Ratings - Unusual data, original facts

Vulture released several ratings figures that we don't come across every day, focusing on particular demographics and other unusual factors (level of education, ethnic origin, income, etc). I summed up most of them below :

By 'watched', Vulture means live ratings + DVR recordings watched within 3 days :

Once Upon a Time (Sundays at 8 on ABC) :

- It is the #3 most watched show by women between 18 and 24.

The Simpsons (Sundays at 8 on FOX) :

- It is the #8 most watched show by the male population under 50.
- It is the #52 most watched show by the female population under 50.
- It is the #4 most watched show by boys between 12 and 17.

The Cleveland Show (Sundays at 8:30 on FOX) :

- It is the #3 most watched show by boys between 12 and 17.

Family Guy (Sundays at 9 on FOX) :

- It is the most watched show by male teenagers.
- It is the most watched show by boys between 12 and 17.

American Dad (Sundays at 9:30 on FOX) :

- It is the #2 most watched show by male teenagers.
- It is the #2 most watched show by boys between 12 and 17.

The Good Wife (Sundays at 10 on CBS) :

- It was beaten by The Playboy Club on the women between 18 and 34 demo (2.1% of them watched the 3 episodes of The Playboy Club while The Good Wife's average is only of 1.6%).

2 Broke Girls (Mondays at 8:30 on CBS) :

- 4.4% of the women over 65 years old watch the show, it's better than Modern Family, getting only 3.7% of that elder demo. ABC's hit is even less watched by people between 65 and 122 years old than Man Up or The Middle.

Two and a Half Men (Mondays at 9 on CBS) :

- It is the #2 most watched comedy by both male and female population under 50.
- It is the #5 most watched show by kids between 12 and 17.

Terra Nova (Mondays at 8 on FOX) :

- It is FOX's second most watched show by people over 50.

Gossip Girl (Mondays at 9 on the CW) :

- It is the lowest rated show on network TV.

Castle (Mondays at 10 on ABC) :

- It is the oldest-skewing show on ABC, 12.2% of the women over 65 watch the show.

NCIS (Tuesdays at 8 on CBS) :

- One episode of this show has more viewers (21.5 million viewers) than the entire NBC Thursday comedy block (21.3 million viewers when you combine the results of Community, Parks and Recreation, The Office and Shitney).
- It is the #2 most watched show on TV by women over 50.
- It is one of the two dramas in the top 10 of the most watched shows among people under 50.

NCIS Los Angeles (Tuesdays at 9 on CBS) :

- It is the #4 most watched show on TV by women over 50.

Glee (Tuesdays at 8 on FOX) :

- It is the most watched show by female teenagers.
- It is the #2 most watched show by women between 18 and 24.

New Girl (Tuesdays at 9 on FOX) :

- It is the most watched show by the latino population between 18 and 49 (while The X Factor is the most watched show by the african-american population).
- It is the #2 most watched show by female teenagers.
- It is the most watched show by women between 18 and 24.

Parenthood (Tuesdays at 10 on NBC) :

- It is the #4 most watched show by rich people (with a median annual income of $78,000).

Modern Family (Wednesdays at 9 on ABC) :

- It is the most watched show by rich people (with a median annual income of $83,000) and very rich people (with a median annual income of over $100,000).

Revenge (Wednesdays at 10 on ABC) :

- An impressive figure of 0.6% of kids between 2 and 11 watch the show on Wednesdays, from 10 to 11pm (and I bet 0.6% of kids between 2 and 11 are sleeping in class the next day...).

Law & Order SVU (Wednesdays at 10 on NBC) :

- It is the only NBC show among the 50 most watched shows on network TV (#41).


Community (Thursdays at 8 on NBC, as it should be, all season long) :

- It is the #3 most watched show by people with at least 4 years of college (yeah, and Community should also get to do 4 years at Greendale university !).

Parks and Recreation (Thursdays at 8:30 on NBC) :

- It is the lowest rated show among kids from 2 to 11 (only 0.3% of them watch the show).
- It is the #2 most watched show by rich people (with a median annual income of $78,000).
- It is the most watched show by people with at least 4 years of college.

The Office (Thursdays at 9 on NBC) :

- It is the only NBC series in the top 50 among teenagers.
- It is among the top 10 shows watched by women between 18 and 24.
- It is the #3 most watched show by rich people (with a median annual income of $78,000).
- It is the #2 most watched show by people with at least 4 years of college.

The Secret Circle (Thursdays at 9 on the CW) :

- It is the show having the smallest concentration of people with at least 4 years of college.

Grey's Anatomy (Thursdays at 9 on ABC) :

- It is the #3 most watched show by the female population under 50.
- It is the #47 most watched show by the male population under 50.
- It is one of the two dramas in the top 10 of the most watched shows among people under 50.

Bones (Thursdays at 9 on FOX) :

- It is FOX's most watched show by people over 50.

A Gifted Man (Fridays at 8 on CBS) :

- It is the liest popular scripted series among rich people.

Blue Bloods (Fridays at 10 on CBS) :

- It is the #5 most watched show by women over 50.

Chuck (Fridays at 8 on NBC) :

- It is the lowest rated show among women between 18 and 34 (only 0.7% of them are watching the final season live or over the weekend).

Fringe (Fridays at 9 on FOX) :

- It is the show with the biggest percentage boost when you include DVR recordings : +133% among adults between 18-49. 90210, Up All Night, Modern Family and Supernatural are right after.

About The SpoilerTV Daily Newsreel

Every day 100's of items are submitted to us and we don't always have the time to make separate posts for the news and/or there is so much that it would quickly push all other items off the homepage.

About Movie News Roundup

Rather that creating lots of new posts as new info is released and fragmenting the commentary, we thought it would be a good idea for the upcoming major movies to create a single post for each major movies that will collate all the info as it's posted.
