Madam Secretary - Lights out - Advance Preview and Teasers

The next episode of Madam Secretary follows directly on the ending of last week's episode. Russell had finally realized that Craig Sterling is a threat and needs to be kicked out of the White House.

"Lights Out" concentrates on Russell and Elizabeth's attempts to get Sterling out. However, they can't just go to the President, because he needs plausible deniability. Also, Russell doesn't want to cause a scandal since that might be bad for Dalton's re-election. So Russell and Elizabeth work with Mike B. to oust Sterling without the President knowing it. This is obviously quite a challenge, and whether or not they succeed remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, the US is hot on the trail of the hacker of Air Force One, George Lasco. The Director of National Intelligence Ephraim Ware has reliable intel on the location of Lasco. The main goal is finding evidence that Lasco indeed worked for Russia and if that evidence is found, President Dalton must decide how to respond to Russia. This also adds an extra urgency to getting Sterling out of the President's inner circle. If Sterling doesn't leave before the President decides how to handle Russia, he might continue to push his war plans.

A few other teasers from "Lights Out":
-Dmitri is returning to Russia and Henry is really worried for his safety.
-Senator Parisi from the previous episode returns.
-We get a glimpse of Russell's private life and we see what he does in his free time.
-Daisy and Oliver Shaw continue to date, though there are some issues between them.
-A main or recurring character is announcing his or her retirement.

"Ligths Out" airs Sunday at 8/7c on CBS. You can find a promo for the episode below.
