Quote of the Week - 29th December 2013

A weekly feature highlighting the best quotes on TV this past week (however few shows there were to watch).

Doctor Who: 'The Time of the Doctor'; 25th December; Matt Smith, Karen Gillan
Doctor: "I will not forget one line of this, not one day, I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me." Amy: "Raggedy Man, goodnight"

Nikita: 'Cancelled'; 27th December; Maggie Q
Bradley Adams:
Nikita: "Welcome back to the basement... Helen." Nikita won, and she ended the long battle with Amanda in perfect fashion. This quote was also picked by Daniel van der Veer: 'Finally, Amanda is defeated. And that one line made her destruction complete!'

Nikita: "Now Ryan has given us a gift. Freedom. Now we can find our place in the world, wherever that might be. Freedom's a scary thing though. We've got no one to answer to but ourselves. We used to answer to them, the step-child nobody wanted, but the world needed. Now that we're finally free, I get why we fought so hard. The real gift isn't freedom, it's what we get to do with it. I don't know about you, but I could never just sit on a beach anyway." This was an absolutely fantastic ending to a brilliant show. What a brilliant monologue by Nikita. This quote was also picked by Jamie Coudeville

Jamie Coudeville: Amanda: "Nikita!" I'm glad they stuck to the "and the last word they'll breathe before the end is my name" thing.

Sherlock: 'Many Happy Returns' (mini-episode); 24th December; Jonathan Aris/Benedict Cumberbatch
Anderson: "Just look at the map though, he's getting closer. It's like he's coming back."

Sherlock: "What do you want me to do at the end, shall I smile and wink? I do that sometimes, I've no idea why. People seem to like it, it humanises me."
