Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. The overnights are your first look at what to potentially expect when the other results come in. And we always take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence. Keep in mind, as always, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate.

    -Winners:
“50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards” (CBS)

    -Losers (excluding repeats):
    “American Odyssey” (NBC), “Revenge” (ABC)

    ———-

    Ratings Breakdown:
CBS outdelivered the three competing networks combined in the household overnights thanks to the “50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards,” which scored a 9.0 rating/15 share from 8-11 p.m. (peaking in the 9 p.m. half-hour at a 9.6/15). Comparably, this was 10 percent above the year-ago telecast (8.2/13 on 4/06/14), and that 8.2 rating in the overnights translated into 14.17 million viewers and a 3.3 rating/9 share among adults 18-49, based on the Live Plus Same Day data.

Earlier in the evening on the Eye net was granddaddy “60 Minutes” at a dominant 7.4/11 in the overnights from 7-8 p.m.

In the very distant No. 2 spot was ABC with its line-up of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (#2: 3.6/ 6), “Once Upon a Time” (#2: 3.2/ 5), recent entry “Secrets & Lies” (#3: 3.4/ 5) and “Revenge” (#2: 3.0/ 5), which is unlikely to return next season.

Elsewhere, recently launched NBC Sunday 9-11 p.m. dramas “A.D.: The Bible Continues” (#2: 4.1/ 6) and “American Odyssey” (#3: 2.1/ 4) slipped by 11 percent and 16 percent, respectively, from one week earlier opposite the “ACM Awards.” They led out of “Dateline” (#3: 3.1/ 6) and a repeat of “A.D.: The Bible Continues” (#3: 2.8/ 4) from 7-9 p.m. And Fox populated the evening with repeats of “The Simpsons” (#4: 1.2/ 2) and “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 1.1/ 2) from 7-8 p.m., an original installment of the regularly scheduled edition of “The Simpsons” at 8 p.m. (#4: 2.1/ 5), an encore telecast of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#4: 1.3/ 2) at 8:30 p.m., and original episodes of “Family Guy” (#4: 2.2/ 3) and “The Last Man on Earth” (#4: 2.2/ 3) from 9-10 p.m.
