    Going to go with Tamsin.

Vex is second best, but nothing beats Tamtam's awesomeness and the sheer screen presence of Rachel Skarsten.

  15. Vex, followed by Tamsin and Trick.

  16. Absolutely love Vex. Love him evil, love him slightly less evil. Paul is a hoot and a half.

  17. I was confused about that too, but guess we're supposed to interpret "supporting characters" as characters who aren't part of the main cast. However, if that's the case, then Hale and Trick should also be excluded since they are also part of the main cast. If Kenzi and Dyson were on the list (since technically speaking, they are supporting characters), they'd be my #1 and #2 respectively. Otherwise, I'd to with Vex.

Let's just say there's a few spastic members of this fandom who believe that Tamsin winning in anything is a crime against humanity.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm sorry, what did you call members? Spastic? I'll assume you don't know how offensive that term is. This is just a show. Ship what you like but don't use offensive terms that reference life situations that you are not faced with.

    1. I find it hilarious that you bring up ships when they are not even mentioned in the most nor the poll. Really showcases the reason you posted and explains the overtly-defensive tone. ;]
    2. Please don't associate your cultural values with those of other people. Unless you are from UK, calling someone spastic or spaz is pretty much inoffensive. Where I come from it pretty much a slang for hyperactive or over-excited people. Which is perfect definition for people who stalk polls 24/7, harass real life actors over-twitter because they happened to dislike the character, create multiple accounts to fill the official showcase blog with awfully similarly sounding comments, AND lead the hate-vote campaigns against the character they happened to dislike. ;]

  22. Trick never tells Bo the truth about anything. He put her in danger from first Aife, then the Garuda, then the Dawning, because he doesn't respect her enough to give her any of the information she needs unless it suits his interests.

He's nice to Bo, but if you think about it, he's never actually had her back, and his attitude to both Kenzi and Lauren is pretty revealing. He will let them risk their lives to save his world from the threats he generates, but he'll still never treat them as equals. He talks about Bo's future and love life behind her back as if he's got some say in it, and he treats Dyson as an expendable attack dog - one he'd be sad to lose, but wouldn't hesitate to send off a cliff all the same.

That's why I can't stand Trick. He talks like a good guy, but his track record show his true colours. He's a narrow minded old fool who puts everybody in constant danger because he's arrogant enough to keep assuming he knows better.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Or people just really like Vex in this instance so that Tamsin loses. Just take note of all the people who support Tamsin here and how many down votes they get. Gee, I wonder why. You have a right to dislike a character, but to down vote someone for liking them? Bitter much?

    ReplyDelete
  24. InvestedInYourFuture23 September 2013 at 00:35

The main problem with Trick is his selfishness and questionable motives. Even now, after 3 seasons, you can't quite put your finger on Trick and what he truly wants for Bo.

Then there's his attitude towards humans and overall two-faced contradictory nature.

Trick is great character, but not exactly the most likeable one ;]

    ReplyDelete
  25. It's only offensive if you're counted among the group of individuals that InvestedInYourFuture is referring to.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Considering every character besides Bo is a supporting character in that they can only affect the plot through means of Bo or things that affect Bo, this poll doesn't make much sense. But if I must choose, Tamsin all the way, followed by Vex.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I only down vote excessive butthurt and ridiculous conspiracy theories.

    ReplyDelete
  28. See, conspiracy theories are just that, theories. They aren't facts. This, however, is a fact. You may be blind to it, but this, as per usual with polls involving Tamsin, is a very real and upsetting occurrence.

    ReplyDelete
  29. LOL. If I want to see butthurt I'll just check the FB page and see a bunch of people whining about Lauren being pushed into the back of the cover.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I told myself to stay clear of this poll.........and yet here I am. Vex should have joined the "Main Cast" as a series regular after season 2! Why didn't this happen? Why did Vex only have a few episodes in season 3 (the character was minimized)? I don't know, but then I officially gave up on figuring out what the writers/producers are trying to do with this series back in June 2013. My vote goes to Vex/Paul Amos! 4 THE PALMERIST/SOLOIST, I remain Nobody!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. But in all fairness, Vex and Tamsin both have questionable motives and are far from selfless. I picked Vex as my favorite, but I'll be the first to admit that it's not based on his ethical or moral character! It's because I find him highly entertaining.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The Morrigan and Vex. But mainly the Morrigan.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yeah, but that's the thing, Vex is a bad guy, but he's both upfront about that and hugely entertaining, so he's still likeable. Trick isn't all that fun a character or all that good a guy, so he doesn't really have anything going for him at all.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think it's an American thing. I've only ever heard Americans throw that word around like that, and it's always disconcerting. It would be considered enormously offensive here. Most websites based in this country autocensor it same as they would a racial epithet.

