The SpoilerTV 2022 Episode Competition - Winner and Final Words

From 32 episodes down to just one. The winner of the tenth edition of the SpoilerTV Episode Competition is...

Congratulations to This Is Us, which wins this competition for the first time in its final attempt. "The Train" - the show's penultimate episode - emerges victorious. Its victory over third seed New Amsterdam was particularly impressive, but Stranger Things and Superman & Lois were no mean feats in the run-up to the final either. And, of course, toppling Chicago PD in the final is a very strong way to take the title. "A Way Out" eliminated the top seed, from Magnum PI, so it was a mammoth final between two shows that were not among the most likely winners before we started.

This Is Us becomes the eighth different winner: Prodigal Son, Motherland: Fort Salem, Lucifer, Timeless, Outlander, Person of Interest and Beauty and the Beast complete the list.

Thanks as always to DarkUFO, who does all the technical bits involved in sorting every entry and, of course, keeps the site afloat. Mostly, though, thankks to you, the fans. Your continued involvement from nominations to votes to sharing keeps the competition popular - it wouldn't exist without you.

So that's it for the Episode Competition for another year. Dahne will be back with the Character Cup in the following days, so be on the lookout for that. (You didn't ask, but I'm going sentimental in my picks with 24's Charles Logan and The Sopranos' Paulie Walnuts to be included after the death in recent days of both Gregory Itzin and Tony Sirico.)

A bit of admin too around the Series Competition, which usually follows in August. Due to busy personal circumstances on my part, the 2022 SpoilerTV Series Competition will run in the lead-up to Christmas. The exact date is TBC but be on the look out for it all to start sometime in November. Wrap up with a blanket and a warm drink and vote for your favourite shows!

For now, though, thanks to everyone who took part - join us again in 2023.
