mifflin. He's fantastic. He ends up beating out Michael, Dwight and Jim together, and selling at higher prices. So they do a little bit of a sting: they set up a fake company to try to figure out how he sells so well. Michael is going to come in with a cold sore one day, and he's going to learn that that's a form of herpes, and he's going to feel that he has to contact every woman he's ever been with and let them know that he has herpes.
Speaking of salesmen, it occurs to me: is Dave Koechner at all in play? Could Todd Packer come in from the field and be put in charge of the branch?
Absolutely. He's a name that the network has brought up. He's not being talked about the most.
Ultimately, who decides this? Is it you and Greg or is it the network?
The network has been very supportive. We've presented a case for what we wanted to do, and they said okay, and then we changed our minds. And then we presented another case, and they said okay. As long as we let 'em know what we're doing and bring them into the fold, they've been very supportive.
Well, people have suggested that when Steve leaves, the show should end, since he's the star of the show. Do you feel that maybe bringing in someone new, or promoting someone to a new level of responsibility maybe gives the show a second life this late in its run?
I do. I agree with that. I won't say it's the best thing that can happen to the show, with Steve Carell leaving. You're insane. You're an insane person if you say that. But I do feel like a whole new level of story pitching opens up.
Former "The Office" writer - and sometime guest star as Mose Schrute - and current "Parks and Recreation" showrunner Mike Schur interrupts to mock his old friend Lieberstein.
Tell me about Mose returning. I hear Mose comes back.
Mose does come back this year!
Schur insists, "Give him the big news."
The big news is that Mose is a candidate for replacing Michael Scott.
Schur, enjoying the joke, asks, "Just a candidate?"
I would say the leading candidate. Dwight's put in charge of picking a successor, and he picks his cousin Mose because he's not a threat. So Mose is in charge. First thing Mose does is to fire Dwight. He's like, "I'm tired of working on your farm for so long."
Schur: "The whole thing is a long con. Mose is super-smart, and like a brilliant criminal mastermind. So putting him in charge leads to big trouble."

Matt: So have you guys started preparation for next season?
Angela: Oh, we are back to work! We went back to work on Monday -- this is our first week back, though pre-production has been there a few weeks before us. We're all back on set!
So is there anything you can spill for us about this upcoming season?
I do know that Holly (Amy Ryan) is going to come back a few episodes so that's going to be interesting. There's a lot more Dwight and Angela stuff already just in the first week back. It's kind of fun because we have this procreation contract, and Angela's really holding him to it! She's wanting to get preggers! So there's some really funny stuff with her pressuring him for sex and making appointments for sex and things like that.
What else can I tell you ... I know that the whole Erin / Andy thing is going to have a twist, though I'm not sure how. I think it's going to be interesting now. They're sort of like this cute couple who is always miscommunicating, and I think that's going to come into play. Jim and Pam -- there's going to be an episode where [Cecelia] is baptized and everyone weighs in on it. That hopefully won't be too horribly inappropriate! (Laughs.)
One storyline I left out that is hilarious -- there's an incident where Michael is required to go to counseling with Toby. That's going to be hilarious because he hates Toby, and now he's going to have to open up.

After whispering to ghosts and playing a masseuse in a summer TV movie, Jennifer Love Hewitt is taking on the most serious role of her career. "In our third hour, airing September 29, Jennifer will be playing a woman named Vicki who has been raped multiple times and is afraid to leave her house," Law & Order: SVU executive producer Neal Baer tells me exclusively. "One of the reasons we wanted to do this episode is because it addresses Mariska Hargitay's passion for rape kits, which can help gather evidence to convict the rapists. But for some reason these kits have been sitting around unopened in cities all over the country."
Mariska, who has brought attention to the value of rape kits through her Joyful Heart Foundation, will also be shooting scenes in Los Angeles for this same episode. Since this will be the lead in to Law and Order: Los Angeles' premiere, it seems likely that Mariska's Olivia will be interacting with the new franchise's cast to help lead viewers into Dick Wolf's latest franchise. No comment from Baer on that.

