At Fiona’s urging, Will (David Walton) steps in and does his best to encourage some much needed father-son bonding. In order to confirm what she thinks, however, Joyce has to promise Katie she’ll keep her secret from Mel (J.K. Simmons). Meanwhile, Mel has one final chance to have a successful first date with Allison (guest star Contance Zimmer) and has promised to make her dinner. The only problem is that he has no clue how to cook. The Internal Affairs investigation of her actions is deemed inconclusive, and with no evidence to corroborate her story, Prosecutor Derek Strauss (Greg Germann) convenes a grand jury and calls for Benson’s arrest. With increasing pressure from Lt. Tucker (guest star Robert John Burke) and Lt. Murphy (Donal Logue) to save herself any way she can, Benson must choose between her convictions and her badge. Even with government agencies in the mix, Voight (Jason Beghe) and his team work the case from their own angles and connections. Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Antonio (Jon Seda) question doctors who handled the transplant surgery for an Ambassador from Syria, but no clues emerge. Olinsky (Elias Koteas) gets some solid intel and the team work from there. It’s a race against time as they realize there may be additional bombs targeted to detonate. Meanwhile Burgess (Marina Squerciati) sits vigil for her niece whose life hangs in the balance. Jesse Lee Soffer, Patrick John Flueger, LaRoyce Hawkins and Archie Kao also star. The bond between Hannibal and Will grows after Will demonstrates his willingness to go to dark places, a shift that does not go unnoticed by Jack. Jack and the FBI team investigate a tableau made of Randal Tier (Mark O’Brien) and his animal exoskeleton, fully realized as the vicious hunter he yearned to be (episode 209). Hannibal advises Margot Verger (Katherine Isabelle) regarding her concerns over her brother Mason’s violent nature, a fear that intensifies when Mason demonstrates how he has trained pigs to consume human flesh. Will agrees to an interview with Freddie Lounds (Lara Jean Chorostecki) for her upcoming book, and learns that she is looking into his allegations of Hannibal’s possible guilt.
