The Leftovers - No Room At The Inn - Advanced Preview

Watching The Leftovers since it started airing last year has really opened my eyes to the way TV stories can be told. The brilliant Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta have created a masterpiece with this show we love so much and that could not be any more true than with this Sunday's episode, 'No Room At The Inn'.

Season one of The Leftovers was a complex story told over 10 amazing episodes. Episode 9, 'The Garveys At Their Best', featured flashback style story telling that was incredibly fun to watch. I would have to say that my two other favorite episodes were Nora's, "Guest", and Matt's, 'Two Boats And A Helicopter', because it featured the two characters all by themselves. This coming Sunday will feature Reverend Matt in a similar style to those single character stories from last season.

'No Room At The Inn' is definitely one of my favorite episodes of the season for many reasons. For those of you that read my season one reviews (that's all of you, right?...no?) you can tell how much I enjoyed Reverend Matt's episode 'Two Boats And A Helicopter'. The story loosely followed the joke that the title is based on, which made for an interesting hour of The Leftovers. 'No Room At The Inn' tells Matt's season two story in a very similar way to his season one episode, however, this season's episode title is not based on a joke. You will definitely see references to season one, which I will bring up in my review after the episode airs.

I love that Reverend Matt always keeps going regardless of his tribulations. He always tries to do good and sometimes goes a little too far and his human nature takes over. That is what we see in his standalone episodes and what you will witness in this Sunday's episode of The Leftovers. What has Matt done to get where he is? What happened to Mary? Why does Matt think Miracle is, well, a miracle? I am sure you will all enjoy this episode coming up as much as I did.

Things To Notice

- Out of the many elements of The Leftovers that I love and enjoy so much it's the emotional roller coaster we go through each episode. In the first five minutes you will see what I am talking about. I was happy for the music, in wonder for something else the next minute, happy again, then sad. It's a really cool scene.

- Can you spot the references to Matt's season one episode?

- Once again, the music in The Leftover's is outstanding.

- Kevin and John make an appearance. I wonder how there relationship is growing now that Kevin has saved John from near death?

- Water again is referenced in this episode. Not as much as previous ones, but it is used heavily in a very important scene.

Thank you for reading my Advanced Preview! I hope you all enjoy the episode as much as I did. Please check back after the episode airs for my Review so we can discuss the episode and the series further. As always, if any of you have any questions about the upcoming episode please feel free to ask in the comments section below. I will answer in the most non-spoilery way possible. Enjoy, and have a great weekend everyone!
