SpoilerTV - TV Spoilers

Collider: Kol was clearly changed by Davina, and then he was changed again by the loss of Davina. When did Kol come to the realization that Davina actually really deeply meant and continues to mean something to him?

NATHANIEL BUZOLIC: I definitely think that would have played out when he first lost Davina. Sometimes you don’t realize how special someone is until you don’t have that person. So, when Kol finds out that she’s actually back and there’s a possibility they could be together again, that’s a renewal of, maybe this is meant to be. It’s interesting, you can have all things in life, but if you don’t have love, you don’t have anything, which is the theme of Kol’s journey in this story.

Nathaniel revealed Friday's new episode will also feature some scenes where Kol interacts with his young niece – Klaus and Hayley's daughter Hope.

"I obviously love working with Summer Fontana and there's a great little scene between Kol and Hope," he said. "It was a fun little scene to shoot . … And it leads to something that I think the fans will enjoy."

TVLINE | And I know Kol is usually on his family’s bad side, but what can you say about this particular clash?

You know what? If you love the divide between Kol and his siblings, you’ll probably love this episode. It’s an awesome episode where Kol finally gets to reconnect with Davina on some level, and when you see everything he’s willing to do for her, it goes to show how much he loves her. He’s also sort of returning a favor; she brought him back, so now he feels like it’s on him to help her and solve this huge dilemma in light of The Hollow being in New Orleans. There’s also a conflict of interest that comes up in the episode that I think the audience will enjoy.
