House - Hugh Laurie to end 30-year TV career when hit US show finishes

HUGH LAURIE will quit television after his award-winning medical drama House finishes.

And with talk that the current eighth season, on Sky 1, will be the last, it could be that the Brit's domination of American television is coming to an end.

The 52-year-old is the most watched leading man on the small screen, according to the Guinness Book of Records, which claims that at its peak 81.8million people watched the show in 66 countries.

The programme, which Hugh joined in 2004, earns him a reported £250,000 an episode - netting the actor a total of £45million by next year.