Thanks to klutzy_girl for the heads up.
Courteney Cox is cooking up something bigger than a title change to lure viewers to the undiscovered gem that is her ABC comedy Cougar Town: Jennifer Aniston!
After a year’s worth of will-she-or-won’t-she speculation, Aniston is nearing a deal to reunite with her former Friends costar (and real-life BFF) in an early episode of the show’s second season (premiering on Sept. 22), sources confirm to me exclusively.
ABC declined to comment, while Cougar Town executive producer Bill Lawrence would only say, “I would love for it to happen but there’s nothing to talk about yet.”
This would mark only the second time the pair have worked together on a scripted series since Friends went off the air in 2004. Their first reunion was in 2007, when they re-teamed for an episode of Cox’s FX dramedy Dirt.

Hold on to your Vervain and copies of Twilight, fangbangers. Supernatural is about to have some fun with your favorite vein-drainers. "We're doing an episode about how vampires pretending to be Edward Cullen or the Salvatore brothers or Bill Compton are bad for you," Supernatual showrunner Sera Gamble tells TV Guide Magazine.
At the CW/Showtime/CBS party during the annual Television Critics Association press tour, the creepy drama's exec producer revealed that one of Season 6's upcoming episodes (tentatively titled "Live Free or Twi-Hard") will take fans' ongoing obsession with undead hotties and hand it to Dean and Sam for a little skewering. "There's a mythology reason [as to why] we are revisiting a lot of monsters we've dealt with before on the show...including vampires," says Gamble. "And when we were conceptualizing a vampire episode, we thought, 'Wow there's never been a better time to be a vampire.' Chicks are just throwing themselves at them! They think that 'vampire' equals 'I'm not going to try to have sex with you.'" Of course, in a world where vamps actually exist, that kind of thinking can get you killed. Or worse. "They will still take advantage of our children! They will turn you into a vampire or eat you." Maybe if that original title doesn't fly, they can go with "There Will Be True Blood."

OSCAR NOMINEE TERRENCE HOWARD AND COREY STOLL JOIN REGULAR CAST OF NBC'S NEW 'LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES'
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - July 30, 2010 - Oscar nominee Terrence Howard ("Hustle & Flow") and Corey Stoll ("Salt") will join the regular cast of NBC's new drama "Law & Order: Los Angeles" (Wednesdays, 10-11 p.m. ET), which premieres September 29.
Howard will portray a district attorney and will share the position with Alfred Molina ("Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time"), who plays Deputy District Attorney Morales, in alternate episodes.
Stoll will play Detective T.J. Jaruszalski and will partner with Detective John Winters (previously announced Skeet Ulrich).
The announcement was made by Dick Wolf, creator and executive producer, "Law & Order: Los Angeles" and Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.
Wolf said, "I feel like manager of the 1961 Yankees. I have my Mantle and Maris."
"Having Terrence and Corey on board this ambitious new series adds to an already impeccable cast," said Bromstad. "We are excited to see this series continue in a new locale in Los Angeles that will add infinite story possibilities."
Howard is an Oscar nominee for his performance in "Hustle & Flow." His recent feature film credits include "Iron Man" and voicing a character in "The Princess and the Frog." Howard also starred in such films as "Crash," "August Rush," "Get Rich or Die Tryin'," "Ray," "Wifey," "Pride," Idlewild," "The Players Club," "Angel Eyes" and "Mr. Holland's Opus."
In addition, among Howard's television are the movies "Lackawanna Blues" (for which he received an Image Award), "The O.J. Simpson Story" and "King of the World" (as Cassius Clay). He also was a series regular in "Sparks" and guest-starred in "New York Undercover," "NYPD Blue" and "Picket Fences."
Stoll currently appears in the feature film "Salt." His additional film credits are "Push" and "North Country." Stoll also guest-starred on "NCIS," "The Nine," "ER," "Law "& Order," The Good Wife" and "The Unit." He recently appeared on Broadway in the revival of Arthur Miller's "A View From The Bridge."
"Law & Order: Los Angeles" is the latest iteration of the most successful brand in the history of primetime television. The series follows the successful model of "Law & Order," split between the police and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders.

