A Reminder of our Comment Policy (aka Don't Get Yourself Banned)

Update: 18th February 2020 It's been over a year since we last bumped this and we've a number of new people on the site.
Update: 6th September 2018 With the new season approaching I thought it was worth re-posting this.

Update: 2nd October 2017 In response to a recent case of bullying in the comments we want to let everyone know, that ANY online bullying here in the comments on SpoilerTV will be dealt with swiftly by the SpoilerTV Moderation Team.

We have ZERO tolerance on Bullying and if anyone is found to be doing this they will be banned no matter if you're a new poster or a one with a 10,000+ comments. Bullying is NOT ok.

If you find any comments that you think should be reported, please flag the offending comment immediately.

Update: 26th September 2017 With the new season upon us, we thought it a good time to remind people of this.

Over the last few weeks we've seen a big increase in what we can only describe as extra trollish, negative and quite frankly annoying behavior from a small minority of people.

This is going to stop now.

SpoilerTV is built upon a great and friendly community, and if you want to be part of that, then you are going to have to play by our very simple rules.

Here is a reminder of our comment policy.

We pride ourselves here at SpoilerTV with the quality, friendliness and respectfulness of our community.

Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, off-topicness, acrophobia, ailurophobia and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party as will creating multiple accounts, actor abuse along with any other trollish behaviour. All comments in ENGLISH please.

Where appropriate please use the new Spoiler Tags if posting spoilers outside the scope of the article that you are currently on. See here for details.

If you have a problem with a comment, DO NOT REPLY TO IT. Instead Click the Dropdown Icon/Arrow to the right of the offending comment and click the Flag link from the dropdown. Our Moderation Team will then deal with any inappropriate comments.

So to summarize this.

1) If you find a problem/trollish comment, DO NOT REPLY to it, you are just making things worse. Use the FLAG button.

2) Posting the same the negative comment in every thread for a show is trollish behavior. Stop that now. Repeat offenders will get suspended.

3) If you constantly argue with someone all the time, rather than continue the pointless arguing, just BLOCK that person so you'll never have to deal with them again. Repeat offenders will get suspended.

4) If you're rude or make things personal you will get suspended.

5) Posting Off-Topic in threads will get your comments deleted. We have off-topic threads. Use them. Repeat offenders will, after a warning, get suspended.

6) If you have a problem. Don't post it in the comments. Email support@spoilertv.com or use the feedback forms on the site.

7) Shipping/Fandom wars. Stop that shit now. No one wins and both sides end up looking like idiots.

8) If a comment is deleted by a spoilertv moderator. Do NOT go and post it again. If you have a problem with a comment you think shouldn't be deleted, then contact via email rather than in the comment thread. eg Stop posting stuff like "Why was my comment deleted" etc email support.

9) Copyright Infringement

Violating Copyright law in any way is expressly forbidden. This includes asking or providing torrent details, trading illegal merchandise, sharing copyrighted photographs/audio files/etc, or any other items prohibited by law. Any posts we see breaking this will be removed, and repeat offenders will be banned as we cannot allow the site to be compromised in any way. Please note that should any Copyright holder make enquires due to violations of this rule, we would have to cooperate fully with them by law.

To sum up the summary.

"Don't be a dickhead"

We are going to start being ruthless with repeat offenders. You will be suspended for 2 weeks initially and then, if you persist after being allowed back on, you will be banned forever.
