Melissa Leo (Wayward Pines, I'm Dying Up Here), Rosie O'Donnell (SMILF), Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife, Blindspot) and Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later), Juliette Lewis (Camping, Secrets and Lies, The Conners) and Kathryn Hahn (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Mrs. Fletcher, Transparent) have been cast to star in the six-episode limited HBO series, I Know This Much Is True, per Deadline.

Mark Ruffalo (Avengers: Infinity War, Thor: Ragnarok, The Normal Heart) stars in a dual role in the HBO adaptation of Wally Lamb's best-selling novel.

Derek Cianfrance (The Place Beyond the Pines, The Light Between Oceans, Blue Valentine) will write, direct and executive produce the family saga with FilmNation Entertainment, Lamb and Ruffalo executive producing.

I Know This Much is True is a family saga which follows the parallel lives of identical twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey (Mark Ruffalo), in an epic story of betrayal, sacrifice, and forgiveness, set against the backdrop of 20th century America.

Leo will play Ma (Concettina Ipolita Tempesta Birdsey), mother of identical twin brothers Dominick and Thomas (Mark Ruffalo).

O’Donnell will play Lisa Sheffer, a social worker for unit two at the Hatch Forensic Institute where Thomas (Mark Ruffalo) is staying.

Panjabi will play Dr. Patel, Thomas' (Mark Ruffalo) newly appointed psychologist

Poots will play Joy Hanks, Dominick's live-in girlfriend.

Lewis will play Nedra Frank, a self-absorbed grad student hired by Dominick (Mark Ruffalo).

Hahn will play Dessa Constantine, Dominick's (Mark Ruffalo) ex-wife.
