-Ratings Breakdown:
ABC opened the week on another winning overnight note, besting No. NBC by an average of 27 percent. But NBC, of course, will win Monday in adults 18-49 (and the other key demos) thanks to “The Voice.”
“Dancing With the Stars” on ABC topped the night, with a 10.1 rating/15 share in households from 8-10 p.m., which was five percent above the 9.6/15 on the year-ago evening. Next was “Castle” at a 6.4/11 at 10 p.m., which finished second behind competing “The Blacklist” on NBC (6.7/11) with a loss of 11 percent from the 7.2/12 one year earlier.

NBC’s “The Voice” scored a 7.1/11 from 8-10 p.m., peaking in the 8:30 p.m. half-hour at a 7.4/11. Comparatively, that was 12 percent below the 8.1/12 on the year-ago evening.

Over at CBS, 8-9 p.m. sitcoms “2 Broke Girls” (#3: 5.1/ 8) and “Friends With Better Lives” (#3: 4.2/ 6) perked up from one week earlier, with a rise of 6 and 11 percent, respectively. While not a hit by any means, “Friends With Better Lives” did improve by eight percent from year-ago occupant “Rules of Engagement” (3.9/ 6 on 4/29/13). Next on the eye net was “Mike & Molly” (#3: 5.0/ 8 at 9 p.m.), featuring the return of guest star Susan Sarandon, followed by encores of “The Big Bang Theory” (#3: 4.4/ 6) and “Person of Interest” (#3: 2.9/ 5) from 9:30-11 p.m. Comparably, “Mike & Molly’ was six percent below year-ago time period occupant “2 Broke Girls” (5.3/ 8 on 4/29/13).

In season-finale news, Fox drama “The Following” disappointed with a fourth-place 3.3/ 5 from 9-10 p.m., which was 35 percent below the 5.1/ 8 on the year-ago evening. Adding to the erosion, no doubt, was the lack of lead-in support from an encore of “Bones” at 8 p.m. (#4: 2.7/ 4).

Lackluster The CW, meanwhile, was flat from one week earlier with its pairing of dramas “Star-Crossed” and “The Tomorrow People” each at a 0.8/ 1 in the overnights.

    I know.Its a really good show.

    ReplyDelete
  6. It's because of the promotion: CW promoted it like a cheesy lovestory and the slot.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Its normal for this time of year. Ratings go down when the Sun comes out!!! Castle is doing fine and will definitely be back next year, no need to worry.

  8. I love Star-Crossed and I also love The Cw, but I think the network could have helped Star-Crossed by airing it after The Vampire Diaries at least once (Series Premiere).
The Vampire Diaries (in February) wasn't as strong as it was in the Fall, but a lead-in of 0.9-1.0 would have been still good.
Star-Crossed cast is so nice and sweet :) I hope that in the future some of Star-Crossed's actors and actresses will join other Cw's series.

  9. What shows can The CW put on monday night that could work, will they put Supernatural and the Spin off after it to see if it works? leaving TO to pair with Reign and Arrow pair with The Flash and TVD with IZombie?

  11. If they move Supernatural to Mondays in the fall that will officially mean it's been on every night of the week during it's run.

    ReplyDelete
  12. 90% retention from The Voice? Not bad.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I thought star crossed would be awful. The ages of the actors, the name, the love story. So I watched it to laugh at it. But man, I'm hooked. It's so good.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Which markets? The CW had its normal programming in NYC.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Going by the looks of it,supernatural will definitely move to monday 9 pm slot to save that day!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. NYC & Hartford, according to TVBTN.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Weird, TTP at least was totally on (Time Warner Cable anyway) in NYC.

    ReplyDelete
  18. it's sad that the shows which are way better than TVD, TO or Reign will be cancelled. (TO started good but it's getting so boring and repetitive, TVD had incredibly shallow season and will never be the same and Reign is just awful, I actually think than those shows would have been better if they had shorted season). I don't watch TTP, but Star-Crossed is a really good show.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Not bad for a Bones repeat, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I really hope Castle will adjust up because it really needs to have a 2.0 again

    ReplyDelete
  21. #FOX - Can't stop thinking about Fringe ...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Monday night seems to be a bad move for the CW?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yep! Which will be kind of cool.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think it depends on if the CW thinks TO can actually anchor a night. It's slipped in the ratings lately. So the CW may have to decide between trying to fix Mondays with SPN and risking Tuesday tanking. A few months ago it would have been a no brainer with TO doing pretty well, but with the drops, I just don't know. I kind of expect SPN on Monday.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I wonder how many different shows have aired on every night of the week during their run before?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ouch for the Tomorrow People i guess its all over for the show now.

