[MISFIT] 40 to 45, shaggy haired, and maybe he's scrawny and maybe he's a slab of beef, but whatever the package, he's complicated. He's a biker, but don't let that fill you with preconceptions. Yes, he's dangerous (in the right situation), tough, uncompromising and proud, doesn't like to fight, not afraid to bleed, but he's smart, too, even if he tends to learn his lessons a little to late to apply them. By day, he's the mailroom guy for a Silicon Valley software company, and for the rich young techies, he's just a blur. But when he leaves work he gets on his Harley, puts on his jacket, and he's wearing the patch of the toughest motorcycle club in the country, the Death Rangers. And in that world, he's a knight of the realm. Threatened with expulsion from the club for sex with a brother member's Old Lady, (on a technicality) he's given the option to move to Arizona and bring order to the Carefree, Arizona, chapter, the F Troop of the Death Rangers, albeit an F Troop whose officers are all dead or in prison as a result of a meth lab explosion, Misfit proves resourceful, sometimes brutal, and in all ways a leader as he begins to bring the troubled Carefree chapter under control--though the initial respect he commands may be undermined by his instant attraction to Rhonda, the old lady/wife of fellow Death Ranger (and his host) Jacuzzi Dave...SERIES REGULAR
[SCRATCH] Early 30s, a Death Ranger in the Carefree, Arizona, chapter, skinny from a childhood of hunger as much as from speed today, not the brightest, Scratch narrowly misses death during the meth explosion that claims the lives of three chapter leaders (and one member's old lady). Loyal, rough, Scratch is initially hostile towards Misfit's arrival to take over the leadership of the club, but like all good Death Rangers he ultimately recognizes the authority of a tried and true member under the law of the club. Scratch is a roofer by trade, and he winds up getting Misfit a job on his latest construction project--until the local Sheriff kicks him off...SERIES REGULAR
[JACUZZI DAVE ELGIN] Early to late 40s, the treasurer of the Carefree, Arizona, chapter of the Death Rangers motorcyle club, intelligent, loyal, fair-minded, Jacuzzi Dave is shocked and morose that the club president and vice president were cooking drugs and none of the others knew about it until their untimely deaths in a meth explosion. The most financially successful member of the chapter, and now the de-facto leader, Jacuzzi Dave takes his lumps from the newly arrived Misfit for not stepping up to the plate with club protocol on Misfit's arrival, but he bears him no ill will. Jacuzzi Dave goes along with lawyer Karl Malloy's insistence that Misfit live with him, since Dave lives outside the city limits (and the Sheriff's authority), and Jacuzzi Dave welcomes Misfit into his home, introducing him to his beautiful, strong-willed wife, Rhonda...SERIES REGULAR
[SAILOR] 30ish to 50ish, a Carefree, Arizona, Death Ranger, good-hearted, devoted to his mentally unstable old lady Candace, concerned when she's off her meds, proud when she's functioning, Sailor knows Misfit slightly from before and fills him in on the situation in Carefree. Like the other brothers, he's loyal to his club, whom he considers his family, but within that circle he is also fiercely protective of Candace...SERIES REGULAR
[CANDACE] Late 20s - early 30s, suffering from mental illness but sweet and appealing when she's on her meds, Candace is Sailor's old lady, and she is secure in his love and protection. Well-known to the other Death Rangers, who are like family, Candace is open about her problem and takes no offense when another Ranger, like LH, refers to it....SERIES REGULAR
[LH MANSON] Around 40, another Death Ranger in the Carefree, Arizona, chapter, LH Manson is in the middle of having sex with his wife, Montana, and another couple when he gets the word that the club's three top leaders have been killed or injured in a meth explosion. Under pressure from Montana (who wants a normal life) to quit the Rangers, LH makes it quite clear that the Rangers are his brothers, his family, and that will never change. A tattoo artist who refuses to accept money from an Iraq war veteran, LH is occasionally outspoken and resents the arrival of Misfit to "baby-sit" the troubled Carefree chapter. LH puts in a call to his buddy, Z-Man, back in the Bay Area, to get some info on Misfit, and comes back with some cryptic information...SERIES REGULAR
[MONTANA] Around 32, LH's old lady, she's well versed in the ways of the Death Rangers, but is fed up with LH's commitment to them and wants him to quit so they can have a "normal" life, that is, just once, she'd like to finish an orgy without her husband being called away on club business. Montana makes trouble with Rhonda, Jacuzzi Dave's wife and the most respected "old lady," when she argues in favor of going to the authorities with 4 year old MacKenzie, a Death Ranger toddler orphaned by the meth explosion. Despite wanting LH out, Montana does her part as a good Death Ranger old lady, working with Candace to help clean up the clubhouse after the local cops trash it...SERIES REGULAR
[RABBI] Late 30s, another Death Rangerwith the Carefree, Arizona, chapter, Rabbi got his name because he's a Jew, and he's somewhat defensive about this when he first meets Misfit, who couldn't care less. He's a bit pedantic, and thinks he's more profound than he really is, taking it upon himself to explain what he thinks are the deeper meanings of things, Rabbi is devoted to his club, whose members he considers his brothers, but is wary of the arrival of Misfit...SERIES REGULAR
[RHONDA] Late 30s, Jacuzzi Dave's wife, "the noblest of the Old Ladies," beautiful, intelligent, strong, respected by Dave and within the Death Ranger's club, Rhonda is the mother of a young boy, Eric, and unhesitatingly takes in the orphaned toddler MacKenzie, whose parents died fleeing the meth explosion. She is also a Betty Boop fanatic, and has decorated the home with Boop memorabilia. When Misfit moves in, the only sheets she has for him are decorated with Betty Boop. A stalwart Death Ranger old lady who accepts her role unquestioningly yet is not afraid to speak out in meetings, Rhonda welcomes into her home the newly-arrived Misfit--to whom she is immediately attracted...SERIES REGULAR
[SHERIFF JOHN GLEASON] 40-45. Lean, handsome, polished, this Phoenix Sheriff has worked his way up from dog catcher, wants to be Governor of Arizona, and is determined to see the Death Rangers eradicated from the Phoenix area. Armed with police, Sheriff John bursts into the Death Ranger clubhouse to announce the deaths of three of their members and the kidnapping of 4 year old MacKenzie, for which he holds the club responsible. Aware of Misfit's arrival on the scene, Sheriff John puts the screws on Misfit to leave the construction job Scratch got for him...3 speeches & 6 lines, 2 scenes; POSSIBLE SERIES REGULAR
[Z-MAN] 40s. A member of the Northern California (NorCal) chapter of the Death Rangers, loyal, tough, a man who takes the brotherhood seriously, Z-Man levels a serious accusation against Misfit, somewhat laboriously accusing him of breaking one of the Big Three Death Ranger rules: messing with another Ranger's old lady. (Z-Man's accusation is arguable, since technically Misfit was messing with one of Z-Man's whores, Donna; however, the fact that Donna was off the clock and didn't charge Misfit makes it a Big Three infraction, since Donna is one of Z-Man's old ladies.)
