Scene Of The Week - March 16, 2014 - POLL

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great scenes that we've seen recently.

BANSHEE, "Bullets and Tears", March 14, Actors: Hoon Lee, Lili Simmons and more, The Scenes: Hood takes Ana to see Job at his nightclub & Rebecca Kills Alex & The shoot out at the Church
Sandi wich: Hood takes Ana to see Job at his nightclub. How many shows can have someone go from being a bitchy, lip syncing disco diva to a sarcastic, high tech hacker to a gun toting macho saviour all in one episode and play each as flawlessly as Hoon Lee does. He is such a versatile actor, I'm glad his role was expanded this season and I hope that we get even more Job next year too!
DarkUFO: Rebecca Kills Alex.
Sharon Seymour: The shoot out at the Church.

BATES MOTEL, "Shadow of a Doubt", March 10, 2014, Actors: Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore
The Scenes: Norma and Norman argue after the musical auditions & Norma sings "Maybe This Time"
Geo N:
The scene right after Norman (Freddie Highmore) storms out of the musical auditions and Norma (Vera Farmiga) chases after him was some incredible acting as well a little funny. Norma chastises Norman for embarrassing her and they argue at length about why they are about to tryout for a musical when Norma says she just wants to protect and be close to him. Then Norman goes on about how they live together, work together, eat together and their bedrooms are six inches apart. I thought Norman's reaction was a little funny as well as way overdue and great acting by both of them made it a great scene.
Macie Potts: Norma sings "Maybe This Time". Also picked by Darth Locke

BELIEVE, "Pilot", March 10, 2014, Actors: Johnny Sequoyah, Jake McLaughlin
The Scene: The Final Scene where Bo tells Tate it will be alright (picked by Darth Locke)

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, "About Last Night", March 10, 2014, Actors: Kristin Kreuk, Jay Ryan
The Scene: Vincent and Cat say "I love you" and kiss on the rooftop (picked by Virginia Fontana)

GREY'S ANATOMY, "Throwing it All Away", March 13, 2014, Actors: Sara Ramirez, Jessica Capshaw
The Scene: Callie takes Arizona skating
Klutzy girl:
After over a year of problems, Callie and Arizona finally seem back to normal. Skating in front of the house was adorable, and I'm glad they've worked things out. Also picked by Babar Suhail

HANNIBAL, "Hassun", March 14, 2014, Actors: Barry Flatman and more
The Scene: The final scene where the judge is on display in the courtroom (picked by Darth Locke)

HELIX, "Black Rain", March 14, 2014, Actors: Robert Naylor and more
The Scene: The assassin kills everyone in the lift with the Scythes (picked by Sharon Seymour)

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, "Daisy", March 10, 2014, Actors: Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan and more
The Scenes: The flash forward in Italy & Marshall and Lily decide to go to Italy & Lily is revealed to be pregnant

Pablozky21: After a lot of struggle and being torn between of either Marshall becoming a judge or going to Italy, the show finally resolves this issue in the best way possible: giving them a big family as Marshall has always wanted while going to Italy; and then when they speak such perfect Italian (believe me, I know, my grandparents are Italian and they speak pretty good Italian even if it's a second language to them) it's pretty funny, but the ending with Marshall saying "Good morning, Marvin" and "Good Morning... Daisy" with a huge smile on his face is just a lovely way to end the episode.
Babar Suhail: The flash forward in Italy. This scene was hilarious; I couldn't stop laughing.
Klutzy girl: Marshall and Lily find out they're having another baby, and he tells her they're going to Italy because it's her dream and she's already giving him his again. I expected them to conceive their second child during the wedding weekend, but this was so much better!
Jamie Coudeville: Lily is pregnant.

ONCE UPON A TIME, "New York City Serenade", March 9, 2014, Actors: Jennifer Morrison and more
The Scene: Emma reunites with her parents
Klutzy girl:
The hug with David was sweet, and I love that she tried to tell him who she was before he revealed he remembered. Also picked by Samy Bgs

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, "Unbridled", March 11, 2014, Actors: Lucy Hale, Holly Marie Combs
The Scene: Aria's mother gives her an advice
Virginia Fontana:
Aria's mother gives her advice on getting over a broken heart. Holly Marie Combs and Lucy Hale were both very touching and sweet in this scene.

