  1. Julianne Moore MUST win an Emmy for "Game Change." She was amazing.

  2. I just don´t understand the supporting actor/actress thing with a show like Game of Thrones. Tyrion is a main character to me. It looks as if they see all of them as supporting. Who is suppose to be the main character?
I think it is such a shame  that they don´t get a nomination in that category.

  3. He has better chances, and there is no main character in Game of Thrones i would say. You might argue that, but i and i think the Emmy voters also think that.

  4. It won't happen but Ted Danson deserves a nod for Bored to Death. God I am still upset over the cancellation. Sometimes it will just pass through my head and I will cry on the inside for a few moments.

  5. Game of Thrones made some great episode nominations. But instead of nominating their actors entirely in supporting categories, shouldn't they face up to the fact that some stand out much more than others? I'd hardly call Peter Dinklage a "supporting actor" at this point.

  6. I guess I get how they can see all the actors as a fantastic cast that support and rely on one another, but I'm with you on Tyrion - he'll always be a main character to me, and seems to stand out above so many of the rest.

  7. Jack Huston should totally get a nomination but I can't imagine the Emmy people giving one to Boardwalk and GOT, such a shame

  8. Jack Gleeson and Conleth Hill both deserve a nomination more than Kit and Richard in GOT in my opinion, they are FANTASTIC in every scene they're in.

  9. I kinda like that all the actors are considering supporting to each other in GoT, and there really isn't a main character.

  10. I do too. I can see the Dane's point that more scenes are with Tyrion than any other character, but the story is not about any one character and because of that I think having no "Lead Actor" makes sense. Unlike say Boardwalk Empire which is about Nucky and everyone around him and he is obviously the Lead.

  11. Seriously!
She and Ed Harris were simply astonishingly good in that movie!
Both deserve their nominations and arguably awards.

  12. Admittedly, the only show I watch is Game of Thrones so I don't know anything about the other actors/actresses...But it would be really great if one of the younger actors from GoT got nominated. They continue to surprise me with how great they are.
Only one complain.Jack Gleeson has made us dream a long and painful death for a 15 year old kid.At least submit him!

  13. Aidan Gillen and Charles Dance from Game of Thrones deserves emmy noms

  14. I see what you mean (they are all great characters), but I guess I have a hard time with both Tyrion and Theon being nominated as supporting actors. I think they are both great, but Tyrions story is so much bigger. There will be episodes without Theon, but I can not imagen a episode without Tyrion.

I´m happy that they are all nominated, but thinks some of them have a bigger part than others.

  15. Oh yeah, Tyrion is my favorite character and I am loving the screentime, but I thinks it's about how the billing works in the show. I thinks it's like an statement of how coral the cast is, telling us that all characters are equal pieces of the set and important in their own way. No one is THE lead, several lad their own stories, that are bind to intertwine. I like that, I like that no one is regarded as the star or lead and it's the story what's prime.

    ReplyDelete
  16. exactly, it's how the story of GoT is presented, there's no "lead actor", this show truly is a coral cast where all stories are important to the narrative, so I like, and think it's fair, that it reflects on the billing. It's not just Tyrion's story for Dinklage (or anyone else in the show) to be considered THE main character, and I really like that HBO went for submitting all their actors on the Supporting category instead of pushing one for the lead nomination just for the ake of another award. I find it classy.

  17. *nods* IMO Woody Harrelson was stellar also!

  18. Zero surprises... I'll say this (and pretty much echo the majority): Even though I get why Peter's entering in the supporting category I don't think it would be out of place if he'd gone for the lead actor race. As it's shaping up he seems to be the only actor and Tyrion is the only character who'll be in EVERY episode this season.

  19. who in the Thrones cast doesn't deserve a nomination, though?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I agree about Jack! he's awesome!

  21. Tyrion is being more exposed in season 2 and gets more screentime than others because of all the positive reception, the fans love him, the critics love him, it's pure PR. But as far as the story is concerned, he's no bigger character than say Jon, Dany, Catelyn, Robb, Arya, Sansa, Cersei or Stannis. And I could go on. He's just one of the many and all their storylines are combined, which is so cool about this show.

Having said all that I adore Tyrion and Peter Dinklage :)

  22.  yes... really good movie... made me wonder how come they didn't try to release it in theaters...

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think they saw what a flop Palin's "documentary" was in theatres and feared that maybe this story wouldn't attract a lot of ticket-buyers. HBO, though, is a channel known for it quality, and (almost) anyone has access to it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. yes HBO has good quality programming...
