V - Episode 2.05 - Concordia - Review

V picked up the pace last night in the fifth episode of the season "Concordia".

Anna announces that she is designing a project that Humans and Visitors will build together, Concordia. Concordia is designed on the outside to be a place where Humans and Visitors can live and work together, in reality, it is just another one of Anna's plans to take over the Human race.

Erica bought Tyler's dad back into the scene for his birthday to try and encourage him to spend less time on board the ship, however, Anna tempts his with the opportunity to become a pilot of one of the shuttles. We didn't learn much more about what Anna wanted with Tyler, it seems he is a big part in moving Anna's plan forward. I want to know more about Tyler and his significance, I think we've been kept in the dark a bit too long now. Why was Erica chosen and what does this mean for Tyler now?

The episode had lots of suspense this week mainly due to Eli working with Erica and the team to assassinate Anna at her party for Concordia. Erica is working on security at the event meaning she can rig the system allowing Eli and Hobbes to take a shot. Ryan suddenly had a change of heart after being bribed by Anna and tells Marcus of the plan to assassinate her. Instead, Marcus got shot. I really disliked Ryan this week. Why did he do that? Surely killing Anna would help him to get his daughter back. I didn't really buy the "Anna being the only person who can comfort her" plot.

We also saw Erica's new partner grow ever more suspicious of her after seeing a photo of her with Jack. He speaks to the head of her team and it seems a formal investigation will now be launched into her activities.

Overall, the episode was a big improvement on previous weeks. We moved forward with the story and new questions were opened. With only five episodes left it will be interesting to see how the story now develops. V is a brilliant show but it does lack in consistency. The story needs to keep moving forward now. From the promo for next week's episode, it looks like it's going to be a very good episode! Let's hope for more answers and suspense!
