For the first time, Cole "The Winner" McDonald has been top for 2 days in a row, breaking his jinx of alternate days, largely because none of the top few bagged any extra points. So he maintains 51 points, however I slipped in the rankings once more, finding myself in 342nd. I'm not holding my breath for any surge up the charts P

Day 22: Adios to the Housewives, they return to Wisteria Lane empty handed, perhaps better luck next year might see them make the final 8. Also Bonjour from Brussels, as myself and my girlfriend have taken a trip to see the sights. So if there are any fellow SpoilerTV fans in the city, look out for me. I'll probably be sporting a LOST, House or 24 t-shirt. Back on topic however we see the Grey's Anatomy fans just about doing enough to get them to the quarter finals, but with the lowest overall amount of votes in this Round by a way, I wouldn't expect it to win the trophy this year, the backing is not there at this stage. Onto today's poll, and it's the one I've been looking forward too for a while now, seeing Britains sole-remaining entry take on the wrath of the intricate web of mysteries that is LOST. I feel LOST probably has too much support for even the doctor to handle, but I think the fans will rally and give it a decent attempt at beating what is likely to be it's toughest challenge. You never know with this competition, however LOST has seen off with relative two huge shows in The West Wing and Seinfeld, but typically the sci-fi has proven strong in the competition so far, so maybe Who has an advantage. I hope today we can get a huge number of votes, with the support for both shows being huge, it's a chance to beat the collosus 4491 votes we got for Firefly vs. Fringe in Round 2.
Lets find out, and as ever Let the Battle Commence.....

Doctor Who (2005-) vs. LOST

The one thing that you don’t watch ‘Doctor Who’ for is the special effects. The special effects and usually the basic designs of the aliens are quite frankly, lame. What I watch ‘Doctor Who’ for are the amusing, very slightly campy stories that reflect human nature and emotions. I end up feeling just as much emotional attachment to minor characters that only appear in one episode as I do for the Doctor and his companion. I love how the Doctor can be goofy, inquisitive and authoritative almost simultaneously. The Regenerations that allow the Doctor to cheat death are not only a clever way to extend the show but a way to emphasize the Doctors complex and changing personality, from Dr. Nine’s (the ninth generation of the Doctor) battle-scarred soldier to Dr. Ten’s manic, no-second-chances persona, to Dr. Eleven being adorably old fashioned, absented minded and prone to temper-tantrums; they are all the doctor and I love them all. ‘Doctor Who’ is complex enough for adults to watch but interesting enough for kids, with a minimal amount of adult humour and situations to enjoy too. Doctor Who’s intended audience is children and families so sometimes there is juvenile humour that, while not distracting from the storylines, can seem out of place if you are not aware that children as young as seven watch it. But ‘Doctor Who’ is able to balance such diverse subjects as the title character’s guilt at having to destroy his home planet to save the universe, to farting aliens that explode when vinegar is thrown on them without ever alienating any of the audience. Well, almost never.

LOST

Seasons: 6 (Finished)
Previous Results: R1. WON vs. The West Wing (67.69%), R2. WON vs. Seinfeld (82.3%)
Major Awards: 9 Emmys, 1 Golden Globe.
Format: Adventure/Drama/Mystery/Fantasy/Scince Fiction
Synopsis: The series follows the lives of various groups and people, most importantly the survivors of the crash of a commercial passenger jet flying between Sydney and Los Angeles, on a mysterious tropical island somewhere in the South Pacific. Episodes of the early seasons typically feature a primary storyline on the island, as well as a secondary storyline from another point in a character's life.

LOST is a show that revolutionized network television and the internet. The series explored themes and storylines that most shows were afraid to explore and created a buffet of mysteries that kept that show interesting for six seasons. LOST is a show that will be remembered for its clever twists and complex characters, with both great heroes and villains, for having a roller coaster run and for proving that not all the best shows are on cable television. LOST is an amazing show with perhaps the most controversial series finale ever.
