The SpoilerTV 2017 Episode Competition - Day 1 - Round 1: Polls 1-4

Hey all,

The nomination period is complete, and with over 400 entries, we can now move on to the fifth edition of the SpoilerTV Episode Competition.

The draw has been done and is featured below. The draw was done so that the top eight seeds (in bold) cannot face each other until the quarter-finals. As with last year, a show is permitted to face itself at any stage of the competition, and there's already two exciting in-show battles in the opening round.

Supergirl's "Alex" finished as the top seed, nearly 60 ahead of second seed The 100 with its fourth season finale "Praimfaya". Fun fact: the top seed has won this competition for the past two years after the opening two editions saw the favourite fail to claim victory. Supergirl is the only show with both of its episodes to feature in the top eight, with "Changing" ranked sixth. Arrow's fifth season finale, "Lian Yu", completes The CW's quartet at seven. The much-praised "Battle of the Bastards" takes third seed for Game of Thrones, which had just four eligible episodes but still has two in the competition. Agents of SHIELD's "Self Control" is seed number four while freshman Netflix multi-cam One Day at a Time surprisingly takes fifth seed with its season finale, "Quinces". Finishing off the top eight is two-time winner Person of Interest, eligible in this competition for the last time, and its series finale, "return 0".

So, enough of all that. Let's move on to the actual competition...

The rules are as follows:
1. Two episodes go head to head for 24 hours, going live and closing at 12pm ET each day. The episode that emerges as the winner will go through to the next round.
2. Vote for your favourite episode, and tell us what you voted for.
3. Tell others about the competition! Social media is your best friend in this competition if you want your favourite episode to win.
4. Be respectful. This is a competition, but be friendly. Let's not have any abuse directed at any person, fandom or show, as we've had on occasion in the past.

A reminder also that due to issues of cheating in the past across the site's competitions, you must log into Opinion Stage either by through the site itself or using Facebook, Twitter, Google+.

Agents of SHIELD kicks off this year's competition as "Self Control" takes on The Americans' "Dyatkovo". Polls two and three today sees finales go head to head. First up, The Flash's third season closer, "Finish Line", faces Bates Motel's series ender, "The Cord", before Major Crimes' "Shockwave: Part 2" is up against Prison Break's "Behind the Eyes". The opening day is completed by a battle between Shadowhunters' "By the Light of Dawn" and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's "Why is Josh's Ex-Girlfriend Eating Carbs?".

Don’t forget to share the post; the more people vote, the more chance your episode has of winning!
