Football-ignited NBC led this big night of television, with the New York Giants / Philadelphia Eagles match-up at a hefty (and approximate) 15.7 rating/23 share from 8:30-11 p.m. Here is the half-hour breakdown:

Over at ABC and leading out of veteran America’s Funniest Home Videos (#3: 4.8/ 8 at 7 p.m.) was The 2010 American Music Awards at a competitive (but diluted) 7.8/12 in the overnights from 8-11 p.m. Comparably, this was down by 18 percent from the 9.5/15 for The American Music Awards on the year-ago evening (Nov. 22, 2009), which translated into 14.24 million viewers and a 5.5 rating/14 share among adults 18-49.