The exhaustive search for a new title for ABC’s Cougar Town—one that better reflects the show’s evolution from single-woman-on-the-prowl sitcom to dysfunctional-family comedy—has been scrapped, exec producer Bill Lawrence confirms to me exclusively.
“I’m not changing the title,” Lawrence tells me. “We never thought of a good new one, which kind of sucks. And when you look at the modern landscape of television, changing the title means changing your DVR and all this other stuff.”
Lawrence says he’s hopeful the publicity surrounding the proposed title change will “get the message out” that Cougar Town has become a different (and vastly improved) show.
“It’ll be a funny burden to have,” he shrugs. “It might be the worst titled show of all time.”

NBC upped Rob Lowe to a series regular on Parks and Recreation - one of many announcements the network made today during its annual session with the nation’s TV critics. NBC also revealed that Kathy Bates will return for a guest spot on The Office, while Drew Carey will guest star on Community.
In other news, 30 Rock will perform a live episode of the show from New York’s Studio 8H on Oct. 14. And NBC closed a development deal with Peter Berg’s Film 44, which means the network is still committed to rebooting Prime Suspect for a possible midseason berth. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will kick off with a two-hour premiere on Sept. 22, Parenthood will bow on Sept 14, followed by the debut of the Jimmy Smits drama Outlaw on Sept. 15, and The Apprentice will return with a two-hour premiere Sept. 16.
The new drama Law & Order: Los Angeles will bow Sept. 29.

I was the first to tell you that Bones, in Season 6, will be introducing its third recurring serial killer (after Gormogon and Gravedigger). Now I have exciting new details to share about this baddie. He'll be a sniper — just like Booth was before he teamed up with Brennan!
"You have to be incredibly cold and calculated to be a sniper," says Emily Deschanel, who is already mourning the loss of one squintern whom series creator Hart Hanson says will be taken out by the sniper. "I don't want anyone to die."
The fourth episode of the new season sounds like a strange one — and of particular interest to fans of the supernatural. "It will appear to Brennan that she is solving her own murder," Hanson says. "She is looking at a body and slowly realizes it's her, which leads her to rethink her entire life." This is no dream, insists Hanson. "She'll try to keep it hidden from Booth for as long as she can, and will ultimately change how she approaches him."
The far-out concept appeals to Emily Deschanel, who tells me, "I'm intrigued by this. It sounds very creative. I'm sure they'll be some fear for Bones, which she'll try to overcome with scientific analysis."
The season premiere (Thursday, September 23) will open with glimpses of Booth in Afghanistan, Brennan and Daisy in the Maluku Islands and Angela and Hodgins in Paris. "Brennan and Daisy are looking for evidence of cross-breeding between two ancient species of man," says Hanson. Meanwhile in Afghanistan, "Booth is playing lifeguard. We see him training other people. And in Paris, Angela and Hodgins are having exactly the life they wanted. Why would they ever come back to solve crimes in D.C."
Expect Booth to brings back a souvenir from the battlefield in the form of new love interest, war correspondent Hannah Burley. David Boreanaz, who will be directing Episodes 10 and 16, says he read with three women up for this recurring, open-ended role, but it worked best with actress Katheryn Winnick. "There's good chemistry — a lot of trust and very relaxed," he says. "The network has final say, I just give my influence." As for what his character likes about Hannah, Boreanaz says, "she likes being out in the field and has a big sense of adventure. Things he sees in her he also sees in Bones. It'll be an exciting opening. One thing I'm promoting this year is getting some more action involved. In five seasons, I think they've used 10 percent of the action I'm capable of doing."
Of course the action fans most want is between Booth and Brennan. And in the premiere, it seems Brennan wants that too. "She's had a lot of time to think in the Maluku Islands and contemplate her future, and I think she regrets having said 'no' to Booth," says Deschanel. "I think him having a new girlfriend will complicate that, but she loves him and wants him to be happy."

