Preacher - Season 3 - Betty Buckley, Colin Cunningham, Jeremy Childs, & Liz McGeever Join Cast

Thanks to Devin for the heads up.

AMC announced today that several actors have joined the cast of Preacher Season 3, and it looks like we’re going to get to know a lot more about Jesse Custer‘s family.

Tony winner Betty Buckley (Supergirl, Split) joins the cast as a series regular playing “Gran’ma,” a spiritist with true powers, who can cast spells and even bring back the dead (for a price). Pay the fee or pay with your soul to feed Gran’ma’s thirst for eternal youth. She is weathered, tough, and mean, but also intelligent beyond measure. She’s Jesse’s only living family and she loves him.

Buckley will be joined by a trio of recurring guest stars. Colin Cunningham (Falling Skies) plays “TC,” a man born of the bayou and the loyal caretaker and soldier for Gran’ma. Weaselly and wiry, he’ll gladly tell you about his perversions whether you ask him or not. While he seems like the friendliest guy you’ll ever meet, don’t make the mistake of turning your back on him.

Jeremy Childs (The Last Castle, Nashville) is “Jody.” Massive and intimidating, Jody is the enforcer for Gran’ma and the only man Jesse’s never beaten in a fight. He’s nobody’s fool, and not someone to cross.

Liz McGeever (Star, Nashville) will play “Christina.” Capable and efficient, Christina has a face that lures customers in for her family business. Christina hides it well, but she hates her job and has dreams and aspirations outside of her current life – but suffers to protect her child.

Based on the popular cult comic book franchise, Preacher tells the absurdly twisted tale of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a small-town preacher inhabited by an angel-demon spawn that gives him the power to make people do his bidding, Tulip (Ruth Negga), his volatile true love, and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), a 119-year-old Irish vampire.

In Season 2, after Jesse accidentally discovered that God is absent from Heaven, the three of them set out on a road trip to find Him, all while being hunted by the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish), an unstoppable, mythical killer from Hell. The trio’s pursuit led them to New Orleans, where they dodged local gangsters, dangerous agents, and other unimaginable mayhem on their way to uncovering an even bigger secret. Now, with Tulip’s life and Cassidy’s friendship in the balance, Jesse must rely on a mysterious figure from his past in order to save his friends and continue on with his mission.

Season 3 of Preacher is now in production in New Orleans and will return later this year.
