-Ratings Breakdown:
It was a clean household overnight sweep for CBS with its line-up of granddaddy “60 Minutes” (6.4 rating/13 share), “The Amazing Race” (5.1/ 9), “The Good Wife” (#1 for the night: 6.5/10) and “The Mentalist” (5.9/10), which contrary to common belief was renewed for a seventh season.

In original miniseries news, part one of the remake of “Rosemary’s Baby” on NBC was a bust with a 2.6/ 4 in the from 9-11 p.m., which was no better than regularly scheduled (and canceled) dramas “Believe” and “Crisis.” Earlier in the evening was coverage of “The PFA Golf Tour” at an estimated 2.9/ 6 (#3) from 7-8 p.m., followed by “Dateline” at a depressed 2.5/ 4 (#3) from 8-9 p.m.

In season-finale news, two-hours of “Once Upon a Time” on ABC scored a 3.9/ 6 from 8-10 p.m., which was 13 percent below its year-ago telecast. And the season-finale of lead-out “Revenge” (which rocked creatively according to social media) followed with a 3.4/ 6 (#2) at 10 p.m., which was 21 percent below the 4.3/ 7 for the two-hour season-ender one year earlier. At 7 p.m. on ABC, of course, was “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at a second-place 3.4/ 7 at 7 p.m.

Fox capped off the evening with below average performances for its combination of animated “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 1.3/ 3), “American Dad” (#4: 1.4/ 3), “The Simpsons” (#4: 2.3/ 4) and “Family Guy” (#3t, 2.6/ 4) from 7-9 p.m., and “Cosmos” A Spacetime Odyssey” (#4: 2.2/ 4 at 9 p.m.).

About the Daily Ratings

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.

If you are new to ratings or still confused, we recommend you read this excellent Ratings FAQ.

  2. With Berman, only shows he loves ever wins.

  3. Revenge and Once did horrible. That is crazy!!!! so 1.2 for Revenge and a 1.8 for Once based on these ratings.

:( I was sure with all the buzz it was getting that it would go up. Damn it ratings!

That's bad for both OUAT and Revenge... those HH are near their lowest, and both finales were good (in Revenge's case, incredible). Ugh, I hate that audiences didn't come back for this!

  6. EuphemiaWonderland12 May 2014 at 14:21

I'm not surprised OUAT is down. This season is like a bad fanfic.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Guessing Once demo will be a very low 2.x.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Actually this season has been pretty good

    ReplyDelete
  9. Not surprised about OUAT being down. This season has been hideous. Now they are using the "Frozen" buzz to try and fix the ratings but I'm really sure they will screw up that character. Ugh, I just want to watch season 1 over and over again.

    ReplyDelete
  10. For a season finale that sucks for OUaT.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yeah the Frozen crossover seems like such an obvious ratings ploy, I'm intrigued to see whether it will work or not. Though traditionally ratings are better in the fall anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  12. EuphemiaWonderland12 May 2014 at 15:12

The Frozen thing is going to backfire no matter what they do. The movie came out last year and it has a huge following so people are going to get mad when they completely change the storyline to fit the show. It's an obvious ratings ploy.
At least Kristen Bell will play Anna.

The second of this season was awesome. But the first part was bad.

    ReplyDelete
  14. EuphemiaWonderland12 May 2014 at 15:43

I think both parts were bad but to each their own. I don't regret quitting the show the writing has been awful since S2.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well good for u so why are you commenting about it

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm a bit glad abour Rosemary's baby, maybe it's a lesson to NBC that put a lot of confidence in it and cancelled other good shows.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hey, let's talk about The Mentalist. Ohh, yeah. Season 7.

  18. Brandy Danforth12 May 2014 at 16:07

I agree season wasn't good either

    ReplyDelete
  19. good for ONCE
1 tenth down from last year

    ReplyDelete
  20. How will they be able to use her when she already has a show on Showtime where she's the female lead?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Good times:) excited for the finally and happy that it will be back!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. 1.5 for revenge! Good, but I expected 1.6 or 1.7

    ReplyDelete
  23. I hope Revenge adjust up to at least a 1.6.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It will probably be even once the finals come in.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The writers can't seem to get away from forced relationship drama. Or maybe they can but they just don't want to since so many fans seem to eat it up.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Pablo Troncoso12 May 2014 at 16:31

YES! At least it is up :)
    Now for an adjustment upward!

YES! Revenge is up! I was fearing a new low or something!
1.5 is far too little for how awesome it was, so I hope it adjust up, Man, that finale was amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm guessing that the main "villain" will only be there for half a season, like Peter Pan and Zelena. The Frozen storyline will likely end by January 1, 2015 so Kristen Bell should be able to juggle two televisions at a time.

    ReplyDelete
  30. What? Revenge had 1.5 and 4.9 million viewers? How? He had it last week and the score was 1.3. There's something wrong!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I thought both parts of OUAT was good I like shows that are characters driven more than plot driven and this show did more characters driven in episodes then plot driven some episodes were fuller but I didn't mind it because it gave us characters driven moments Revenge been good but my opinion it got good when it came back from hiatus love OUAT and Revenge finale

    ReplyDelete
  32. She'll need to start filming House of Lies in October or November at the latest and do that for at least 3 months. I don't see how she could do both unless she films her stuff separately in the summer then they green screen her in.

    ReplyDelete
  33. That's NOT horrible for OUAT.

    ReplyDelete
  34. OUANT and Revenge were up, thank you! those HH ratings scared me!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Most shows start filming in early July, so this could work..

    ReplyDelete
  36. They could just film all of her scenes early too but they would need every episode that she's in to be already written. They use to do that with Danny Devito on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia the first couple of seasons he was in.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Glad that Revenge saw a bit of an uptick for the finale. It's only 2 tenths lower than last year's, barring any adjustments - not too bad.

    ReplyDelete
  38. If you counted the global audience, The Mentalist would be first, but unfortunately only account for the hearing of uses ...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Fabiana de Marca12 May 2014 at 18:04

ouat has the same demo the finally's last year not too bad , but i hope to ajusted up

    ReplyDelete
  40. In my opinion no one should ever be happy a show failed. It was always planned as a 4 hour miniseries and nothing more. With how much they promoted it I was surprised to see the viewership so low though.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm not happy just for the sake of being mean, I have a reason for it and even if you don't agree with my reason it's still only what happens to me, I can't really control it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Agreed. When the focus moved to shipping drama, my love for this show really started to fade. The writers only encourage it, which is the sad part.