    ReplyDelete
  27. That's your opinion, not fact.I think reign is just fine and way better than star-crossed!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. grrr TTP was an awesome Episode :_( Still don't give up hope

    ReplyDelete
  29. i'm not saying it's a fact, just expressing my opinion:) for me, all those shows which started autumn and has 22+ episodes just downgraded slowly and I think ratings are showing that, they just don't have anything to say and episodes keep getting more and more repetitive. Reign is just teen drama with different costumes, a la Gossip girl. I really liked first two GG seasons, but the length of seasons, for me, ruined the show. And I think it will do the same to these shows. (sadly) I remember TVD for the first two seasons tried to split season into two main storylines and I think it was an intelligent choice. But then Julie took over the show and, i'm sorry, but she does everything in her power not to tell a story, but to make it OMG. It is just plain stupid and does not help with the consistency.

    ReplyDelete
  30. You're right about julie,i'll give you that.everyone keeps saying kevin williamson should come back but he ruined the following,so it's not like he is a genius either!! As for reign, the beginning was BAD,but it improved from there gradually.TTP is a good show but wasted too many episodes to pick up the momentum,by then all the audience went away!! Star-crossed-couldn't find anything to like it,then again i dislike both the lead actor and actress. So,we'll agree to disagree!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. haha :D it's good to disagree. yeah, I know, julie is just... i don't know why she gets so much credit for everything when all the things she's done was already done by Kevin Williamson (i don't watch the following, so I don't know how it is). But when the creator of the show leaves, it's almost always a bad sign. I don't know why they do that (more shows - more money?), but I really respect those, who stay with the show throughout the years. :)

If you have not watched The 100, i would suggest you to try, because it's awesome. I think it's one of the best not only on CW, but also anywhere. First two episode are a little blah, but then it just... My roommate, who normally hates TV shows, is so hooked. And me too. It has a lot of potential. I hope it will get renewed. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I watch all the cw shows including the 100.I completely agree with your opinion regarding this show. It's very good which i did not expect after watching the first 2 episodes.Good news,it's a lock for renewal unlike poor TTP!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. how do you know it's a lock renewal? so do you think CW will only renew The 100? because it does not look like they will renew Carrie Diaries, Beauty and the Beast, TTP, Star-Crossed (I also hate the lead actors, but others are not that bad, and they does not try to focus on romance, it's a good thing)... I think only Hart of Dixie has a chance at renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  34. hart of dixie will get it's final 10-13 episode 4rth season due to syndication,so it's a lock for renewal. The 100 will get renewed coz they will premiere the second season next march replacing which ever pilot fails in the fall. They have to keep back-up series in case next season pilots flops!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love Monday nights on the CW but people are just not watching live. I can't say I'm excited about the pilot's they have in the works to replace SC or TTP.

    ReplyDelete
  36. This year's pilots doesn't look good at all, maybe except flash.let's wait for the first look in may!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ah, nope. I hated Gossip Girl but I am crazy over Reign. I do also enjoy Star Crossed and I am holding out hope for a second season.

    ReplyDelete
  38. They did a bad job trying to sell it as a Romeo and Juliette romance when it really shines on the social aspects. They killed it from the start and probably will cancel it. Big mistake after another.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I watch Arrow every now and then but it's really more of a guys show, superhero's and all. I don't expect to really care for the Flash either. If the iZombie one is more campy funny then that may be good.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Heavy Sigh. 0.3 for TTP. I was certain it'd go back up to 0.5. This is upsetting.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I resent that. I'm a female and i love Arrow. I don't necessarily think of it as a "guy's show". Just an action show. But superheroes are superheroes, men and women. Maybe it's just not your cup of tea. But i wouldn't label it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Not really compared to everything else in the CW currently not renew. :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Its the spring nothing goes that high specially a struggling show....

    ReplyDelete
  44. Well this show has gone that high a few times, and even reached a 0.7 So yeah I'm gonna have a slim chance of hope until it's actually confirmed.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Huh? Lol the only thing it's winning over is SC..Idt that's enough. But I'll keep a slim chance. = )
