Greg Berlanti Inks $400 Million Dollar Deal to Stay at Warner Bros. TV Till 2024

Greg Berlanti has inked a major deal to stay with WBTV until 2024 valued at $400 million. Below are two great articles from Deadline & The Hollywood Reporter which have in-depth look at the deal and all of Greg's accomplishments that have made him the powerhouse producer he is today.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Berlanti's new deal is worth $400 million in all-cash guarantees. Berlanti — who has a TV record 14 scripted series on the air — had two years remaining on his current pact and with multiple outlets pursuing the writer-producer opted to remain at his longtime home at Warners. By the time the deal ends in 2024, Berlanti will be 51.

The deal is for TV only, with Berlanti's film pact remaining at Fox. Sources note that Warners CEO Kevin Tsujihara and WBTV president Peter Roth aggressively pursued Berlanti for a new deal. Berlanti, who values loyalty, is said to have been happy at the studio and did not take meetings with any other outlet despite interest from Netflix, among other outlets.

On the heels of Greg Berlanti setting a new record for a producer with 14 live-action scripted series on the air, he has re-upped his overall deal with the studio behind all of his shows. Berlanti has signed a giant extension of his exclusive overall development and production deal with Warner Bros. Television Group that would keep him at the studio through 2024. No financial terms are being disclosed but sources peg the pact at more than $300 million over the next six years. (It includes the studio buying Berlanti’s back-end, a common practice in the biggest overall pacts for the top TV showrunners.)