Hello everyone, THIS is Big Brother 12 – The Double Edition
In this edition, I’m going to cover the last 2 episodes, which were EXPLOSIVE! This week featured maybe one of the best all-time LIVE eviction episodes EVER! Let’s get started, shall we?
WEDNESDAY – The Set Up
Big Brother replayed the nomination ceremony where Andrew and Kathy were put up and both a little confused by it. Considering the entire house wants Rachel and Brendon out, Matt decided to play the game for himself and put up “the two floaters”. Andrew is the most upset by this and decides he needs to shake up the game for him to have a chance at survival. That is pretty odd considering Matt flat-out told Andrew he was going up as a pawn and Kathy was his target. Andrew starts talking to himself, saying “stupid, stupid, stupid” and the game is on.
Andrew being more nervous now that Brendon has won, decides to devise a scheme that he will openly say he’s going after Brendon and Rachel. Hopefully, that will earn the rest of the houses trust and he will be safe. At the PoV Ceremony, Brendon gives both Kathy and Andrew a chance to plead their case. Kathy says she doesn’t expect or want Brendon to use the PoV on her while Andrew took the complete opposite approach, almost demanding that Brendon uses the PoV on him. He states to the house, “This worked for Matt, so I’m going to try it. Brendon and Rachel, I’m coming after you.”, Brendon does NOT use the PoV and we have our official nominees for eviction.
THURSDAY NIGHT – The Fireworks!
Big Brother gives up a quick peek back to the PoV meeting where Andrew demands for Brendon to use it on him. However, Brendon does NOT use the PoV and game on. Some HG’s were confused at Andrew’s speech while Matt says that everyone knows it was BS.(not everyone!) Rachel goes to her room to think about stuff and Brendon comes in and asks if she is ok. Rachel tells him that she’s upset with what Andrew just said and she doesn’t understand why Brendon trusts him. Brendon decides he has to let Rachel in on the plan and tells her he knew what he was going to say. She says she doesn’t believe Brendon and starts feeling betrayed that he didn’t let her know as well. Matt informs Andrew that people didn’t buy his speech and the house is shifting against him.
A little later, we see Brendon and Rachel outside talking about Andrew’s allegiance. Brendon says he knows what’s going on and it will be OK and he said it, those 3 little magical words. Brendon breaks out “I Love You” and goes in for a kiss but Rachel backs away from it and WOW MOMENT #1, Brendon starts to wonder about his relationship with Rachel. (Worst TV Break-Up EVER – Coming Soon!) Next, we see Andrew breaking down completely and crying a little bit about he has no one in the house.
He decides enough is enough and goes right after Kristen saying he knows she’s “playing him like a fiddle”. Kristen doesn’t take this very well and goes into the bedroom to confront him. WOW MOMENT #2 – Andrew and Kristen go into full-on battle mode, both yelling at each other, saying how each is digging it’s own grave. The rest of the house is completely shocked at what just happened and have all turned against Andrew at this point.
Back to the living room, Julie asks her pointless questions to the house and Lane had no clue what she was saying because his answer didn’t make sense, whatsoever. We also see Matt’s wife(she’s not what I expected and not in a good way), talking about Matt’s lie about her having a disease. She didn’t like it very much(she probably got hammered from all her relatives about it) but understood why he did it and even helped him by including that into her letter. Julie asks Rachel if she’s surprised that she’s not on the block, she says yes and everyone laughs. The only funny part of this was Julie trying to make Enzo say words properly. She did get him to say something about slop and informed the house that no one would be on slop this coming week. REJOICE!
WOW MOMENT #3 - It’s time for the votes to be cast but first, each nominee will get the chance to plead their case. Kathy goes first and she says she is happy to know everyone and happy for her time in the house(boring). Andrew goes next and he flips out! Andrew throws everyone under the bus. He tells everyone that Kristen and Hayden are a couple and he goes on to repeat Kristen's opinions of the others, and that Ragan's being played, and that Kristen doubts Enzo's intelligence. He says that Hayden and Kristen are the real power couple that must be split up, and if they keep him in the house, he'll help them do it. Needless to say, everyone was shocked and confused but ultimately unified that Andrew needed to go so by an 8-0 vote, Andrew was evicted from the Big Brother House.
WOW MOMENT #4 – The Power is back up for grabs, in this competition called “Knock-Out”, two HG’s will go up against each other to answer a question. Get it right, you are safe, your opponent is knocked out and you get to choose the next two to compete. Hayden vs Britney started it off with Hayden winning. He chose Rachel vs Brendon. Rachel won Round 2 and she selected Hayden vs Kristen(YES! They HEARD what Andrew said). Kristen won and it went until the final two was Lane vs Rachel. Congratulations to our new HoH and ANOTHER shocking twist, the winner is ... RACHEL!!!
As BB returns from commercial, Julie informs America that they must choose who will receive an offer to become the new Saboteur. If they accept, they have 2 weeks to complete tasks without getting caught and will win $20,000. If the first person doesn’t accept, they will ask the next person in line to accept the offer.(Why would anyone turn that down?) WOW MOMENT #5 - Back to the back yard, Rachel and Kristen are going after each other, on LIVE TV! Kristen is trying to deflect what Andrew said, basically saying he was lying while Rachel kept attacking her. Kristen also said she already knows she is putting up her and Hayden and Rachel thanks her for making her decision. GAME ON!
Until Next Time,
Eric Scot

Thanks to paguan for the heads up.
To kick off its seventh season, ABC's Desperate Housewives are strapping on their chaps for a sexy Old West themed photo and video campaign shooting this weekend. "Yippee Ki-Yay," new housewife Vanessa Williams hollered to me on the Housewives set. "It's the Good, the Bad and the Desperate — or something like that. When I heard we were wearing Western wear, I was like, 'What!?' It's their seventh year, so I guess they're thinking, 'What's left we haven't shot?'"
The concept, to be shot by famed shutterbug Matthew Rolston, is actually taken from the old Gary Cooper western, High Noon, with Vanessa's Rene Perry as the new sheriff in town — complete with guns and cowboy hats. Watch out, ladies! I hear there's reason to fear Rene, as she'll be taking up residence in the home vacated by deceased troublemaker Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan).
No word yet on whether Vanessa, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman will be required to hop on horses, although Vanessa is certainly game. "I love horses and am an avid rider," says the star.
Well, this certainly beats the Housewives Laundromat campaign from a few years back. Don't it, pilgrim?

The Premise: Clara Musso, Cal’s new playmate/majority investor in The Lightman Group, has the team investigate when an attempt on a gubernatorial candidate’s life results in the murder of a campaign staffer.
The Personal: Supposedly mistaking his brotherly concern for something more, Emily kisses Loker. Cal hits Loker. Emily hits Cal. Cal hits the sheets with the Widow Musso.
The Resolution: The team discovers the dead staffer was deliberately targeted for assassination in order to conceal her part in the cover-up of a hit-and-run committed by the candidate’s wife. After Clara provides her friend, the candidate’s wife, with a false alibi, Lightman and Foster use the information to convince her to relinquish her financial stake in The Lightman Group. (Blackmail is such a prosecutable word.) The politician agrees to resign as his wife prepares to face charges. Cal apologizes to Loker.
What We Learned in this Episode:
Emily is Cal’s Mini-Me. From the ability to read facial cues to being sexually attracted to inappropriate partners, Emily is proving to be her father’s daughter. Odds are, that girl’s headed for trouble.
Cal gives, and Cal takes away. In this case, what he gives is a ride on the old Lightman rod and what he takes away is controlling interest in his company. Translation: Just because he’s having sex with someone doesn’t mean they’re bestest buddies. That position is already taken. Which leads us to…
Foster likes to listen. And we’re not talking just at work, either. Somewhere in between parsing a politician’s word choices and analyzing the pronoun use of a supposed suicide victim, Gillian finds the time to coquettishly question Cal about his rendezvous with Clara. Whether or not Foster’s a good girl is up for debate, but she certainly is a kinky one.
Do you believe Emily kissed Loker because she thought he was interested in her, or was it because she wanted to put an end to their conversation? What’s your opinion on Melissa George’s exit? Are you sorry to see her go, sorry she slept with Cal, or something in between? And Foster fans, just how badly are you looking forward to this? Sound off below!