REVOLUTION, "Exposition Boulevard", March 12, 2014, Actors: Billy Burke, David Lyons
The Scene: Monroe asks Miles why he fights
After what had been a pretty solid episode, Monroe is pissed because Miles let the kid go and now he may come back to fight them eventually. In paper, it's understandable that they should have killed them, but Miles could not do it, not just because Rachel told him not to (which did play a factor), but because he has come a long way and he feels he has more than enough blood on his hands to add a kid's blood to that. Monroe then asks Miles why is he fighting; Monroe wants the Republic back, he has vision, and as such he is going to do whatever it takes to destroy the patriots, but Miles doesn't really know what he is fighting for yet. The answer to that will surely be interesting, and I'm happy that Revolution has come all the way from its silly season one to a second one in which these kinds of questions are left up in the air, and one has to wonder what answer will Miles come up with.

SCANDAL, "No Sun on the Horizon", March 13, 2014, Actors: Scott Foley, Kate Burton and more, The Scenes: The last scene & Olivia and Sally in Sally's room
Jimmy Ryan:
Without a doubt, my scene of the week goes to the last 30 seconds of ABC's incredible drama, Scandal. The promo the week before was absolutely correct - that the last 30 seconds of this week's episode would be game changing. With David & James staring down the barrel of Jake's gun, absolutely anything could happen. This scene wasn't the best in the episode in terms of acting or writing, but it is an absolute game changer, and will take this series in yet another wonderfully twisted, scandalous direction.
Samy Bgs: The last scene with Jake shooting 2 people + either David or James. Can't believe we have to wait one week to see who got shot!
Diana mack: The scene where Olivia and Sally are in Sally's room. She compares herself to Jesus in the Getsemani garden, where he felt Judas had betrayed him; he could have escaped from his destiny, but he decided to move forward with his 'mission'. That was an intensive scene that underlined Sally's faith in God and her catholicism.

TEEN WOLF, "De-Void", March 10, 2014, Actors: Holland Roden, Dylan O'Brien, Tyler Posey and more
The Scene: Lydia and Scott in Stiles' mind
Justyna Kubica:
This season has been such an emotional rollercoaster. It looks like each week Teen Wolf has some of my favorite scenes and even though I don't usually like to repeat myself like that I can't help but praise the cast and crew of this show for their wonderful work week after week. This time the best part of the episode, at least for me (next to the opening sequence which was amazingly done), was Lydia and Scott entering Stiles' mind and being able to get him out just by letting him know they're there. I don't think it's over, now we have two Stiles, good and the evil one I guess, so I expect that in order for Stiles to be safe and free again he has to face the Nogitsune, with his friends by his side, and win the battle for his mind and body. At least that's my current theory. I loved Lydia's ideas in the scene, her reminding Scott that Stiles, despite being human, is a part of his pack. A very important part, I'd say, especially considering how McCall's powers and strengths don't seem to work right without his best friend around. I think hope is something they both have been losing recently and maybe working together again is gonna help them get it back. Also, I didn't forget about Peter's part in the entire thing. Sure, he works for his own reasons, but the moment he started screaming to help Lydia find herself in Stiles' mind was fantastic. He's really such an interesting character. But honestly, where does he get his informations from? He knows almost everything! To sum up, it was great to see Scott and Lydia working together to save Stiles, him (partially) breaking the connection with Nogitsune which released Derek, Isaac and the Twins from the strange, possessed states they were in and Peter helping the good guys this time. As always, I can't say enough about Dylan O'Brien's phenomenal performance in the episode (season) and amazing work of his colleagues. In this case, great job by Tyler Posey and Holland Roden. Can't wait for the next episode! Also picked by Jamie Coudeville

THE AMERICANS, "The Walk In", March 12, 2014, Actors: Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys and more
The Scene: Philip and Elizabeth spare the cleaning guy's life (picked by DarkUFO)

THE BIG BANG THEORY, "The Mommy Observation", March 13, 2014, Actors: Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg
The Scene: Howard advises Sheldon to let his mother be happy
Howard and Sheldon's relationship has always been complicated to say the least, so I was overall very happy with the episode moving forward with their renewed friendship and the strongest moment overall is when Howard tells Sheldon about how once he discredited his mother's lover and that she has been lonely ever since. Sheldon listens and takes his advice about not getting in the way of his mother's happiness. It's a powerful little moment that show us that their relationship is now a true friendship and it comes along with a few chuckles, and those are my favorites moments on the show.

