Conviction - Bridge and Tunnelvision - Advanced Preview: Rules of Fight Club

Yes, the numbers suck dear Conviction fans, still don't let that push you away from Conviction's second outing "Bridge and Tunnelvision". Personally, I found it as a big improvement over the pilot as the character interactions are better and more involving and the story is way more engaging.

Week two of Conviction made Hayes and her team tackle one of Wallace's case, the Prospect 3. A case of 3 teenagers being convicted for assaulting and raping a young woman. The cat and mouse game between Hayes and Wallace is fairly entertaining and there is a small mole who told on Hayes. The chemistry between Hayes and Wallace is really strong and carries a lot of weight in this episode.

The case had some fairly interesting twists and revelations and the team worked really well together. The show started to dig under the surface of the team members and the CIU gets its first enemy. I'm more and more intrigued by Tess, what really happened in the past. This episode offers a bit more insight but still it is all very vague. We also meet Lisa, Sam's acquaintance or ex, not really defined at this point. Lisa is a reporter and it seems like she has a grudge against Hayes. Should be interesting to see if Hayes will try to overrule one of the own cases in a possible distant future. Maxine and Manny are mostly focused on the case this week, not much personal stuff to resolve even though Maxine is all up in Tess' business.

One of the funnier scenes involved Hayes' team meet her mom, Harper and again a moment for Hayes' snark to shine through. I fairly enjoy Hayes interaction with her family, her brother and mother are so different and draw out different sides of Hayes. She seems quite vulnerable while with them and it does give the character more edge.

Other Tidbits:
- The show opened with a very sexy/messy wake-up scene.
- I really enjoy the reenactment of the case. Last week it felt a bit weird-ish with all that running but this time, as it was slower and in a more visible area gave it a more intense feel to it.
- There was a dance party happening towards the end I would've gladly joined.

That is it for this week's advanced preview and I hope I encouraged you to tune in again next Monday 10/9c on ABC. Also, I look forward to reading your opinions on the show so far, so make good use of the comment section and sound off.