No one puts Baby in a corner…except Gregory House.
Dirty Dancing‘s Jennifer Grey will find herself in a no-win situation when she guest-stars on House this fall, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Grey—who begins work on the House set today—will play Abbey, the mother of an infant daughter who is displaying signs of a life-threatening illness. As House and Co. investigate her daughter’s developing symptoms, Abbey is faced with a treatment decision for her newborn that could affect not only her baby’s life but her own.
Her episode is scheduled to air in mid-October.

This week's episode drops Annie into her first foreign mission where she has to convince someone to let go of their past and start a new life, but love gets in the way.
The episode begins at Georgetown University with Annie playing soccer with a student, Diego; she's trying to stop him from getting past her, then we jump cut to kids playing soccer in Venezuela. We focus on a guy who walks past the kids playing and up a flight of stairs. He asks an onlooker, "whose winning?". Vincent Ponces comes out and says "The government, Lopez. Only the government wins." Another guy starts walking up the stairs--Lopez is surrounded. Shots are fired and Lopez takes off running for his life. As Lopez runs we intercut with Annie chasing after Diego who has dribbled past her on the soccer field. Back to Lopez, he gets to his car and as he's about to start the engine, a man in the back seat wraps a cord around his neck. Game over. As he struggles we focus on a gold necklace Lopez is wearing.
We bounce back to Annie as Diego scores a goal. They head to a bench where Diego (played by 90210's Michael Steger) can't help but touch Annie's leg, he's looking to score off the field too. She sets him straight and then gets up to leave. Diego says he'll do anything if she stays. Annie says that she needs to get to his sister Julia.
Cut to Julia opening the door for Vincent Ponces, the same bad guy we saw earlier. He has a present for Julia, a golden necklace...the same one Lopez was wearing when he was killed (creep factor on a 1-10: 11!). We also learn that Vincent Ponces is married when Julia says "I thought Sundays belonged to your wife."
-Opening Credits-
Annie explains to Diego that his sister, Julia, is mixed up with Vincent Ponces, a corrupt government official and since Julia is Ponces' banker she's going to go down with him if Diego doesn't help. Annie leaves and Auggie (finally out of the office) sits down on the bench next to Diego.
At CIA headquarters, Auggie explains that Diego sat on the bench for 20 minutes and did nothing, no phone calls, or texting. Joan lets Auggie know that he's not supposed to be out in the field; she can't afford to lose him. Joan gives Annie her mission; just hold Diego's hand on the plane and then give him to the station agent in Venezuela.
Annie tells her sister, Danielle, that the Smithsonian wants her to checkout a letter in Venezuela. Danielle sees that seashell bracelet and tells Annie she needs to let go. Annie agrees and puts the bracelet in a box.
So when they get to Venezuela there's a problem (beside Diego putting his hand on Annie's rear end.) The station agent Diego is supposed to go with is nowhere to be found and for the past few days he hasn't checked in--its Lopez. So Joan and everybody back at HQ are deciding whether to kill the mission or continue on with Annie. They let Annie continue on with the help from two agents in Venezuela, Maria and Rodriguez.
They go and visit Julia at the bank. When alone Julia tells Annie that she doesn't like her seeing Diego; she calls Annie an America cougar chasing after a 20-year old (lol). Annie says that she's not after her brother; 'I'm here to talk with you.'
On the way to Julia's home, we see a bunch of kids calling Julia "The Mother of the Neighbourhood." Diego says that people love her here; she looks after everybody.