THE FOLLOWING, "The Messenger", March 10, 2014, Actors: Shawn Ashmore, Jessica Stroup and more
The Scene: Mike and Max turn the tables on Dr. Strauss and save Ryan (picked by Sharon Seymour)

THE MENTALIST, "Black Helicopters", March 9, 2014, Actors: Emily Swallow, Robin Tunney
The Scene: Fischer and Lisbon talk about Kim's childhood dream
Diana mack:
After Jane gave Fischer his secret gift, a wand, Lisbon enters in the room and she and Kim have a little chat. Fischer explains how much in her childhood she wanted to be a fairy princess, so she could use her magic powers. That was a cute scene and made me realize how much Fischer may be a lonely person.

THE MUSKETEERS, "A Rebellious Woman", March 9, 2014, Actors: Tom Burke, Annabelle Wallis and more
The Scene: The trial of Contessa Ninon De Larroque
Justyna Kubica:
It's not easy to choose just one great scene from a fantastic episode like this one but I decided to go with the trial because so many interesting things happen during this scene, it's wonderfully acted by all the actors and gives a chance for at least a few of the characters to shine. I have to start with Athos' fury after hearing Milady's testimony. The way he completely loses control and just starts screaming, trying to get to his treacherous wife and shocks everyone around with his sudden change of behavior was such a powerful moment. Impressive work by Tom Burke and the first step to Aramis and Porthos finding out about his past. I really wish they knew the truth about Milady. Also, there's Queen Anne, who shows kindness and compassion, sparing Contessa's life and going against Cardinal. I do fear this could be the start of the real conflict between the two. The Queen has a subtle, but very good influence over the King and Cardinal who wants the power for himself may have a problem with that, maybe even sooner than I'm guessing. As if that wasn't enough, the scene ends with Cardinal being poisoned. Action, emotions, everything combined in one amazing scene. I can't wait what tonight's episode is gonna bring. I can't believe how fast I've grown to love this show. Kudos to the cast & crew!
Sandi wich: The court room & the Cardinal is poisoned. Again it was quite hard to choose just one scene this week with so many favourite bits, but this incorporated many smaller things that I enjoyed. Athos' anger at Milady lying, Anne's compassion in speaking up for the Contessa and Louis' selfish panic at the Cardinal's collapse being the highlights.

THE ORIGINALS, "Farewell to Storyville", March 11, 2014, Actors: Claire Holt, Joseph Morgan
The Scenes: Rebekah leaves New Orleans & Klaus and Rebekah part ways & Klaus comforts Rebekah in the past
Justyna Kubica:
There were so many beautiful monologues in the episode that it wasn't easy to pick the best scene this time. But in the end, I decided to choose Rebekah finally leaving New Orleans, free and happy, driving away with the smile on her face, with no intentions of ever coming back. Seeing her getting something I didn't think was really possible for any of them - a happy ending, was the best way for anyone to leave this show (or any other vampire show, to be honest). And since she was one of the very few people I thought I can still root for, I'm really glad she got to have that. It's hard to watch the show where you have to actually search for someone to feel sympathy for, which is why I don't particularly enjoy vampire/monster shows for very long. Sure, I give them a chance and if the story is interesting and characters are good I watch for a while. I think it's the difference between the monsters who embrace being the bad guys and those who despite their nature, their curse try to be better is what makes me stay. When the lines blur, it's pretty much an ending for me, I don't enjoy watching the shows about murderers who only hurt others and care about themselves. Which is why I'm glad Rebekah pretty much got a second chance to live her life better. I just wish Klaus learned something from this situation, which sadly, he did not. Anyway, farewell Rebekah! And best wishes to Claire Holt who was absolutely fantastic in her last episode. All the best in the future projects!
Virginia Fontana: Klaus and Rebekah reconcile to whatever extent is possible and part ways. I'm going to miss Claire Holt, especially after her wonderful performance in this complex episode.
Jamie Coudeville: Flashback to Klaus comforting Rebekah during the storm.

THE WALKING DEAD, "Alone", March 9, 2014, Actors: Norman Reedus, Emily Kinney
The Scene: Beth asks Daryl what changed his mind about there being good people left (picked by DarkUFO)

TRUE DETECTIVE, "Form and Void", March 9, 2014, Actors: Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson
The Scene: The final scene
Diana Mack:
The last scene, with Rust and Marty outside the hostpital. They have a little positive chat for the first time, and even Rust agrees there's a little chance for the light to win on darkness. Beautiful and reflessive ending!
