Sky Arts has added French TV series HARD to its strand of foreign drama imports.
Written and directed by actress Cathy Verney, this comedy-drama follows the misfortunes of Sophie, a middle-class housewife from a French Catholic bourgeois upbringing. Following the sudden death of her husband, Sophie uncovers a dark secret about his lifestyle : he was at the head of a big company producing porn films.
Broadcast in French with English subtitles, HARD will air on Sky Arts in early 2013. The show stars Natacha Lindinger, François Vincentelli, Anne Caillon, Charlie Dupont and Claire Dumas.
James Hunt, Sky Arts director, commented : "HARD doesn’t shy away from taboo, but the exemplary writing, direction and performances puts it at the vanguard of creative storytelling".
Other scripted shows airing on Sky Arts include Israli series Hatufim (the original Homeland) and BeTipul (the original In Treatment) and French series Maison Close.
