Christopher Abbott, who has played Marnie’s on-again, off-again boyfriend Charlie during the first two seasons of the HBO comedy, has abruptly left the show.
According to the New York Post, which broke the news, Abbott had been butting heads with leading lady/series creator Lena Dunham.
“[Chris] is grateful for the experience of collaborating with Lena, Judd [Apatow], and the entire Girls cast and crew, but right now he’s working on numerous other projects and has decided not to return to the show,” the actor’s rep told the Post.
