-Ratings Breakdown:
The two-hour live Dancing With the Stars season-finale led ABC to overnight victory, with a 15 percent advantage over second-place CBS. Third overall was Fox, which was above average thanks to two-hours of The X Factor, followed by NBC and lowly The CW, which increased because of encore telecasts on the year-ago evening.

Dancing With the Stars took top-rated honors for the evening, of course, with a 13.2 rating/21 share from 9-11 p.m. and the half-hour breakdown as follows:

Dancing With the Stars (ABC)
8:00 p.m.: 12.0/18 (#1)
8:30 p.m.: 13.2/20 (#1)
9:00 p.m.: 13.6/22 (#1)
9:30 p.m.: 13.9/23 (#1)

As positive as this is, one year earlier Dancing With the Stars closed the season with a 16.2/25 on 11/23/10. Congratulations, J.R. Martinez and kudos to Rob Kardashian, who proved he is more than just the younger brother of Kourtney, Kim and Khloe.

Earlier in the evening on ABC was sitcom Last Man Standing, which scored a consistent third-place 6.1/10 in the overnights at 8 p.m., followed by doomed Man Up! at a 4.3/ 7 (#3) at 8:30 p.m. Retention for Man Up! out of Last Man Standing was 70 percent. For more on Man Up!, see out listing of TV Turkeys 2011.

CBS was below average but still a comfortable second with its combination of NCIS (#1: 11.5/18 at 8 p.m.), spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles (#2: 8.9/13 at 9 p.m.) and recently introduced Unforgettable (#2: 7.0/11 at 10 p.m.), which was on par with year-ago occupant The Good Wife.

Over at Fox, two-hours of The X Factor in place of regularly scheduled Glee, New Girl and Raising Hope lifted the network to a 6.5/10 from 8-10 p.m., which built from one week earlier (4.8/ 7 on 11/15/11) by 35 percent. Here is the half-hour breakdown:

The X Factor (Fox)
8:00 p.m.: 6.3/10 (#2)
8:30 p.m.: 6.8/11 (#2)
9:00 p.m.: 6.5/10 (#3)
9:30 p.m.: 6.3/10 (#3)

Elsewhere, another two-hours of The Biggest Loser on NBC (3.6/ 6 from 8-10 p.m.) slid by 20 percent from the 4.5/ 7 in the overnights one year earlier. But demo friendly lead-out Parenthood (#3: 3.4/ 5 at 10 p.m.) actually increased by 17 percent (versus a 2.9/ 5 on 11/24/10). Here is the half-hour breakdown for The Biggest Loser:

The Biggest Loser (NBC)
8:00 p.m.: 3.7/ 6 (#4)
8:30 p.m.: 3.6/ 6 (#4)
9:00 p.m.: 3.5/ 5 (#4)
9:30 p.m.: 3.7/ 6 (#3)

Over at The CW, 90210 sunk to a season low 1.1/ 2 at 8 p.m., followed by a Tuesday 9 p.m. encore telecast of Hart of Dixie at a 0.8/ 1. Both scripted hours, of course, finished a very distant fifth.
