Canal+ has sold the rights to air seasons 1 & 2 of Hard (6+12 episodes, 30 min. each) to these channels :
- Mediaset in Italy.
- SRC (also known as CBC) in Canada.
- HBO in South America.
- HBO in Czech Republic.
- Fox in China.
And in early 2013, all 18 episodes of the comedy series will air on Sky Arts in the UK. Btw, this branch of the Sky package is currently showing an original miniseries, A Young Doctor's Notebook (four 22-minute episode), starring Jon Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe !
Furthermore, two remakes are in development, one in Italy and the other in Spain. In Germany, it has already been done in the form of a TV movie in September 2011 on SAT1 : Ausgerechnet Sex!.
After a 6-episode first season in 2008 and a 12-episode second season in 2011, the 12-episode third season of Hard in expected in late 2013 / early 2014 on Canal+.
Here are two trailers (subtitled in English) presenting the first and the second season of this comedy about a widow inheriting of her late husband's porn empire :
And since I found it on the same Youtube channel, I though it'd be great to show you the unofficial base for Modern Family. Let me explain. In late 2008, ABC bought the right to adapt Fais pas ci fais pas ça (it means "Don't do this, don't do that", its international title is "Desparate Parents"). It's a mockumentary with a camera crew following two families. And all on a sudden, in Spring 2009, a mockumentary pilot following three families comes up on ABC : Modern Family. Now I know this is an original creation with no ties to FPCFPC, but still, it does show ABC wanted to do something with that kind of material and in that format :
And to be fair, after season 1, they dropped the aside confessions to the camera crew, but still, maybe FPCFPC deserves a tiny bit of credit for ABC's biggest comedy hit since… a long time ago. Since September 2007, Fais pas ci fais pas ça is a critically acclaimed landmark comedy series in France 2's original programming. There have been 42 episodes produced over 5 successful seasons so far (season 5 concluded on November 28). Each episode is 52-minute long. So now you know.
