Riverdale - In Treatment & Tangerine - Review

The first part of this fourth season has come to an end, let's summarize what happened in these two episodes, and talk about what season four is aiming for.

It is the time in Riverdale, in which everyone needs to talk to Mrs. Burble after they get to know in which university they have been accepted or not. Betty is sad to hear that she did not make it to Yale and has a discussion with Alice about her sexual life, after a session with the guidance counselor. Things heat up, and they end up discussing how Betty is the favorite child and why does she need to endure so much pressure.

It's time for Archie and Ms. Burble to discuss Archie's past as a vigilante. He decides to move out in order to protect his mother. Cheryl meets the counselor and they talk about her trauma and Julian's ghost. She reveals that she did not absorb his fetus. Veronica receives an acceptance letter to Harvard, but her excitement lasts shortly because she finds out that Hiram has played a role in Harvard's decision. Jug is the only one who didn't apply for any college. He meets Betty and they investigate the murders disguised as suicides of the members of the secret society. The flashforward was the only interesting part of the episode, considering how apparently, Betty, Archie, and Veronica are accused of murdering Jughead and there is a witness who saw doing it. This episode was really slow, and I didn't enjoy it so much.

In Tangerine, Polly is still acting crazy, and she is not the only one. Alice tries to stab her daughter with a knife, after receiving a phone call. It is because of Evelyn, who has been making calls. Veronica and Archie both meet relatives. Jughead obtains the Baxter Brothers contract and finds out who is his grandfather. They talk about how Dupont took over writing the book, and then magically disappears.

Cheryl forces Penelope out of where she was living. and she puts her on trial. She also has the chance to give Jason a final farewell on Sweetwater River with Toni, Archie, Veronica, Betty, and Jug with her. In the flashforward, it appears that Betty killed Jug with a rock. This episode was slight better than the previous one, but still, this season feels flat.

What do you think of "In Treatment", and "Tangerine"?
