Grey's Anatomy - Jesse Williams interview - Chyler Leigh, Kim Raver's exits "depressing"

Fans aren't the only ones reeling from the unexpected exits of Grey's Anatomy mainstays Chyler Leigh and Kim Raver: Costar Jesse Williams was just as shocked!

"I was sad to lose those guys. We love them to death, they're really, really beautiful people and it was difficult," Williams, who plays Dr. Jackson Avery on the ABC hit, told Us Weekly at Sunday's 27th Anniversary Sports Spectacular in Century City, Calif. "It was kind of depressing."

Made aware of Lexie (Leigh) and Teddy's (Raver) exits at the finale table read with his castmates shortly before filming, Williams, 30, says their characters' swan songs make him wonder if Dr. Avery's days are numbered.

"Everybody is supposedly leaving, one way or another," said Williams, who first joined the series in 2009.

Frequently one to try to predict how Rhimes' storylines would go, Williams has instead decided to stay in the present on the ABC series.

"I gave up predicting on that show after my first year," says the actor, who is currently producing and starring in the drag racing flick Snake and Mongoose. "I spent my whole first year thinking I knew what the hell I was talking about, and now I just don't even pretend."
