True Blood - Episode 3.05 - Trouble

Hey everyone I was on vacation for a week but I have returned with this week AND last week’s True Blood recaps. Mattv, how do you do it? Next up is the True Blood from 2 weeks ago: Trouble.

We start off almost immediately where we left off the week before, with Tara tied up thanks to Franklin and waiting for King Russell to return. Talbot sniffs at Tara and remarks at how “spicy” she is. A fight between Talbot and Franklin almost ensues over Tara and Franklin ruining the decorum of the mansion, but they are interrupted by the just fed Russell, Bill, and Lorena. Tara lets out a shocked, “Bill?” and worry grows on his face. Ut oh…

After the intro we got back to where we were with Bill continuing to reinforce that he doesn’t know her. Both Russell and Lorena are more concerned with why she is even here, to which Franklin tells her she is with him. Franklin also tells the King that he has brought him a present in the form of all of Bill's notes on Sookie and her family history. The two of them retire to the study and when Tara asks him to please help her, he simply responds No and goes upstairs with Lorena, who he then calls a cow and pushes out of his room. Gotta love that Bill. Back in the fireplace room of the mansion Franklin and Russell are talking about the present, but most talking about why he brought Tara into his house. He continues his streak of being crazy and tells him that they are soul mates and she is different from all the other women he has tried to be with. Ho boy, this isn't going to be good. Russell now knows Bill is lying to him and thanks to Franklin also knows that Sookie is in Jackson. Run Sookie, Run!

Back in the car de Alcide Sookie yells at him to stop driving so crazy and brings up the fact that Debbie clearly is now a psycho/nazi werewolf fueled by vampire blood. Alcide says that Debbie used to be good (I'll believe it when I see it) and Sookie says “I’ve got to talk to him (Russell), to which Alcide flat out denies will happen.

Back again at the King's Mansion we see Eric being brought into Russell’s house with about 5 muscled Were-guards behind him. He asks to find Bill and sticks to the whole lie that he created but is promptly shut down when Russell calls in Bill who confronts him about trying to put the V selling blame on him. Eric (kind of) apologizes and says that he only did it because the Magister has his child, Pam, captive. Russell snarls at the mentioning of the Magister and further reflects that the only power he has is the power we give him (He gonna die). After some prodding by Russell Eric agrees to spend da night and gives proceeds to give Bill a creepy smile while sipping on a Blood-tini.

Over at the casa de Alcide Sookie is awakened by Debbie and Alcide fighting over what just happened at the bar. Debbie continues to defend what she did, but gets very angry when Sookie comes out and accuses her of sleeping with her man. Sookie uses some mind reading to snap back that Debbie had multiple affairs in the same house with many different men and Debbie shows that she is real trash by then threatening to shank Sookie when she gets the chance. Lets hope that never happens. Sookie is able to avoid shanking long enough to ask Debbie where Bill is and to find out that she had no idea. great.

Next we cut to Tara and Franklin who are spending the night together. Tara is sporting a new creepy 18th century gown that Franklin has gotten for her and it becomes apparent that Franklin wants her for longer than just tonight, possibly forever. When Tara receives a sassy text from Lafayette we get a glimpse at Franklin's ugly side as he threatens to rip her throat out if she is cheating on him. He responds to the text message for her and dazzles her with how fast he can text the word "Motherf___er into her phone. Yup he crazy.

Meanwhile at the Bon Temps Police Office the Officers are talking about which kind of mulch is the best for their gardens. Unfortunately for everyone Jason walks in and interrupts their conversation to start his first day at work but is assigned desk duty by Andy. A humorous montage of Jason fooling around with paper clips follows until he tells Andy he can't take it anymore and requests a special assignment that is outside of the office. Andy happily obliges...

Over at Sam's the Trash parents moving into Sam’s side-house while Terry moves into Arlene’s house. That's about it.

Back at Russell's mansion it is now morning and we see Tara biting off her rope to try and escape while Franklin is resting. She manages to get them off and even runs a little bit before being caught by Cooter in wolf-form. Man that guy ruins everything. Tara is brought back to a crying Franklin and starts to take advantage of his crazy. She realizes that all she has to do is give him a little attention and he will do almost anything for her, including removing her ropes and demanding that she be fed real food and not day lilies. The only catch though is that she has to agree to become his vampire bride the next night and I don't really think Lafayette is gonna be cool with that. Or anyone else. Seems like tonight is going to be her last night as a human.

