Marvel.com: Over the course of the last season, Skye really developed strong relationships with some of the different team members like Coulson and May. Moving into this new season, how would you characterize where their relationships are at today?
Chloe Bennet: I think you鈥檒l find she鈥檚 always had this unspoken bond with Coulson that鈥檚 a very father/daughter relationship where clearly the love they have for each other is evident in a very caring way. But he is Director Coulson now, so the dynamic is definitely different. I think it鈥檚 a bit more professional. She鈥檚 a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent now, so I think she wants to be taken seriously in that light and she鈥檚 been training with May.
Marvel.com: How is Ward鈥檚 betrayal sitting with, her and how鈥檚 that motivate her moving forward?
Chloe Bennet: I think it really motivates her. Coming from someone who has no family and really didn鈥檛 trust anyone from the beginning [to] being let into this ragtag family and finally trusting people, feeling like she鈥檚 part of something鈥hen all of a sudden after getting her S.H.I.E.L.D. badge for a day, it all goes to crap and she finds out the one person she really trusts the most--obviously besides Coulson--betrayed her, I think that鈥檚 going to take some time to overcome. But she鈥檚 been training with May and has dealt with it in a good way. The themes of that are still going to be threaded throughout the season, and we鈥檒l see more of Skye and Ward鈥檚 interactions for sure. It鈥檚 not dead! We wouldn鈥檛 do that! They wouldn鈥檛 do that to us, I don鈥檛 think. I still ship SkyeWard. I don鈥檛 as Skye, but I do as me. I would like to see some romance for Skye. I feel kind of bad for her. We should just have one episode where it鈥檚 all romance, because these poor guys! It鈥檚 all aliens and action! They need some loving!
