Scene Of The Week - June 14, 2015 - POLL

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, "Beast of Wallstreet", June 11, 2015, Actors: Kristin Kreuk, Jay Ryan, The Scene: Vincent proposes to Catherine
Tonya Papanikolas:
What a sweet, romantic scene. I love that it happened after they'd been fighting. It made it all the more poignant. I also loved the look on Vincent's face after he proposed. He clearly didn't know what Cat was going to say and was nervous, but he still asked because he loved her so much and wanted a life together. And Cat's reaction was priceless. Earlier in the episode she'd told her sister she wasn't ready for wedding dresses/marriage - so seeing her this happy and giddy was fantastic (and a relief). Even the song playing in the background (Ed Sheeran's "One") was perfect. This was a great way to end the first episode of the new season! Also picked by Lilith Hellfire

GAME OF THRONES, "The Dance of Dragons", June 7, 2015, Actors: Emilia Clarke, Liam Cunningham, Kerry Ingram and more, The Scenes: Drogon comes Daenerys to the rescue & Stannis sacrifices his daughter & Davos gives Shireen a stag
Justyna K:
The number of scenes I need to skip on the series lately is certainly getting high (Shireen!). Fortunately, there are moments like this one, where Drogon comes to the rescue that make the show truly worth watching for me. I absolutely loved the entire setting of this scene, the music in the background when Sons of the Harpy start their attack and Tyrion, Dany and her friends getting caught in the middle of the fight. So many little things make this a scene of the week for me, but nothing can really beat the view of the dragon coming to save them! Absolutely great. The bond between Dany and Drogon and the ones between Starks and their direwolves are beautifully done on the show and result in many memorable scenes (remember the one when Summer saved Bran from the assassin? I certainly do!). Drogon knowing that Daenerys needed help and not wanting to leave her was a touching moment for sure. And for once, not a heartbreaking, but actually quite a fantastic one. Can't wait to see what this means for both Dany and the ones left behind. Also picked by Darth Locke
Bradley Adams: Woah. I've never really liked Stannis' character, but he's been hugely enjoyable. This... may have changed things. This scene was hard to watch. Hearing Shireen scream in desperation for her mother and father was heartbreaking. This was one of the most emotional scenes of the entire show. Also picked by Jamie Coudeville
Sandi: Davos gives Shireen a stag. In truth, Shireen's burning is the more powerful scene, but as it has already been chosen I wanted to highlight this moment too. I have enjoyed the friendship between the two characters over the last few seasons, it could easily have become too twee or even creepy. But the two actors have managed to portray a genuine bond that has come over well. Also picked by Nirat Anop

HALT AND CATCH FIRE, "New Coke", June 7, 2015, Actors: Toby Huss and more, The Scene: The guys open and read Cameron's letter from Bos
Tonya Papanikolas:
This scene was so sad. Especially when Bos walked in to hear them. It was like bullying at school, only for adults. I felt so bad for Bos, considering he took the fall for others, putting him in prison. And now here they are making fun of him when he has lost everything. You felt how callous they were being. The letter was such a genuine expression of feeling hopeless and helpless, of not knowing what to do next. It was sweet that Bos trusts Cameron so much. That was a private letter not meant for anyone else. The scene really did a great job of making you feel for him and the situation.

HANNIBAL, "Primavera", June 11, 2015, Actor: Hugh Dancy
The Scene: Will says to Hannibal "I Forgive You" (picked by DarkUFO, Darth Locke and Diana Mack)

ORPHAN BLACK, "Insolvent Phantom of Tomorrow", June 13, 2015, Actors: Tatiana Maslany, Maria Doyle Kennedy and more, The Scenes: Sarah and Mrs. S find the Castor AND Leda original & Helena pretends to be Alison & Helena sings along to 'You Baby'
Tonya Papanikolas:
Sarah and Mrs. S learn that Mrs. S's mother is the Castor AND Leda original. Wow. What a twist. This was a shocking, fun revelation. Mrs. S's mother absorbed a male twin in the womb and has two cell lines, making her viable to be both a male and female donor. Crazy! I love unexpected surprises that you'd never dream up. And I love getting some more history on Mrs. S and her family. For example, it was interesting to hear how her mom shot her husband. What a small world that Sarah and Mrs. S ended up being related to the original clones' donor. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Darth Locke: Kendell Malone turns out not only to be Mrs. S mother, but a chimra and "the original" for both Castor & Leda!
Sandi: Helena pretends to be Alison. Helena waving through the door's peep hole in Alison's get-up was hilarious, and the scene went on from there to become the funniest, and craziest, clone swap they have ever had on the show! Also picked by Jamie Coudeville
Nirat Anop: Helena singing along to 'You Baby' whilst making soap. I loved this scene so much, it was reminiscent of the older season Helena and Sarah road trip scene where they sung along to 'Sugar, Sugar'. Any scene where Helena sings is a happy one.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, "Songs of Innocence", June 9, 2015, Actors: Shay Mitchell and more, The Scene: Emily flashes back to what happened in those two weeks
Jamie Coudeville:
We only got two small glimpses into what exactly happened in those three weeks but I think that's all we needed to realise just how traumatic it must have been. That 'game' was truly sick. The girls will have a long way ahead of them before they are able to put this behind them.

WAYWARD PINES, "The Truth", June 11, 2015, Actors: Toby Jones and more, The Scene: The reveal about what Wayward Pines is
Nirat Anop:
The entire scene where Mrs F reveals to the 3 'chosen' students what Wayward Pines is. I loved this scene, it was shot in such a brilliant way, the dialogue of Mrs F explaining what Wayward Pines is was edited together with the shots of Ethan Burke searching through the new terrain. When she explained what Abbies were and the shot of Ethan's eye peering though the hole in collapsed tree as the Abbies ate away at the dead deer was really great. I loved the use of the coin as a symbolic representation of the past whilst still being indicative of the fact they are in the future. I can't wait to see what's next because I'm sure there's more to the story than just David Pilchers/Dr. Jenkins side.