I wish people wouldn't use it or the R word though. Gross.

    ReplyDelete
  35. No, it's not. In Europe, "Spastic" is considered incredibly offensive, it was used as a slur against people with motor function conditions, ie cerebral palsy, etc. It's just instinctively quite shocking to our eyes to see somebody use it so flippantly.

I was going to give that person the benefit of the doubt and suggest they may not have realised how horrifying that looks to other users, but reading her post below I see she's actually fully aware of its meaning and association and quite happy to use it anyway. Which... well, there it is, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I wouldn't worry about this poll, it's not going to influence anything, S4 is almost in the can and since the show is heavily invested in Tamsin the fact she doesn't get her vote out in polls won't matter. It doesn't affect Dyson either, he has the same poor results when it comes to polls. I'm surprised Tamsin hasn't got this one in the bag but I guess Vex is popular.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I happen to know for a fact that a number of European and international teens use the word and slang quite regularly. To say "Europe" is widely inaccurate. A number of television shows and films throughout North America use the word and subsequent slang, so to single out an individual for doing the same is somewhat harsh.
Simply because in other cultures the word can be interpreted as something else doesn't make it inherently offensive. For an individuals who commonly use the word or are taught to use the word through whatever social means to cease doing so would kind of defeat the purpose of cultural words. There are a lot of them, and a lot of them aren't known to individuals that they are offensive. Take "fag" and it's multiple meanings between "Europe" and North America.
The show is based in North America, the show airs in North America, and thus most comments like this are delivered with intent to reach North American viewers who know and use the word/slang in a similar way. If you've stumbled into a North American themed verse, it should be of courtesy to you to understand that not all of your slangs/words match up with theirs, and that you are likely to find things that aren't exactly up to par with what us socially acceptable where you're from.

    ReplyDelete
  38. As the former poster pointed out...the use of the word "Fag" in the States is an offensive slur, whereas it is used frequently in England to mean something non-offensive. Similarly, when used as a slang word in the USA, "Spastic" has nothing to do with motor function. It's used to describe someone who appears to be over-excited or over-enthusiastic about something. People even use it to describe their own actions e.g."I completely spazzed out when I bumped into Brad Pitt in the grocery store", etc. The bottom line is that people just need to be aware of cultural differences before attacking others for using a term that has a different connotation in their culture.

  39. InvestedInYourFuture23 September 2013 at 15:14

Its not about morality its about portayal.

The difference between that is that the show gives us clear baseline of what Tamsin feels, for example - we see her doing bad things and then the show makes clear of what a toll that costs on her well-being.

Vex on other hand never EVER hides his intentions.

Neither of them are ambiguous. Which is the keyword defining trick.

With Trick EVERY decision can literally be interpreted in multiple ways and is quite contradictory. Unlike with Tamsin or Vex, Trick is intentionally written in such a way that he could end up being either the best person in the world or the final villain. He is the type of character who would well fit in by a lunch table with Varys and Littlefinger.

    ReplyDelete
  40. It derives from the root spastic and the corrupted use meaning clumsy awkward comes from that, North America didn't invent a new word, also faggot is offensive in UK when used to denote a member of the homosexual community, it is also used in a shortened term fag to mean cigarette and younger boy at public school running errands for a senior, hence fagged out. The latter are no longer that common.
I doubt the use spastic in this case was mean to be friendly teasing if it was, it didn't feel friendly to me. Spaz is the corrupted use in US slang and spaz is also used in the UK as a derogatory term. All terms of abuse can be used between friends because they are often used in a tone that is affectionate and understood as such.
As to the origin of this abuse/jocular teasing, there are incidences when people invested in another character won't vote for the person they see as competition, they don't like them so they vote for someone else who they like better. Tamsin fans seem to take this as an affront, no-one has to justify who they vote for, if people are invested in certain characters winning then they have to hope enough people feel the same way to get the result they wish for. I don't use twitter or facebook so the butt hurt people bring here from various encounters and then do the same thing they accuse others of seems totally hypocritical and on viewing this board the same people who claim aggression by others display the same behaviour over and over again.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I agree if Kenzi, Hale, and Trick are main cast then definite Vex would be my favorite!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Absolutely agree. There are pools of anti-Tamsin whatever shippers organizing large anti voting sessions. They actually conjoin and then attack. None of this is to say that Vex sucks, because I quite love him, but it's worth mentioning. It's kind of upsetting that it happens, but when these individuals are called out on their hateful actions it's turned against the people "complaining" about it, who are then made out to be pathetic and whiny and creators of conspiracy theories. It's ridiculous almost tyrannical behavior. It's rather upsetting, so forgive us for bringing it up.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Perhaps it's your non-use of twitter of facebook that keeps you blind to the anti-Tamsin movements. It's not individuals, it's organized groups who downvote Tamsin to show others that she's of no importance to the fandom. It's no "butt-hurt" when their intent is to rid the show of Tamsin. How else would expect us to react? Without aggression they walk all over us, twisting our words and walking in circles to come to some ridiculously contrived point that they are somehow superior in their beliefs. When no other method works, do you simply sit by and watch it happen? No. In the way that doccubus voters group together to upvote doccubus, valkubus voters do the same, and in the way that doccubus voters complain about other ships, or rather mock them, we do the same.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think second place is a very good result for Tamsin's fans, considering everybody loves Vex (including doccubus shippers)