Annie tries to convince Julia that Ponces is corrupt; But Julia doesn't want to leave Venezuela or betray the man she loves. Annie says that she grew up an army brat and she got over always moving by burying pictures of each place in a box. Julia still isn't budging. When Annie says that she'll get burned by love, Julia figures out she's talking from experience and says Annie is a woman with walls around her heart; Annie doesn't have a comeback for that one. Later, Annie finally convinces Julia when she says do it to prove his innocence; prove us wrong and we'll go away. She agrees.
Annie calls Auggie and says that Ponces password changes every minute. He uses a small device that gives him the password called a fob. When he's inside the bank, he reads the password on the fob and he can access his account. The plan is to switch his with one that Julia has. Julia will make the switch after they all meet for lunch tomorrow.
At lunch, they meet Ponces. Annie talks about the Smithsonian and her interest in an old letter. Ponces is very interested in Annie, so much so, he throws a monkey wrench into the plan when he wants to tag along with her instead of staying with Julia.
Back at headquarters one of the Venezuelan agents says Julia is wearing Lopez's chain. Since they just located Lopez's body, which is in pieces, they realize Ponces knows that the CIA is after him. Joan with Auggie and Jai debate whether to kill the mission (again). Joan says Annie doesn't look like a CIA agent so Ponces won't suspect her. She lets the mission continue.
After lunch, Annie and Ponces drive off...drive isn't the word...blllaaaasssts off in a red Ferrari. Annie sees the fob on Ponces key chain. He suspects Annie is an agent but he doesn't get the proof he needs until he lets Annie take a turn at driving. Telling her to go faster and faster, she comes around a sharp turn that has a construction sign with some pylons --Annie swerves around the sign, down shifts into second gear, and does a 180 to a full stop. Ponces says only someone with considerable training could have done that. He pulls out a gun and tells her to get out....Annie then floors it and the gun goes off, nipping Annie in the shoulder. She has the car in a tailspin, she grabs Ponces door and he spins out. She drives off with Ferrari and the fob on the key chain.
She calls Auggie and he says to meet Julia and Diego at the bank. They have a guy outside who'll drive them to the airport when they're finished. Inside the bank, they check Ponces accounts and they see that the accounts are funding terrorist organizations. Meanwhile, Ponces and a couple of his goons come in looking for Julia. Annie and Julia have to run out the back; Julia, after some pleading from Annie, reluctantly leaves. A successful mission.
Back at Georgetown, Diego says to Annie he's not sure he did the right thing. We see Julia clutching the necklace, as if it might bring Ponces back to her; she's still not over him. Diego says that they leave for witness protection tomorrow; he says goodbye walks over to Julia and they leave agent Hughes. Annie sighs and Auggie appears (like a ninja out of nowhere) and says this is part of the biz.
Ponces isn't over Julia either, but it's not about love with him; he has a score to settle. Ponces makes his way to DC and he's contacted by Julia to meet up.
Annie, Diego and Agent Hughes (who was supposed to be watching Julia) race after her. Julia meets up with Ponces and he says he's going to take her back to Venezuela. She gets in the car and as they're about to drive off...our friend from earlier with that cord strangles Julia. Annie et al show up just in time. Agent Hughes jumps out and shoots the strangler in the back of the head, gruesome. Ponces drives off as Hughes takes another shot. The car slows to a stop, Ponces is dead.
At home, Annie takes the seashell bracelet out of the box. This is one memory she's not going to bury.
-Thanks for reading. See you guys next week.-
