What an episode! High stakes, Drone attacks, near death experiences and a group hang out, a perfect FBI episode in my eyes. This show has always had our favourite’s lives in the balance, but this time I truly thought we may lose one of our own. It is a Dick Wolf show after all.

The episode starts with a bang literally and figuratively, you truly have to feel for Taylor Minskoff (Finn Brown) having his mother, father and nanny die all at once. Not only that, also having to see the aftermath of the explosion on his own. I am glad that they were able to have him be reunited with other family members quickly.

It’s always funny to me when the FBI annoy local police by taking over the investigation, Maggie (Missy Peregrym) and OA (Zeeko Zaki) are such seasoned professionals that their quick responses to local officers never fail to make me laugh.

It’s safe to say I never knew until this episode that ovens could have a camera in, however it was surprisingly useful in this instance. Originally, I had assumed that the stove had C4 packed under it so when it was turned on it went off, but to my shock it was a drone strike.

My jaw dropped when they announced that another penthouse for a CEO had been hit, I never expected it to be just more than the one attack. It gave me goosebumps when Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) announced that it was the first drone strike on US soil. The weapon of choice was clearly highly sophisticated and able to follow targets based on facial recognition and movement. Which certainly came up later in the episode in a big way.

At first, I did not think that brining all the board member’s into one place was a good idea, as to me that left them as an open target, as well as 26 Fed. It’s safe to say that the board members were not the most considerate people and the ending of the episode truly showed that all they cared about was money. However one of them did offer to show Jubal and Isobel (Alana De La Garza) a threat video that was sent to them by former co-founder Perry Hinton (Chris Wendelken). Maggie and OA discovering that Perry Hinton had killed himself wasn’t a shock to me, however the timeframe of his death certainly did. Him dying before the video was sent was a genius plot, the possibility of having a rogue AI was an amazing storyline. The board not knowing how their own product worked was baffling to me.

Honestly, I never have been or will be a fan of AI and this episode cemented those feelings. Especially with the deep fake that Scott (Robin Lord Taylor) was able to do of Perry. His hand scar being the thing that tipped Jubal off was incredible. It was such a quick scene earlier on in the episode that had such a high impact. Dani (Emily Alabi) and Scola (John Boyd) holding Scott at gunpoint was a highly intense scene ending with the tablet that controlled the drone being smashed.

26 Fed not being the target filled me with a small amount of relief until we saw Maggie and OA trying to rescue Warren Foster’s daughter (Carmen Salta). Earlier in the episode they had said that the drone could use facial recognition, right from that moment I knew that the ending of this episode would be one of the most intense ones of the season, and it was!

I truly have no idea how Maggie survived that blast; my breath was hitched for the entire scene. I truly believed yet another show in this broadcast season would be killing off a fan favourite. OA’s shouts for Maggie honestly killed me, we just saw him say he couldn’t imagine losing her and now it seemed like that might be becoming a reality for him.

Thanks to his efforts Maggie regained consciousness and lived to fight another day, I definitely breathed a huge sigh of relief. The final scene of this episode was my favourite. OA ensuring that Maggie would not be left alone, inviting Scola and Dani to hang out with her and eat food was so wholesome. Especially since the episode started with her offscreen break up. The 26 Fed team truly is a family and I love to see group hang out scenes when they’re not on duty.
