According to EW, the characters of Ellis and Dev will no longer be series regulars in Smash's second season. It is likely that the actors will return for one or two episodes to wrap up their storylines but otherwise that will be the last viewers will see of them.
UPDATE: Brian D'Arcy James and Will Chase, who played Julia's husband and lover respectively will also be exiting the show.