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think there's no reason to be confused. Hale and Trick are main characters but they don't have so much space such as Kenzi, Dyson and Lauren. that's why they can't be compared to the REAL main characters. Maybe Tamsin could be a main character because of the events of season 3, but she doesn't even exist in seasons 1 and 2. also...we don't know if she will be a main character in season 4! For all these reasons, from the very beginning, the only main characters are Bo, Kenzi, Dyson and Lauren.

    ReplyDelete
  46. LOVE Tamsin <3 so of course I had to vote for her :-)
But I also love both Vex and the Morrigan, especially when they're being evil together. Hoping we'll see more of them! they are so entertaining

    ReplyDelete
  47. I am well aware of the derivation of the word since it is used frequently by medical professional to describe a type of muscle paralysis caused by central nervous system damage (e.g. a severed spinal cord) rather than peripheral nervous system damage. However given that the current meaning of the slang word in the USA has absolutely nothing to do with the original meaning (one is used to describe someone who is excited or over-enthused about something and the other is used to describe a problem with muscle function), I consider them to have evolved into two separate words with two different meanings. Language changes all the time. Regardless of whether or not the poster meant it in a friendly way, the comment had nothing to do with your perceived meaning of the word. This issue, along with people not voting for my favorite character both fall into the category of things that aren't worth getting upset over.

    ReplyDelete
  48. OMG. Lost girl fans really need to chill!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Bo is the only main character. Kenzi is a supporting female cast member...what she's nominated and won awards for.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I Know! It's insane! I read comments from people saying they hate Tamsin because Lauren's in the back of the cover. And they definitely won't continue watching if Doccubus does not back together soon. Why not be a fan of the entire show and enjoy where the writers take us?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hale and Trick are not “Supporting” characters. Since the pilot (Vexed) and the first episode (It’s a Fae Fae Fae Fae World), they have been established as central/main characters. When K.C. Collins and Rick Howland appear in episode opening credits, they appear ahead of Emmanuelle Vaugier, Paul Amos, and Rachel Skarsten. In Season 4, when Vaugier (The Morrigan) and Amos (Vex) appeared in an episode, Skarsten (Tamsin) appeared in the credits after them.

The main stars (and the characters they play) are credited in this order:

    Anna Silk (Bo)
    Kris Holden-Ried (Dyson)
    Ksenia Solo (Kenzi)
    Zoie Palmer (Lauren)
    Rick Howland (Trick)
    K.C. Collins (Hale)

Everyone else in an episode comes after them. Y’all need to learn the difference between Main Cast and Supporting Cast.

    ReplyDelete
  52. It's just a poll, and polls are made to get numbers about a question to the audience. You're talking non-sense. In the credits Kenzi is a MAIN character, but Ksenia was nominated twice at the Canadian Screen Awards for her SUPPORTING role in Lost Girl. And Rachel, she's credited in RECURRING cast, but we can see Tamsin as a main character in the DVD COVER of SEASON 3 with Dyson and Bo. What you find in the credits does not always correspond to
reality, and I'm not talking about LG series only...so, don't take a
poll too seriously. It's all about opinions, not concrete facts!

    ReplyDelete
  53. it's pretty weird, the same poll with different result https://polldaddy.com/poll/7396664/?s=twitter...what the hell does it mean??? one thing is for sure: Vex rules!!! Tamsin is fine, but preferences for Trick-Hale-The Morrigan are completely disjointed. why?!!??!?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Is shocked at how few have voted for Trick who easily gets my vote! Trick has been there since the BEGINNING, guiding and training Bo making her the Fae we know today, plus the family relation which I figured out right from the get go.