Back at Alcide's Sookie uses her mind reading to find out that Alcide is going to see the packmaster for advice on how to deal with Russell's werewolf minions. Sookie demands to be brought along and when they get there we see that the packmaster is just an older guy who drives a station wagon and demands that Alcide do nothing about Russell's werewolves. Russell is clearly stronger then them so they should just let him do what he wants and eventually he will leave. Alcide agrees for the moment but swears when the pack master drives away. Something tells me Alcide should be the pack master and not old man flood.

At Merlottes Lafayette and Tommy are smoking cigarillos while Lafayette tries to teach him how to properly smoke one. And yes it is just as filled with gay subtext as you would expect in True Blood. All of the sudden the hunky day nurse Jesus shows up and Lafayette assumes that it must mean that his mother has died. Jesus says that's not the case but that he just wanted to see if he wanted to go and see a movie. When Lafayette tells him he still has to work Jesus says he will just wait the 9 hours. Man what a guy! It is good for a chance to see Lafayette so un-guarded and I personally think the two of them would make a cute couple. Lets hope it works out.

It turns out that Jason's "special assignment" was just to wash the patrol cars. This seems awful to Jason until a car drives by and he sees that it is the same mysterious girl that he saw the night he tackled the drug dealer at hotshot. Naturally he chases after her and pretend pulls her over, eventually learning that her name is Crystal and telling her to meet him tonight at Merlottes for a date. Man everyone is getting pared up this season.

Inside Merlottes Jessica tries to make small talk with Arlene who only rebukes here and her night only gets worse when she sees Hoyt walk in with a date. Unfortunately for Hoyt this date is super fun sized and can only talk about how she can't wait to get pregnant. Fortunately for Jessica, Tommy cheers her up and tells her that she is hot and could do a lot better. Does this mean a possible relationship between them is in the works? Jessica finishes off her scene by seating a new table and them glamoring them into not tipping Arlene as revenge for her being so cold and mean towards Jessica's vampire-ness. Over at the bar Sam gets a call. It's Joe lee and he wants Tommy to come home. Ut oh....

Back at the mansion Russell is quizing Bill about his file on Sookie and Bill continues to play dumb. Russell sees through it and concludes that Bill must have been intrigued by her telepathy and wanted to see where it came from. After this Bill is led back to his room as he is now deemed not trustworthy and he hears a knock on his door. Its Cooter and he goads Bill by telling him that Sookie is now sleeping with a werewolf. Bill does not like this and beats up Cooter, then disables a vampire guard and runs off to go and get Sookie. Way to go Bill! He does care!

Jason is at Merlottes waiting for Crystal and comes across Andy who tells him that all he has to do is pass the physical exam and pass the written exam and he will be a full police officer. Jason, upset at the idea of having to memorize answers leaves and thinks that Crystal has stood him up. Over at the pool table Lafayette and Jesus are playing pool and having one of the most innuendo filled conversations ever. I mean seriously you could cut the sexual tension with a knife. This bout to get steamy okayyyy,

Sam still trying to find out the Micken’s secret. What does Joe Lee want? Tommy won’t tell so it must be something bad

Jason leaves and sees Crystal outside and manages to talk her into going on a walk with him. As you would assume with Jason the walk soon turns into making out and Crystal surprises him by telling him that what they are doing can only happen tonight or else it would be dangerous. They then proceed to have sex. Has Jason met his match/soul mate?

Eric is taken on a tour with Talbot. Russell is super sort compared to Eric. In the midst of the weird sexual tension between Talbot and Eric, Eric sees a Viking crown that cues a sweet flashback of him back when he was a human. Werewolves attack them and kill his whole family. Take his father’s crown when Eric was just about to take the duties of the king. We find out the person who ordered the attack was none other than Russell! Oh snap Eric has a hidden agenda! But Eric can’t fight him because he is still just a human in the flashback. Can he fight him now that he is also a vampire? We will have to wait and see…

Back to Sam and Tommy who are watching TV and enjoying a beer. Hear an ominous sound in the woods, Joe Lee is drunk and wants Tommy, He says he owns him, Sam gets real violent and kicks him out, we see his dark side, Joe Lee blames it on his drinking and says Tommy needs to learn responsibility, but what kind of responsibility? What is your secret!

Sookie awakes in Alcide’s den to find…Bill! Yes he does care and has come to tell her she has to leave. The bad guys are coming. Unfortunately he tells her there is no hope for her. Just as he says that Russell comes and tells Cooter to come and get her. Bill is held back by a muscle head vampire and Alcide is kicked in the groin, but surprisingly when Cooter tries to grab Sookie he is propelled backwards thanks to the white glow that shoots out of her hand. Russell then laughs with all of his evil and says "Excellent!" Wooo boy what's gonna happen now that they have Sookie!
