Chicago Fire - Frostbite Blue - Review : The New Car

I think for me a lot of the storyline’s in this episode just really didn’t make a lot of sense to me.

Don’t get me wrong I loved to see Carver back but it didn’t feel like we had any more closure to him and Violet. I know that Carver’s conversation with Vasquez was maybe the catalyst for the kiss at the end of the episode, however I would have preferred to see Carver come back and resolve feelings with Violet.

It would have also been nice to see him have more conversations outside of Violet, even just a conversation with Stella about how he has been and what he may have overcome. Plus it probably has a lot to do with the fact that I still don’t think that Vasquez and Violet are right for each other. I quite literally cared more about the car than I did them kissing.

Herrmann’s storyline made me happy for Cindy, the Kids and him but it baffles me that Hermann wouldn’t have thought about suing before. He is literally the king of getting out of situations by causing up a fuss (al la Couch Fire).

I liked that we got to see Severide help out Van Meter. I was so happy that it felt like he got to help out a father figure as much as he had wanted to help out Benny but was too young to be able to do it on his own.

I hope we get back to being able to see progress for all the characters like we did in the last episode!
