In “We’re Gaining a Daughter” premiering Sunday, September 11 (9 p.m. ET/PT), after receiving word of Kevin’s (Brendan Penny) disappearance, the O’Brien family anxiously awaits news from overseas. With heavy hearts, Mick (Treat Williams) and Abby (Meghan Ory) fly to New York for the custody hearing, as Abby remains cold toward Trace (Jesse Metcalfe), uncertain of where they stand. Preparing for the daunting task of pleading her case in front of the judge – and Wes (Michael Karl Richards) – Abby is surprised by Megan (Barbara Niven) and Connor (Andrew Francis), who arrive at the courthouse to lend their support. Back in Chesapeake Shores, an emotional Nell (Diane Ladd) has her late husband on her mind as she turns to the church for comfort, asking for forgiveness while wondering if a transgression from her past has caught up with her. Trace still refuses to let Leigh (Brittany Willacy) back into his life, or return to Nashville, until an abandoned property gives him a new idea that finds him reconsidering. In need of money to make it work, Trace attempts to negotiate a final duet with Leigh before realizing their romantic past may get in the way of business. And as the O’Briens get the call they’ve been hoping for, Abby promises to do what is best for her girls, before she has the painful realization that her fight is far from over.

Also starring: Laci Mailey (“Jess”), Kayden Magnuson (“Carrie Winters”) and Abbie Magnuson (“Caitlyn Winters”).
