'Something's Gotta Give' gave us drama, comedy and emotion but still lacked in something for me.
In the episode, we see Christina move on after quitting the programme at Seattle Grace. Her and Callie have some bonding time when they go shopping to buy furniture for Christina's house warming party. I loved the scene when Christina cut Callie's hair, too funny. Even though we didn't see the surgeon side of Christina this episode, I still think we saw a bit of the old Christina return. The sparkle had returned to her eyes and she was determined to enjoy herself! I have been banging on about how I wish the writers would move quicker with Christina but after this episode, I like where we're at.
Back at Seattle Grace hospital, there was plenty of drama! Poor Alex wasn't having a good day after meeting the new Paediatric surgeon! I really disliked him. He stole the credit for Alex's idea even when he could clearly see Alex was having a bad day. Just when things couldn't get any worse for Alex, he tries to sleep with April and she runs to Avery (who was also having a bad day). At the end of the episode, we discover that Alex has just found out his brother has schizophrenia. I love that we are getting a deeper storyline for Alex, it's much needed although I really didn't like what he did with April, it's the same old story and I thought we had moved on from that Alex?
Teddy has really grown on me this season. I felt really felt sorry for her when Derek blamed her for Christina quitting and she really deserved that apology from Derek. Has anyone else started to dislike Derek a little this season? I still love him, but he has changed. He seems really short tempered and stroppy recently, I don't like it.
A quick shout-out to Avery whose day was just as bad as Alex's! It seems as though none of the surgeons have much confidence in him and then he lost Bailey's patient which knocked his confidence even more. There seemed to be some hope for Avery though, at the end Bailey tells the Chief she wants Avery's help in doing some research.
Overall, the episode was an average episode for me. Nothing spectacular but nothing particularly bad either. I really do feel Grey's is missing something these days. It's still a great show, don't get me wrong, I just think the earlier seasons have something that this season and the previous didn't. I definitely miss M-A-G-I-C moments. I also feel that there wasn't enough focus on the new characters last season, then this season, there is just as much focus on them as there is Meredith e.t.c but we never got a chance to get to know them properly. I'm just throwing out some random thoughts here! Not a criticism though, I still love the show, it just lacks in something these days for me.
There wasn't much to say about Lexie and Mark this episode so sorry to all the people that asked me to cover it this week! There are a lot of characters on Grey's Anatomy and a lot of stories going on and it's hard to cover them all in one review.
