The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)

NOTE: The opinions expressed here are NOT those of SpoilerTV but of the Author of this Article, Marc Berman.

    -Winners:
“The Big Bang Theory” (CBS), “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC), “Chicago Med” (NBC)

    -Disappointing:
    “The Great Indoors” (CBS)

    -Losing Steam:
“How To Get Away With Murder” (ABC), “The Blacklist” (NBC)

    -Losers:
“Rosewood” (Fox), “Notorious” (ABC), “Pitch” (Fox), “Pure Genius” (CBS)

    Ratings Breakdown:
“The Big Bang Theory” led CBS to Thursday overnight victory, topping the night at a 9.2 rating/15 share in households at 8 p.m. But week two of lead-out sitcom “The Great Indoors” dipped by 45 percent to a second-place 5.1/ 8 at 8:30 p.m., which was 11 percent below the 5.7/ 9 for its week-ago opener. That 5.7 overnight household rating translated into 8.81 million viewers and a 1.9 rating/7 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data (out of 14.31 million viewers and a 3.4/13 in the demo for “The Big Bang Theory”). In other words, consider this yet another missed opportunity for CBS out of Sheldon, Leonard and company.

Also in week two news was CBS drama “Pure Genius” at a second-place 3.6/ 6 in the overnights at 10 p.m., which slipped by 16 percent from the 4.3/ 8 opener one week earlier. That 4.3 overnight rating translated into 6.23 million viewers with a mere 1.0/ 4 among adults 18-49. Comparably, also older-skewing “Elementary” scored a 3.8/ 7 in the overnights on the year-ago evening. Look for under a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 for this huge miss for CBS.

Smack in the middle of CBS’ line-up last night was sitcom “Mom” at a dominant 4.7/ 7 at 9 p.m., followed by relocated “Life in Pieces” at a 4.0/ 6 (#2) at 9:30 p.m. One year earlier, an encore telecast of “The Big Bang Theory” in the Thursday 9:30 p.m. half-hour was stronger at a 4.3/ 7.

Veteran “Grey’s Anatomy” remained the Thursday standout on ABC, with a solid 5.7/10 in the overnights at 8 p.m. But recent failing entry “Notorious” dropped to a distant third-place 2.8/ 5 at 9 p.m., which was 56 percent below “Scandal” on the year-ago evening (6.3/10 on 10/05/15). “Scandal” returns for season six on Jan. 19, 2017.

Minus the lead-in support, drama “How To Get Away With Murder” on ABC dipped by 36 percent year-to-year, with a 3.2/ 5 at 10 p.m. Comparably, that ranked third in the time period behind NBC’s relocated “The Blacklist” (#3: 3.7/ 7), which no longer generates buzz at the proverbial water-cooler, and aforementioned “Pure Genius” on CBS (3.6/ 6).

Earlier in the evening on NBC was the 8-9 p.m. combination of “Superstore” (#3t, 2.5/ 4) and “The Good Place” (#3: 2.7/ 4), which from a younger demographic standpoint are not all that bad, and relocated “Chicago Med” (#1t: 4.5/ 7 at 9 p.m.), which built from “The Good Place” by 67 percent.

Elsewhere, Fox could not compete with its pairing of dramas “Rosewood (#4: 2.5/ 4), which is shifting to Friday at 8 p.m. beginning on Jan. 6, and recent entry “Pitch” (#4: 2.1/ 3). And The CW featured sophomore “D.C.’s Legends of Tomorrow” (#5: 1.3/ 2) and veteran “Supernatural” (#5: 1.2/ 2), which are perfectly compatible.

What follows is the breakdown by half-hour for Thursday, Nov. 3:
