Scene Of The Week - April 12, 2015 - POLL

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.

12 MONKEYS, "Arms of Mine", April 10, 2015, Actors: Amanda Schull and more
The Scene: Cassie time travels to 2043 (picked by Darth Locke)

BETTER CALL SAUL, "Marco", April 6, 2015, Actors: Bob Odenkirk and more, The Scene: Jimmy goes off the rails at Bingo
Tonya Papanikolas:
Oh my gosh. What a scene. Jimmy totally lost it in front of all those seniors, and his downward spiral was momentous. The story of what sent him to jail in his past was a big surprise. I was shocked that he had been married, and shocked at what he did to the guy who slept with his wife (aka "The Chicago Sunroof"). It was easy to assume he'd gone to prison for his cons, but learning he was actually booked for indecent exposure, after a horrifying incident of trying to get even with his wife's lover, made you feel for him. It presented interesting new backstory that shed more light on his character. And the story was so bizarre, it definitely left an impression. You really felt Jimmy's humiliation as he shared his personal grief with everyone. Yet it was almost like he was only talking to himself.

CRIMINAL MINDS, "Beyond Borders", April 8, 2015, Actors: Joe Mantegna, Shemar Moore and more, The Scene: The ending
Laura Markus:
There's no real way to describe my favourite scene other than the fact that it was the end scene. The family reunited with their son, the BAU and the new team for the spinoff joined together with drinks and laughs. It was really cute to see them combine together at the end, and they all seem to have great chemistry together. Here's hoping the spinoff actually goes well!

DAREDEVIL, "Into the Ring", April 10, 2015, Actors: Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll and more, The Scenes: Matt and Foggy meet Karen & Matt fights Karen's attacker
Justyna K:
There are just so many great things I could say about this show, and so many scenes I could choose but for today I'll stay with the pilot and the moment when Matt and Foggy meet Karen. The friendship between these three ended up being one of my favorite things about the series so far (some others include: actors and the characters, Matt's backstory, especially with his father, the excellent fight scenes and all the brilliantly written and acted monologues/dialogues ones), so their first meeting is quite an important part of the premiere, if you ask me. Also, it was a very good character moment which gave us a little insight into who all of them are. Matt and Foggy's fun banter during the interrogation is the perfect example of why they work so well together. Another great aspect of the scene - Matt's ability to tell whether someone is telling a truth, impressive and unique. Kudos to the entire cast and crew for their marvelous work! Absolutely loved it.
Nirat Anop: The action in the first episode is outstanding (to me) which gets even better as the season unfolds. The sheer cinematography (editing especially) and use of the rain made for a really excellent scene, that and the incredible flips truly, excellent stunt work in my opinion. There are so many other excellent scenes (such as Matt rescuing the kidnapped child near the end of Episode 2, Matt in the underground tunnels with Vladimir or Matt vs Nobu) but I don't want to spoil them for anyone who has yet to see the show.

FOREVER, "Best Foot Forward", April 7, 2015, Actors: Ioan Gruffudd, Alana de la Garza, The Scene: Jo shows up at Henry's after cancelling her trip with Isaac
Tonya Papanikolas:
I loved this moment between Jo and Henry. It happened a lot sooner in the series than I expected. I loved that Jo was the one to show up and take the risk of telling Henry how she felt. That was a big move for her. The moment was great as both of them were afraid to say anything but wanting to. Jo seemed open to admitting her feelings if she had just been given time - and Henry really wanted to hear what she had to say. But then they were interrupted - by Abe with big news. It was one of those "almost" moments that left you saying, "Noooo." But those kind of moments leave you extra excited to see what happens next. It's fun to know this is the direction the show is taking now with their characters. I can't wait for more!

GREY'S ANATOMY, "Crazy Love", April 9, 2015, Actors: Ellen Pompeo and more
The Scene: The ending
Klutzy girl:
The fact that Derek is missing is something I didn't expect so the ending was quite a surprise. I'm sure everything will turn out okay in the end but I'm worried about what happened to him.

HELIX, "O Brave New World", April 10, 2015, Actors: Kyra Zagorsky, Jim Thorburn
The Scene: Caleb reveals himself to Julia as Soren
Darth Locke:
Caleb reveals himself to Julia as Soren and explains the numbers on Hatake's sword.

MAD MEN, "Severance", April 5, 2015, Actors: Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks and more, The Scenes: Joan and Peggy in a business meeting & Don finds out Rachel had died
Tonya Papanikolas:
Joan and Peggy sit through a slur of sexual innuendos in a business meeting. I thought this scene was so well-written and performed. The double entendres would have been hilarious on their own if they hadn't been so disgustingly harassing and inappropriate. But the men's constant litany of degrading lines made the viewer really understand Joan's feelings. The men treated her like an object, and you could see how helpless she felt, sitting through it and not being able to do anything about it. The scene was a great example of the difficulties she faced in trying to hit that glass ceiling and being taken seriously. It really proved quite poignantly that as much as Joan has accomplished, she still isn't respected like a man.
Darth Locke: Don finds out Rachel had died. Also picked by Laura Markus

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD, "Afterlife", April 7, 2015, Actors: Luke Mitchell, J. August Richards and more, The Scenes: Deathlok comes to the rescue & Coulson plans to find Ward
Justyna K:
Originally I was planning to choose a different scene, but in the end, I couldn't not mention Mike's return in the article. I've been a fan of the character since the pilot and it was great to see him again, and finally on the right path. Him being the backup, I didn't see it coming at all, really a fantastic surprise. Also he just joined one of my new favorite duos - Coulson and Hunter, which makes it even better. Here's hoping he'll stay for a while, at least to keep an eye on Ward. Speaking of, I'm still very disappointed with this idea to find a known traitor and killer to help our team. The "real" SHIELD may not be an ally at this point, but surely they're a much better option than this one. Hopefully something good will come out of it. Anyway, welcome back Mike. Deathlok looks even more impressive now and I'm so happy to see him getting a real second chance and show what a hero he can be, for his son and everyone else. "It matters who you are." Kudos!
Klutzy girl: Coulson tells Lance they need to go with their bad option to find Skye - Ward. I'm so excited for this team-up and I'm looking forward to seeing all of the ensemble together again because I miss them.
Bradley Adams: Deathlok comes to Coulson and Hunter's rescue.

NASHVILLE, "This Just Ain't a Good Day for Leavin'", April 8, 2015, Actors: Hayden Panettiere, Jonathan Jackson, The Scene: Juliette and Avery welcome their daughter into the world
Klutzy girl:
A little annoyed we have to wait for the name but seeing the family of three together for the first time was adorable.

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, "The Insider", April 7, 2015, Actors: Scott Bakula, C. C. H. Pounder, The Scene: Pride and Loretta in the hospital at the end
Daniel van der Veer
: After everything that happened in the episode, the end scene with Pride and Loretta in the hospital was a great one. We got a lovely moment between the two of them and we saw Pride's genuine concerns for Loretta. The scene showed the great friendship between the two of them, and it was good to see!

PERSON OF INTEREST, "Search and Destroy", April 7, 2015, Actors: Amy Acker and more
The Scene: Root gasses the restaurant (picked by Sharon Seymour & Bradley Adams)

THE AMERICANS, "One Day in the Life of Anton Baklanov", April 8, 2015, Actors: Matthew Rhys, Alison Wright, The Scene: Clark trains Martha how to lie (picked by Sharon Seymour)

THE FOLLOWING, "The Hunt", April 6, 2015, Actors: Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy
The Scene: Ryan dreams about Joe (picked by Bradley Adams)
