Scene Of The Week - February 10, 2013 - *POLL*

Week 10! Thanks so much for all your contribution!
My choices this week are:

1. Show: NCIS

Episode: “Canary”
Date: February 5, 2013
Actors: Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, Vik Sahay, Ethan Rains
The Scene: The staged prison break

This is just such a brilliantly done scene. Starting from Tony’s conversation with Khan, then turmoil behind the doors and finally attempted escape. The fact that many viewers actually started wondering whether it’s all true is just one of the proofs why it’s so great. Not to mention the performances of the actors, which were fantastic. Speaking of actors, it was so nice to see Vik Sahay again on TV. Don’t know about you, but I certainly miss Chuck a lot. And Ethan playing Kevin, I want to see more of this character, I really liked him here.
I’m going with this scene to appreciate the brilliance of the creators of the show. After so many years, they are still able to make something so good and catch the attention of the viewers. This season is doing great and considering it’s season 10 (!), well, all I can say is: kudos to the NCIS team! No wonder, it’s number 1 show on TV!

NOTE: This scene was also picked by Bradley Adams as Scene Of the Week!

2. Show: HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER
Episode: “P.S. I Love You”
Date: February 4, 2013
Actors: Cobie Smulders, Various Canadian Celebrities
The Scene: “Underneath the Tunes” documentary

Robin Sparkles (or Daggers in this case) never disappoints. I loved every single bit about Robin’s musical career in Canada. It’s always so much fun to watch and the songs are just so ridiculous and catchy. This, most likely, last part of this story is showed us in a different form, documentary. Presented, in the company of the dramatic music, interviews with Canadian celebrities are just something you can’t miss. The jokes! And the question about the doughnuts! By the way, did you know, that Tim Hortons actually CREATED the one Jason Priestly talks about on HIMYM (a Timbit crammed into a strawberry vanilla) after watching the episode.
As for the music video “P.S. I Love You” itself, nice job Cobie Smulders! It was definitely more intense than any other Robin’s song. And I really liked how it was made! So I’m going with this tribute to Robin Sparkles and her obsession with Paul Shaffer (I did not see this one coming, did you?).

NOTE: This scene was also picked by Babar Suhail as Scene Of the Week!

And here’s more of SpoilerTV Team members’ favorite scenes!

1. FROM DARTH LOCKE
Person Of Interest, “One Percent”, February 7, 2013
Actors: Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson, Jimmi Simpson
The Scene: The Watchers Become the Watched

Honestly I think there were many good scenes in this week's Person of Interest, but I picked this one, because it makes ideas presented in those other scenes more interesting. Every episode begins with a monologue of Finch saying, "We work in secret. You’ll never find us..."

We are introduced to character, the POI of the episode, Logan Pierce. Pierce is a wealthy billionaire with high I.Q. and is a computer technology tycoon, who despite being the victim, ultimately comes off as threat to Finch and Reese. I'm reminded of LOST when Penny tells Desmond, "With enough money and resources you can find anyone.", as Pierce is able to pull several double wammys including knowing a bit of something about Reese and Finch and confronting them on it.

It's all contrasted by a conversation where Pierce tells Reese that technology changes, but not the human need to be connected to other human beings. For a character that Reese exploits to the viewers as ' a guy that's hard to keep up with, because he breaks all the rules' and the realization Reese has about Logan's Russian hideaway plan was a way to 'see HOW Reese worked', it's hard to see through Pierce and his potential as a long term character, but at the very least seems to be a character that could be a "make or break" factor for Team Machine. (And the Machine knows it!) I'm reminded of Alias' Julian Sark, a freelance agent who seemed to be in the business for the thrill of it, implying that any other life style would be boring. Pierce comments to Reese about knowing that he really wasn't "boring"...

Jim Caviezel and Jimmi Simpson where delightful together and their playful dispositions disguised the serious nature of the situation with fun zeal.

Additionally the episode was sentimental for me, as it reminded me of Fringe as well. Pierce was like a wealthy excessive Donald O'Conner on speed and not quite out of Observer mode, as Fringe too was partly about ' the watchers' and perception of reality in wake of advanced technology. (And Pierce is a similar kind of name to Sharp, no?).
