Sneak Peeks

A night off duty for some of the counselors provides welcome opportunities for romance, but could end on a darker note in “Mix Tape,” an all-new episode of “Dead of Summer,” airing TUESDAY, JULY 12 (9:00 – 10:00 p.m. EDT), on Freeform.

The summer is off to a rough start for the counselors at Camp Stillwater and a night away in town is a much-needed break. Both Cricket and Jesse see the free time as an opportunity to make headway with their crushes, but when one of them goes a little too far the evening takes a dangerous turn. Stuck covering the campers while the rest are in town, Blair and Joel use movie night as a way to make their own romantic overtures.

Meanwhile, flashbacks show why Cricket’s plans to attract Alex’s attention include insulting graffiti.

The series stars Elizabeth Mitchell (“Lost,” ”The Purge: Election Year”) as Deborah “Deb” Carpenter, Elizabeth Lail (“Once Upon a Time”) as Amy Hughes, Zelda Williams (“Teen Wolf”) as Drew Reeves, Mark Indelicato (“Ugly Betty”) as Blair Ramos, Alberto Frezza (“Charlie’s Angels”) as Deputy Garrett Sykes, Eli Goree (“The 100”) as Joel Goodson, Ronen Rubinstein (“Orange Is the New Black”) as Alex Powell, Amber Coney (“Class”) as Carolina “Cricket” Diaz and Paulina Singer (“Gotham”) as Jesse Tyler.

Guest stars include Charles Mesure as Sheriff Boyd Heelan and Andrew J. West as Damon Crowley.

“Mix Tape” is written by Edward Kitsis & Adam Horowitz and directed by Mick Garris.

“Dead of Summer” is produced by ABC Signature Studios and Kitsis/Horowitz. Adam Horowitz, Edward Kitsis (“Once Upon a Time,” “Lost”) and Ian Goldberg (“Once Upon a Time,” “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior”) write and executive-produce the series. Steve Pearlman (“Once Upon a Time”) serves as executive producer.
