SPOILER ALERT - This preview contains some plot spoilers and several lines from the episode.

USA Synopsis - Michael and Fiona head to Puerto Rico to abduct a financial hacker whose software they need for Anson, but the hacker has some dangerous enemies waiting for him in Miami. Meanwhile, Sam and Jesse train Madeline to retrieve sensitive information from the police. Guest stars: Lauren Stamile, Jere Burns, Ian Anthony Drake, Ptolemy Slocum Airing: Nov. 3, 10/9C on USA Network.

The midseason premiere of Burn Notice airs Thursday, November 3 at 10/9C on USA and you won't want to miss it. This episode has everything Burn Notice fans expect - action, guns, humor - as well as a new, softer side of Michael. In fact, it starts with one of the most "awww" moments in Burn Notice history. (Check it out on SpoilerTV.) Don't worry though. It's still Burn Notice. Even if the episode is bomb-light, there is plenty of gun action to make up for it.

Overall I found "Damned if You Do" one of the better episodes of season 5. The case of the week intrigued me as did the technology involved. The characters were awesome, including the guests. I really enjoyed Carla Gallo, who plays Daisy on Bones. She was sweet, smart, and didn't make me want to drill through my eyes - a vast improvement over Daisy. I also thought Jesse was particularly fun here, especially his facial expressions. I'm not one who dislikes Jesse but most times I can take or leave him. His interactions with Maddie and the cop made me laugh. Without giving away too much, here's my take:

Episode Highlights - Michael "supportive boyfriend" Westen and Fiona "I'm not a damsel in distress" Glenanne without question. Michael is in full rescue Fi mode, only this time she is right there beside him. It all leads to the …

Best scene - Michael and Fi in Puerto Rico. There are only a handful of Mike/Fi scenes in all of Burn Notice I like better.

Biggest surprise - Michael is a bit naïve at the end. That rarely happens.

Biggest disappointment - Anson is the same overly confident megalomaniac villain we've had for, well, every season. His pomposity and constant references to his vastly superior intelligence simply annoy me and have the faint odor of been there, done that. I was hoping for less predictable and repetitive.

Best line - "Don't look at me like that. It's unsettling when you're that sincere…..Fine, yes. I'll get the guns."

Other great lines -
"Do any of your friends ever smile?"
"Here's to good plans in bad situations."
"It's official. The guy's a d**."
"FIne. If I can't smoke, you can't drink my beer."
"Well if that happens, yeah, go ahead and panic."

What I learned:
Bad guys still can't shoot.
Sweet nothings cost extra.
It's not smuggling - it's import/export.
Puerto Rico looks a lot like Miami.
The characters of Burn Notice have wacky ideas about sharing and borrowing.
"Some roads you go down, you can't get back from."
"A good cover id lists the age that you look not the age you are."

Burn Notice airs on Thursday, November 3 on the USA Network at 10/9C. Don't miss it!
