Lindsay Hartley has been watching her husband Justin Hartley put on the costumed garb of the Green Arrow for four seasons on Smallville, so it was about time she joined the superpowered action, too. The All My Children star guests on tomorrow night’s episode as Mad Harriet, a clawed bad girl who’s a member of a group of henchwomen led by the evil Granny Goodness (Christina Willes). In DC Comics lore, Mad Harriet is one of Granny’s Female Furies on Apokolips, a planet ruled by the malevolent villain Darkseid. Darkseid is getting a Smallville-style makeover this season, and so has Harriet: She’s powered by the one thing that weakens Clark Kent (Tom Welling), so she easily takes him in a fight (as you can see in this exclusive clip below from tomorrow’s episode). Lindsay Hartley met her husband when both worked on the NBC daytime soap Passions in the early 2000s, and she’s excited to be teaming with him again, albeit on different sides of the moral spectrum. “I’m really excited to be a part of the family,” she says. I talked with Hartley yesterday about her role as Mad Harriet, her connection with A Nightmare with Elm Street and what it’s like when the Green Arrow comes home to their 6-year-old daughter Isabella, so read below for our conversation.
